Very cool. I used to live a mile from the 10K loop road On Placitas Trails Rd. About 20 years I'd guess. Lots of hiking in the foothills and MTBing. No signs in those years, but I can remember lots of those images. Thanks.
I love the Placitas! I used to do that exact trail from top to bottom 5 days a week before work! I did that for 3 years. If you ever go back that way, then you need to do the north east corner of that trail system called Chalk Dust. This brought back good memories! Thanks for sharing.

I'm starting to get interested in mountain biking. Would you say that these trails in placitas that you rode are too hard for a beginner? I live in nearby rio rancho only a few miles from placitas. Thanks!
@@robbanks4356 the only question i have is do the trails have a specific direction that you need to ride them? The app i have doesnt show if they are directional or not. Hope this makes sense. Thanks
Good video man, you inspired me to go out and try this area. On my channel I've been hit up by several people to go try riding Placitas. I have only done a white ridge system, which is about 45 minutes from ALB. I live in Denver so hope to do more NM riding. Yeah man for sure! I rode there November 2018. I think ABQ is pretty mild most of the time so I'm sure it's hit or miss as far as snow goes. White Ridge was a blast!
This is my local trail system, I rode there on Sunday. It wasn’t too bad except for the occasional unmelted snow and mud puddles. If there’s a good rain or snowfall this trails usually good in about 4 days to a week.

I think they would be a good intro for sure and you can walk stuff that you’re not confident about riding. No surprises that you’ll encounter.

they are perfect beginner trails. nothing to technical however there are some hidden trails that are techy
