    Dr. Dray’s too 5 things that mess with your micro biome:
    1. Over-cleansing 4:40
    2. Over-exfoliating 5:56
    3. Long, hot showers 6:19
    4. Anti-bacterial soap, sanitizer and wipes 6:25

    Dr. Dray, thank you for everything you do. I developed cystic acne in August when I never had acne before. With your advice, I've managed to control it almost 100% and my skin is clear and beautiful again. I will never go back to my old skin care ways! I will always refer people with skin issues to you and their own dermatologist. Thank you thank you!

    Dr. Dray: I am a mature woman who is a MBC survivor and have done a clean sweep of my personal care to only using VaniCream products. I was a minimal cosmetic user and ditched everything there, too. You would be doing a huge service if you would consider doing a video addressing basic organic makeup ( Foundation, mascara, lipstick and eyeshadow) that costs $20 or less so that when Cancer folks want to feel a bit prettier we know we are not hurting ourselves. Would you consider steering us in the right direction?
    Physician's Formula has a new organic line that is inexpensive...but is it good? Honest Beauty is reasonable...but is it good? THANKS

    You saved my skin about a month ago. I had been taking hair gummies that were high in biotin and my skin began reacting horribly to everything, starting with my lips and spreading all over my face. My skin barrier had been destroyed, just like you explained due to the high amount of biotin. I quit the gummies and the itchy and intolerable red, sappy skin is cured.

    • @BC-jy6jh
      @BC-jy6jh 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How were your lips reacting? Because I'm starting to have this strange reaction on my lips and this "incurable" phase of breakouts. I'm wondering if that's part of the problem.

    • @jungerman3545
      @jungerman3545 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@BC-jy6jh so I’ve been taking these supplements for over a year - two different brands - and it began slowly. First just just some redness and swelling of my lips, until it progressively got worse and entailed the area around my mouth and the pain and itching became unbearable especially when I applied any type of skin-care. At first it was the salicylic acid and sunscreen and then it was anything... even my French thermal spring-water products, aloe, and those products that are used to restore the lipid barrier. I couldn’t even use cover-up and the itching was so relentless I took Benadryl. Then I saw Dr. Dray’s video on the biotin supplements, I stopped the gummies, and within a week my problem that had been getting progressively worse over a year completely relented. She said - and I’m paraphrasing - that biotin competes for the same receptors as other nutrients that maintain your skin barrier and can displace them completely which is what happened to me. I mean she is a life-saver. I had thought it was simply the mix of products I was using but I’m still using them and no problems now. You have to watch the supplements, or at least I do.

    Love this topic. Thank you for this video. I wash my face once a day at night before moisturizing. If my skin gets really bad sometimes I’ll just do nothing and leave it alone for a day or two.
    I can say for sure that the very first time rosacea showed up on my face I was having really bad intestinal issues and my gut microbiome was definitely imbalanced. I had a glass of limeade, felt a terrible heartburn like feeling and for the first time rosacea showed up within 24 hours, then progressed over the following 2 years as rosacea does. The 2nd time it was hot peppers that caused the flare up. I can’t even look at anything overly acidic with lime anymore, foods that are overly spicy, etc.
    I know that it’s very important for me to get my intestinal flora imbalance under control. It’s been difficult cause I’ve fallen into some terrible eating habits again after living with somebody who eats awful but, personally, my body screams out for healthy foods 24/7. Maybe getting that 100% on track will do a lot of good for my skin as I know it will for my overall health. Planting a bunch of cold weather kale in my garden and sticking to just saying no to joining in on other’s harmful eating habits.

    Dr. Dray thank you for this video 🖤 I have oily skin and use CeraVe gentle cleanser at night and the morning. I use Vanicream lotion with a wet face after and put it on pretty thick at night. I only use the cleanser in the morning to remove oil (the oil irritates my POD around my mouth) and make the pores on my nose clearer looking (I think the oil overnight just makes them look dark). Is washing in the morning too much for the microbiome?

    Does Azelaic acid negatively impact the microbiome then? Since it kills bacteria?

    I have posted this previously but it really is true that my mother killed every bacteria on my skin for the 1st 2 yrs of my life. So I really try to get some good bacteria. Eating some Skyr right now!

    Dr. Dray! Lots of talk about microbiome lately. Could you talk about how benzoyl peroxide and things like Hibiclens would impact the microbiome? Some dermatologists suggest Hibiclens for underarm wash for lasting anti-smell effects. It does seem to work, but are we making the problem worse in the long run? How does the microbiome of the underarms differ? So many questions 🙂🙃

    Could we have a video about lashes serum and eyebrows treatment including microblading?
    They're so in trend but tere is nothing about from z dermatologist's perspective.

    Hi Dr Dray,
    I use BP everyday in my routine. My routine is tret at night and i apply 5% paulas choice ointment in the morning with moisturizer. I have recently got my skin under control after a long battle. I have been overly anal about wiping my phone/computer and keeping my sheets clean washing them pretty regularly as well as my pillow case. Am I to believe this is a little overboard and could down the line create negative consequences with my microbiome? I know BP is an anti microbial but is it bad to over use these products? I only wash my face with lukewarm water twice a day, so I dont think i am over cleansing. However, should I consider cutting back on these practices?
    Thank you!

    Dr Dray , I love your channel. I always learn so much and love your quips. Have you heard of Biojuve? It’s a cleansing system that claims to support the facial microbiome. Could you do a review on them? It’s only sold through Dermatologist offices I believe.

    Dr dray can you use cera ve moisturizer with hydro acid in it under tretinoin? I use the one in the big blue tub then put on tretinoin. Also, is organic Shea butter good for a day time moisturizer? Thanks doc 💖💖🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
