So why did they go home that episode I wonder...maybe they knew they'd win episode 5 as well, since we know these 2 slay look based challenges. Just look at every runway this season!
idk if anyone has said it yet but APPARENTLY (according to Willam on Race Chase i think? someone correct me if I'm wrong) the reason Mimi was casted is bc Willam and Phi Phi were both on but then Phi Phi got arrested and they didn't want Willam without Phi Phi (bc of the drama they had on season 4 and they wanted the gag of them competing together again) so they had to scramble last minute to get a queen and Mimi was available. so, yeah, kinda interesting
Here's a little hot tea: for the Heroes vs. Villains episode, Raven & Jujubee originally won that challenge. However, production didn't think a Chad vs. Shannel lip sync would have worked in provoking an emotional response from viewers as Jujubee vs Raven would have. :)
it sucks cause imo this season has the greatest cast out of any season of drag race Ever and there are so many iconic moments still talked about today from it that highlight that. the production fucked up so bad this couldve been like so so legendary it still makes me mad
AllStars 5 had nothing going for it lol, despite being the most predictable season of Drag Race ever, the challenges, the runway themes and the lipsyc songs were all *a choice*, if we didn't have India to stir up some drama, it would've been a big pile of nothing whereas at least we all remember how bad and cringy AS1 was lol
I hope you later also do older seasons because I just rewatched some older seasons and there was a lot of favouritism towards some really popular queens like Adore and Kim Chi. Also All stars 1 had the best cast ever, all exept one were fan favourites and all were so talanted.

as4 i think wasnt rlly rigged for anyone, same with as6 (tho we'll have to wait to see the rest of the season but as of now it seems less rigged than as1, 2, 3 and 5
Nope AS3 was rigged for Dela and Trixie as they are both the nice queens from their seasons. But I honestly don't think the producers thought Shangela would do her homework and do as all as she did.
@@Lsaldana92 as3 was most definitely not rigged for trixie LMAO she was winner by default. having her there until the finale kept ratings on par with as2 and made it so her fans wouldn't grab pitchforks and start an angry mob if she was eliminated. love trixie but girl.. even she will admit that she's a great queen but bad at drag race. the producers knew that too lol
I feel like Season 7 is gonna become a cult season in the future. I rewatched it recently and it's honestly full of iconic moments. The problem was the switch they did to the Untucked format and the weaker cast right after S6, by far the most entertaining season to this day. It's like dating Tom Holland right after you made love to Henry Cavill.
Had there not been the twist of Finale being filmed a year later Ru and Production would had crowned Chad on season 4. They probably thought that Sharon's "Alt Drag" would make here a fan favorite but she wasn't "pagent" enough to get the crown. So they created All Stars for Sharon to win. Because of the twist Producers were able to see fans react to Sharon in real time which cause them to switch the winners.
Nonsense. Sharon was the first Queen to win 4 (FOUR) challenges in a season. Chad (and also Phi Phi) had only 2. There was NO way, that they crowned Chad as a winner. No way.
Edit: I looked high and low and i got the hot tea gals about what i said in the comment below, Latrice on Hey Qween from way back th-cam.com/video/IGG4dfn1bTo/w-d-xo.html About the 3rd episode's challenge- so apparently it HAS been confirmed that Manila and Latrice got more points than Alexis/Yara did! I would give the source, but i've been searching and wasn't able to find it lmao, if i do i'll probably edit the message with the source, but Latrice's last words do seem to point that maybe it is true. If it IS true i'd think it was probably that they were the biggest competition to Shad left, so they were given the push to go (although tbf i don't think they'd do too hot in the girl group challenge so i don't think they needed to be pushed out, but I dunno). This may be just a baseless rumour but even after watching i don;t think it's too out of the realm of the possibility it was true. I'm just a messenger here lmao
It’s almost like the judging is always inconsistent and just serves the storyline that production is trying to create. Watching this video is bringing back memories about this nonsensical season.
I honestly feel like AS1 is one of the less-rigged seasons. There were a couple things that were super suspect, but I think for the most part, the season sucking had less to do with rigging and more to do with the teams twist. I don’t think even the best seasons of RPDR would have been good if they’d had teams.
I get what they were doing with all stars 1 it’s like a normal season but everything is elevated, oh you’re in teams, oh we’re not doing the snatch game we’re doing a whole variety show, oh we’re not doing a reading challenge we’re doing a cheer leader reading challenge.
I just happened to rewatch this season on Saturday....I was wondering why they did teams. I was thinking maybe they didn't have the time and were rushing
and was I right? yes .. Drag Detective having the most mainstream opinions likea always to play for the "Denali/Katya/Trixie Stans" Looking forward to "AS6 was rigged Scarlet and Jan should have won every challenge"
I do think Rujubee deserved the Photoshoot and Superhero challenges. I think you'll see very quickly I am not a crazed Trixie/Katya stan when the AS2/AS3 videos come out haha :)
@@bigbrothercomps7974 Rujubee was just completly underperforming and fans have the nerv to disrespect Chad and Shanell for being "carried". The true robbed queens of AS1 were Jarlaxis.
It could’ve worked had the queens competed individually or if them made better use of the team format, kind of like what happened in the twist with The Challenge: Double Agents. Queens compete in the challenges as a team, one queen from each of the bottom two teams lip sync and the winner stays and decides if whether or not she wants to keep her teammate or switch with another queen while the queen who lip synced goes home, alone. Meanwhile, the queen who loses her teammate cannot compete in the next challenge and must wait until the next queen gets eliminated so that she can be paired up with a new queen. If the queen who wins the lip sync keeps her original partner, then the queen whose partner was eliminated the week before will be paired with the other queen who just lost her partner. If the same lip sync winner chooses to swap partners, the other queen who lost her partner the previous week can pick any partner she wants afterwards, and if she takes another queen’s partner, then the queen who was robbed of her original partner will be stuck with whichever queen is without a partner.
Idea for a shorter season without teams: Two people still get eliminated each episode, but it’s a bottom 3. Winner of the challenge gets a chance to eliminate someone, and the judges eliminate someone else. For example, let’s say the judges eliminate whoever was the worst of the bottom 3 without even lip syncing, and the two remaining queens lip sync for the winning queen of the episode, who then picks someone to Shante/Sashay.
AS1 was made for Chad AS2 was made for Alaska AS3 was made for DeLa but she kicked herself off AS4 was for Manilla (& Trinity) but we know what happened AS5 was for Shea
Also, if they have another winners season, I need Chad back. Simply to redeem this thought of "it was rigged for Chad" because she's genuinely an incredible queen
@@melpomenathemuse But it was. Dela’s biggest critique in s6 was that she was always hiding behind a character and then when she came back for as3 every single challenge except for the variety show and the ball, it was a challenge where you had to portray a character and even for the variety show dela still was a character. Now don’t get me wrong she did slay and she did deserve her tops (except for the variety show but that’s just my opinion) but let’s not sit here and act like the challenges weren’t in favour for dela.
Chad may have been handed the crown, but that doesn't mean she didn't deserve it. It just sucks how the whole season went which makes it easy for people to discredit her. Like I'm major Rujubee fan, team Raven was robbed, but I still think Chad was the best overall on the season and would have destroyed it even easier without teams.
There is a rumor that they made AS1 for Chad cause they wanted someone to represent that vodka brand that appeared on the show. Sharon's drag was controversial and they wanted someone polished and less spooky. Don't know if that's true, but I could see it happening.
The story I heard was that Rupaul really wanted to crown Chad on Season 4 because he’s a really big fan of Chad’s. But Sharon did so much better and was adored by the viewers(at least back then) so he gave into production and crowned Sharon. He did All Stars to make it up to Chad and never planned on making it a series.
They just did way too much this season. If you only have six episodes, just have less queens. Eight queens would’ve been perfect for a six-episode season
Something else about all stars 1 is the fact that the tv company wouldn’t sign on more episodes then 6. When they thought they would. I swear I’ve seen that somewhere before. Wish I remember when and where I saw this stated.
Correction about the practical joke episode, Latrila actually got the second highest amount of points in the challenge and the point system was announced to be the main focus.
A few points to add: Willam and Phi Phi were originally cast, but Phi Phi couldn't do it, so then Willam was dropped. Producers clearly wanted a Willam and Phi Phi feud, and villain edit. Mimi and Tammi were the replacements, so it was no big deal sending them home. Pandora was fan favorite, but her attitude was so bad, it made for good TV. The whole idea for All Stars 1 went into production while season 4 was still airing, so no one knew whether Sharon or Chad would win. The idea that All Stars was created for Chad is technically false, since if Chad won season 4, then All Stars would have been the avenue to crown Sharon. Nowadays, Raven is seen as such a fan favorite and "robbed" queen from season 2, but she didn't have such high esteem back then. Keep in mind, Raven was in the bottom a lot her season (back when track record really mattered), and also Fashion Photo RuView wasn't a thing, so she wasn't the super star she is now. Latrice and Manila were likely considered the front runners, alongside Chad. You bring up the STUPID prank wars inspired challenge, that sent Latrice and Manila home. Well.... legally, if the challenge is based on subjective points, and not based on objective talent, there is no wiggle room. Game show laws for reality TV would not allow Ru to say that points matter, and then ignore the points. It's no different than Jeopardy or any other merit based game show. Producers probably didn't think that through, so had no choice but to send them home. By doing so, Chad became the default front runner. Lastly, so many of the contestants on RPDR, up to that point, were handpicked from the local Southern California drag shows that Chad produced. So to not give her the crown, at that point, would also kind of be a slap in the face.
I basically thought in that time that AS1 was created to give Chad Michaels a crown. Because S4 of RPDR was VERY tight between Chad and Sharon. I thought Ru personally liked Chad more, but the fan base liked Sharon a smidge more. So probably the first season in the drag race cannon where there was obvi riggory. Then came 7 and 8.
Could you please make a "what if all stars 1 season wasn't in teams" with some challenges we usually have in anothers all stars season. Let's if Chad has what is take to be crowned. Thanks and I love your videos
In Brazil we used to have a... Humour? TV show called "Zorra Total" (Total Mess, on a free and absolutely appropriated translation). It was made on a very similar format as Gaff-In, short sketches with punchlines and claques laughing and applauding poorly made jokes. It lasted for 16 years, airing on Saturday nights right after the soap operas.
I wouldn't have said All Stars 3 was rigged for Trixie. She easily could have placed higher in more challenges, and yet she didn't, with Thorgy being High instead of her episode 1, and missing out on a top 2 placement episode 3, for example. Dela was who I'd argue was the intended winner from the casting
Friendly reminder World of Wonder also produced million dollar listing since 2006 so they were producing other shows and have the availability(money ,team, know how,)to make the show up to par...they just disrespect the dolls purposefuly
Yessss omg thank you for talking bout this because honey the RIGA MORTIS of season 1 is astounding ESPECIALLY IN THE LIP SYNC RAVEN WAS CLEARLY BETTER 🤦🏾♂️ and then you wanna talk about all stars & Riga mortis we have to get into how this is the only season to have teams yet season 4 is the only one to have two winners like the ghetto of it all
Based on the title of the episode, my guess is that the intern you mentioned was watching "Girls Behaving Badly" rather than "Impractical Jokers." But my thing is that if you're gonna do a weird challenge like that, then at least have a good reason for it like one of the cast members from that show guest-judging (like, I don't know... Chelsea Handler? Melissa from The Real World? Ken Jeong?).
I need Tammy back on all stars. She’s a true wild card and can’t be changed or give one fuck about “societal wants” (for a lack of better terms) and I love her for that. There’s a reason why she’s so iconic yet only having two episodes of her early af seasons.
It was definitely more favoured to dela, but when she went home and the jury twist was announced it all when down hill. Trixie won because it wasn’t Kennedy’s season to win
i think they definitely wanted her to last long enough to bring her fanbase, but i don't think they were expecting (or setting it up for) her to win. i feel like if they had then they would have given her more wins like for the bachelor spoof or the girlgroup challenge. it seemed set up for dela or maybe even shangela to win but then dela removed herself and shangela shot herself in the foot by basically saying to the jury queens that she was successful enough and didn't need to win which basically gave them a pass to get rid of her lol. after dela and shangela, there wasn't anybody else left. nobody wanted bebe to win because she already had and the producers didn't seem to think kennedy was an option and ofc morgan was a returning queen so that only left trixie to be the winner
It was always so odd to me why Raven got to lip sync for the crown tbh. I mean we can question the choices from production and say Rujubee probably deserved more recognition for their performance while on the show, but if we’re being objective about what actually did take place (as in who they decided to reward throughout the season) then it makes no sense why Shannel is not in that final lip sync next to Chad. They did statistically the best, together as a unit with 3 wins, while Rujubee lipsynced 3 times for contrast, and the whole main thing about the season is the whole duo twist so why abandon it last minute to reward someone who had statistically not been performing as well? It just doesn’t make any sense, this season was a mess. Just feels like they didn’t like Shannel on a personal level so they put Raven there instead.

at least we got Tammie's iconic comments and Raven's dont cha lipsync from this season, which were more memorable than anything on as5 lol
The Snatch Game and Yvie's lip sync were better than Raven's Lip Sync.
The absolute derailment of Pandora’s, Alexis’ and Manilla’s reputations start now. Thank Tammy brown they got a second chance
What did Tammy do?
@@oscargalvan2069 she’s a goddess
@@oscargalvan2069 she walked the producers in nature
And the judges were not there to see her walk herself in nature 😍
@@milliebobbyblue969 crazy sticks to her like ribs
I always thought the whole team dynamic would've been perfect for a "snatch game" variant of the newly wed game, tbh it was a missed opportunity
idk if anyone has said it yet but APPARENTLY (according to Willam on Race Chase i think? someone correct me if I'm wrong) the reason Mimi was casted is bc Willam and Phi Phi were both on but then Phi Phi got arrested and they didn't want Willam without Phi Phi (bc of the drama they had on season 4 and they wanted the gag of them competing together again) so they had to scramble last minute to get a queen and Mimi was available. so, yeah, kinda interesting
Why was she arrested
@@uswish.I don't think it was anything too serious, just some speeding/parking tickets she never dealt with - resulting in an arrest warrant.
Here's a little hot tea: for the Heroes vs. Villains episode, Raven & Jujubee originally won that challenge. However, production didn't think a Chad vs. Shannel lip sync would have worked in provoking an emotional response from viewers as Jujubee vs Raven would have. :)
I mean, that makes more sense. Shad's story made no sense
it sucks cause imo this season has the greatest cast out of any season of drag race Ever and there are so many iconic moments still talked about today from it that highlight that. the production fucked up so bad this couldve been like so so legendary it still makes me mad
Exactly. I just can't help but see Tyra screaming 'we were all rooting for you' over and over when I think of AS1
Latrice actually said on hey qween I think that they got the second most points 😬
Just here to say AS5 was made for Shea and it ended up being bored asf
No lies detected ☺️
thats what happens when a season has a winner the second they set foot on the werkroom. the only suspense is reduced to whos gonna be the runner up
The only “shocking” things about AS5 was that India had talent and Blair lasting forever. Everything else was predictable.
@@marty7933 yessss even Jujubee at second/third place we all expected like wtf LMAO
Episode 3 was rigged aswell, latrice revealed in an interview that her and manila got the second most points but they were still put in the bottom
I hope you later also do older seasons because I just rewatched some older seasons and there was a lot of favouritism towards some really popular queens like Adore and Kim Chi. Also All stars 1 had the best cast ever, all exept one were fan favourites and all were so talanted.
I'm shaking with the implication season 8 is old
@@nemanjanastasic2313 I mean there have been 15 seasons and 16 winners since season 8.
Who is the one you're talking about? I loved all of them in season 1 and would kill for a new All Stars season with all of them in, like All Stars 1 redo
@@Squids.Arts. Mimi wasn't a fan favourite and was actually really hated. It became even worse when Pandora, who was a giant fan favourite (she was basicly Katya of that time) got eliminated and people blamed her, even though it was Pandora who screwed them over. And then people actually started to respect her after her roast.
@@benjamintic3653 makes me really sad about how Mimi got treated on S3 and AS1 :/ she's so absolutely lovely to talk too and she's honestly one of my favourite queen's and she is going through so fucking much right now too 😭
So if All-Stars 1 was “technically” rigged for Chad, 2 was for Alaska, 3 was for Trixie, and 5 was for Shea, who was 4 rigged for? I’d guess Manila, and then they had to change it after Naomi chopped her.
as4 i think wasnt rlly rigged for anyone, same with as6 (tho we'll have to wait to see the rest of the season but as of now it seems less rigged than as1, 2, 3 and 5
as3 was rigged for bendela n shangela, i think. then the jury twist happened at the end n trixie was crowned bc sadly kennedy wasnt an option
@@waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa yeah I agree with all of that. But also alot of the challenges were ones that Trixie should have been good at.
“The fans would’v burned her fracking farm to the ground.” 😭😭😭
Willam's probably thankful he didnt get to do All Stars 1 after seeing the teams bullcrap
No way.
Edit: I looked high and low and i got the hot tea gals about what i said in the comment below, Latrice on Hey Qween from way back
th-cam.com/video/IGG4dfn1bTo/w-d-xo.html
About the 3rd episode's challenge- so apparently it HAS been confirmed that Manila and Latrice got more points than Alexis/Yara did! I'm just a messenger here lmao
so rigga morris then
i heard that Latrilla got the most points out of EVERYONE
I've heard that too, but I never got the source or saw any of the queens say anything about it. Just some random reddit comments, but nothing solid.
It’s almost like the judging is always inconsistent and just serves the storyline that production is trying to create. Watching this video is bringing back memories about this nonsensical season.
Yarlexis was so mistreated this season. This video brought back a lot frustration 😡😡😡
Raven never winning a crown is criminal but being one of the most successful BTS is a flexxx🤭👑❤️
Can confirm I found you on the Insta Explore page! I'm pretty sure it was your “Yvie + Gigi judged fairly” images.
I remember Latrice (I think) saying on an interview that the point system was rigged and that they were second best with that point system
Crazy how one of the worst seasons ever had one of the best episodes of Untucked!
I wouldn’t be surprised to see jujubee in an all stars international season
The first ever queen to come in third place four times.
Rujubee will always be my favorite friendship 😭
I honestly feel like AS1 is one of the less-rigged seasons. There were a couple things that were super suspect, but I think for the most part, the season sucking had less to do with rigging and more to do with the teams twist. I don’t think even the best seasons of RPDR would have been good if they’d had teams.
I get what they were doing with all stars 1 it’s like a normal season but everything is elevated, oh you’re in teams, oh we’re not doing the snatch game we’re doing a whole variety show, oh we’re not doing a reading challenge we’re doing a cheer leader reading challenge.
1.25 speed is perfect
I just happened to rewatch this season on Saturday....I was wondering why they did teams. I was thinking maybe they didn't have the time and were rushing
early here to see how somehow Juju and Raven should have won every challenge
and was I right? yes .. Drag Detective having the most mainstream opinions likea always to play for the "Denali/Katya/Trixie Stans" Looking forward to "AS6 was rigged Scarlet and Jan should have won every challenge"
@@keidozzz2445 did he lie tho?

Still waiting for Shannel’s second chance at All Stars lol.
If the same lip sync winner chooses to swap partners, the other queen who lost her partner the previous week can pick any partner she wants afterwards, and if she takes another queen’s partner, then the queen who was robbed of her original partner will be stuck with whichever queen is without a partner.
oh i'm loving your youtube channel, thank you!
Idea for a shorter season without teams:
Two people still get eliminated each episode, but it’s a bottom 3.
I don’t even necessarily think that teams was a bad idea, so much as not letting them know they were going to compete in teams ahead of time.
AS1 was made for Chad
AS2 was made for Alaska
AS3 was made for DeLa but she kicked herself off
AS4 was for Manilla (& Trinity) but we know what happened
AS5 was for Shea
Correct
As8 was for jimbo
Well this video just proved AS1 was an even bigger mess than I thought it was lol xd #JujubeeWasRobbed
Thank you for your service
It was for the greater good :)
My new big idea: All Stars 1 The Ru-Mix, bring them all back, do it over again, get Manila her crown 😭❤️
All stars really wasn’t bad, not everyone got a fair chance but it’s a good season to watch imo
It should’ve been 8 queens, would’ve worked with the amount of episodes.
This is honestly one of my fave seasons! All the queens are too good for it not to be. I agree that it does have draw backs though.
Besides Chad’s somewhat-rigged win, the only good thing this season gave us was episode 1’s untucked.
Also, if they have another winners season, I need Chad back. Simply to redeem this thought of "it was rigged for Chad" because she's genuinely an incredible queen
This season was honestly made way too early. They should've waited a little longer before making it
i think Season 3 was actually rigged for Ben De La Creme, but she ruined that storyline by self eliminating herself so they went with Trixie instead.
It wasn't rigged for Ben. She deserved all of her wins.
You don’t rig a show by making someone win 5 times
@@melpomenathemuse But it was. Dela’s biggest critique in s6 was that she was always hiding behind a character and then when she came back for as3 every single challenge except for the variety show and the ball, it was a challenge where you had to portray a character and even for the variety show dela still was a character. Now don’t get me wrong she did slay and she did deserve her tops (except for the variety show but that’s just my opinion) but let’s not sit here and act like the challenges weren’t in favour for dela.
The way they could have gotten rid of Mimi, Tammie & Alexis (no shade to these), and then just a normal season with a top 4
Team BROW/FLOWERS for life!
All stars 1 definitely wasn’t a great season, but the RuJube lip synch at the end was still a really awesome moment. Every time I rewatch it I cry.
It makes me cringe. So gross.
Thank you for your service 💚
Am I the only one who really don't remember chad when going through rpdr winners? Chad disappeared into thin air after AS1
The shade of Rupaul Down Under in the beginning 😂😂😂🔥
Why was there no mention of Tammy hands down winning that lip sync??
right? omg they were both great but Tammy EMBODIED the song
I liked that challenge w the celebrity impersonations. Nobody else seemed to.
They just did way too much this season. If you only have six episodes, just have less queens. Eight queens would’ve been perfect for a six-episode season
YES FUCK LETS GO BEEN WAITING FOR A VID FROM YOU
Something else about all stars 1 is the fact that the tv company wouldn’t sign on more episodes then 6. When they thought they would. I swear I’ve seen that somewhere before. Wish I remember when and where I saw this stated.
Yayyyyy new video
I thank you for your service
Have you ever seen a bette davis movie? Chad was spot on
I still think Mimi smoked Chad in their lipsync
I basically thought in that time that AS1 was created to give Chad Michaels a crown. Because S4 of RPDR was VERY tight between Chad and Sharon. I thought Ru personally liked Chad more, but the fan base liked Sharon a smidge more. So probably the first season in the drag race cannon where there was obvi riggory. Then came 7 and 8.
Maybe I'm nuts but I love season 7
Some queens said that in the queen's behaving challenge team latrila actually had the 2nd MOST points of all the teams
Yessss omg thank you for talking bout this because honey the RIGA MORTIS of season 1 is astounding ESPECIALLY IN THE LIP SYNC RAVEN WAS CLEARLY BETTER 🤦🏾♂️ and then you wanna talk about all stars & Riga mortis we have to get into how this is the only season to have teams yet season 4 is the only one to have two winners like the ghetto of it all
I just realized UK vs the world has the same amount of episodes as this season
I rewatched this season and the edit shows a LOT of Chad. Like.. a lot.
No way was All Stars 3 rigged for Trixie. I don’t think that was ever meant to happen
Rupaul’s Gaff-In is a cursed episode
if they wanted chad to win so bad then why didnt they bring back snatch game😭
not her fracking farm lmaoooo
