Man the memories just flooded back watching this. Playing this with my dad when I was 7 or 8 years old. Now I play stuff like Fortnite with my 7 year old and it just isn't the same.
This game was my childhood. The game where it made a change to racing. Super Mario Bros changed the whole video game era from the 80's to the 90's and because of Miyamoto (Founder of Nintendo, the super mario company) HE changed video games from, Pong, to Galaga, to pacman, to ms. pacman, s=and to the super mario we know today. Without him, well we wouldn't have the video game graphics we have today.
Nintendo should remake all of their old games with current generation graphics for the new generation. Make an option in the games where old schoolers like us can change the graphics back to the SNES days.
JCSMOOTH345 The AI in Super Mario Kart all have a a special move to counter the human player. This is a programmed event to try and give the computer a chance to catch up to the player, should they get hit by these projectiles. Other computers can be hit but due to the computer being programmed to jump around obstacles to rubber band, usually they miss the projectiles leaving them for the human player to avoid again on the next lap until the sprite render removes it due to excessive projectiles. Mario and Luigi use stars when the human player is in second to try and prevent the player from passing them. Other AI's will throw projectiles once the human player has passed them unless the human player is right behind them, in which they will back spam it. Sorry I took 6 months to find this comment but perhaps this could still come to good use I hope. :)
JCSMOOTH345 they remade some of the levels for the current generation, in the virtual console cups, but I do agree that they should remake them though it would take a lot of time to remake everything.
That sound that plays when Mario or Luigi use their Star power... so annoying... For some reason, I keep picturing them having a creepy grin on their faces as they're using them...

Very clever use of the Mode 7 effects from F-Zero. This truly shows the Power of the Super Nintendo. I don't think the Mega Drive had anything like it. Most modern gamers say there are way better racing games out there than MK, but I disagree! Mario Kart is a fun and addictive game no matter how old you are! (:
Actually, the Genesis was capable of such thanks to its faster processor. Games like Sonic Spinball (As seen in intro), Gunstar Heroes, and Vectorman shows that it doesn't need Mode 7 for such effects.
I loved this game! Brings back so many memories. I was a master at Mario Kart. My player of choice was the Princess. She moved faster and didn't get pushed around like Toad or Koopa Troopa. Mario and Luigi skidded too much. Bowser and Donkey Kong moved like dump trunks, slow start but get out of their way.
Still play this today. Best mario kart in my opinion. Get so frustrated at times but still go back for more. Koopa troopa is my fav. Cheers for the up load!
Ah man this old memories, played this so much with my brother back then. 150cc mushroom cup targeting below 1min on the first track and the first ghost valley as a warm up. But now you are one lap ahead of me, but I will meet you again at the finish line.
+peridotangel83 I agree. I always used Koopa Troopa, especially on 150cc. Great handling, especially on tracks that had sharp turns when you didn't want to lose too much acceleration.
It was cause they had the best handling overall for all the circuits. While they stayed average with a low skill cap other drivers would accelerate or have a handicap on certain circuits giving them a higher skill cap to drive overall and added a whole other difficulty mode next to CC to the whole game. Toad and Koopa were simply beginners and easy mode carts.
So glad I purchased the complete-in-the-box Super Famicom copy of "Super Mario Kart" for $27 on eBay! I look forward to kicking my brother's butt in this!

+B33FY2015 I still remember playing my sisters on Battle Mode ^^
+MiyuChan Hah, me and my sister would play Battle Mode for hours!
Lol, ugly graphics hard to see where to go next.. yes indeed the best
Alucard8319 and, in addition, besides mario kart wii, the only mario kart that actually requires skill
Mario kart 64 is alot bettee
I love how dk would have his arms up in the bottom screen
“Look, ma! No hands!”
This brought back wonderful memories. Wish I was a kid again. Growing up in the 1990’s was the absolute best.
This game was released on August 27, 1992.
Nick Grove God bless that day
Man the memories just flooded back watching this.
Without him, well we wouldn't have the video game graphics we have today.
this game has THE BEST SOUNDTRACK IVE EVER HEARD.
that's an exaggeration lol
Waluigi pinball
you didn't hear many soundtracks then
The nostalgia hits extra hard here
The musica of the first lap, in my memories forever. I remember watching my older brother playing this
You mixed English and Spanish by the way. XD
Ulymaldo Gaming or portuguese
i don't know
show more
los juegos viejitos de snes aún siguen siendo buenos... y entretenedores!
This makes me nostalgic for something I've never experienced
That´s how good that game is! =)))
Nintendo should remake all of their old games with current generation graphics for the new generation. Make an option in the games where old schoolers like us can change the graphics back to the SNES days.
One thing I have always wondered is why does the computer controlled characters have specials and the player does not?
JCSMOOTH345 and for mode 7 games they should also add an option to make it all flat (mode 7) and the pixelated option should be separate.
JCSMOOTH345 they remade some of the levels for the current generation, in the virtual console cups, but I do agree that they should remake them though it would take a lot of time to remake everything.
They sort of remake old tracks, like Mario circuit and ghost valley.
A very legendary game.
I adored this game as a kid. Everything is perfect. Great graphics, gameplay, and such a memorable soundtrack.
I was just about 3 months of age when this game came out; so Super Mario Kart's ALMOST as old as I am🤯
That sound that plays when Mario or Luigi use their Star power... so annoying... For some reason, I keep picturing them having a creepy grin on their faces as they're using them...
you just have to love nintendo's retro soundtracks, they were awesome back in the day, still awesome today.
O primeiro jogo de corrida a gente nunca esquecer

Thanks! Loved this game!!! This and super mario world are my all time favorite games.
And zelda, link to the past..Those three..Oh and forgotten worlds on mega drive
If you thought this game was good, wait til you play any of the mario kart games made after 2001
I love playing Super Mario😎 Kart on SNES a lot. I can’t wait to play it again soon
Pensar que hace mucho tiempo atrás me amanecía jugando este juego. Cuando nos regalaron el súper nintendo tenía 6 años... Uuuuyyy que tiempos
Cuántos tienes ya ?
Koopa and Toad were my fav characters in this game cuz their u can control their karts with no probs
One of my favorite SNES Games. I miss these days.
I played this game at a "social" at my school yesterday. Never got to play Rainbow Road.
I can't wait for this to come out, it looks great.
Man you are a bit too late
Child hood memories, just taken back in time for a minute, wow thanks for sharing
who's glad they are bringing back the feather in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe?
I USED TO PLAY THIS GAME WHEN I HAD A SNES, MAN THIS GAME BRINGS ME BACK TO MY YOUNGER DAYS
Still play this today. Best mario kart in my opinion. Get so frustrated at times but still go back for more. Koopa troopa is my fav.
Cheers for the up load!
Koopa Troopa is also my fav even in Mario Kart 8 i still main him :) 💚
Ah man this old memories, played this so much with my brother back then. 150cc mushroom cup targeting below 1min on the first track and the first ghost valley as a warm up. But now you are one lap ahead of me, but I will meet you again at the finish line.
Im sorry but I always found Toad or Koopa Troopa to be the best at all the races.
+peridotangel83 I agree. I always used Koopa Troopa, especially on 150cc. Great handling, especially on tracks that had sharp turns when you didn't want to lose too much acceleration.
same, the cute and good on accelration
But DK Jr. was always the best opponent.
It was cause they had the best handling overall for all the circuits. While they stayed average with a low skill cap other drivers would accelerate or have a handicap on certain circuits giving them a higher skill cap to drive overall and added a whole other difficulty mode next to CC to the whole game. Toad and Koopa were simply beginners and easy mode carts.
peridotangel83 Same.
Happy 30th anniversary Mario Kart 🏎🏎
So glad I purchased the complete-in-the-box Super Famicom copy of "Super Mario Kart" for $27 on eBay! I look forward to kicking my brother's butt in this!
I weirdly have nostalgia for a non commentary walkthrough video on a game from 15 years before I was born.
When we were kids, my sister and I used to LOVE LOVE LOVE to play this game. I used to love to throw the bananas.
P
I need this back in my life!
brings back memories
I have been binge watching long plays of old Mario Kart.
This one and FIFA 94 were my absolute favourites on SNES ;)
My god, does this guy know how to powerslide?! That's one of the most important parts of Mario Kart!
Y
You do not question the use of the power slide Jose.
Yes actually if you go further ahead...
Tarosan
BNSF1995 The power slide is more important in rock and roll
heavybassX
My very first game ever, and still love it;:)
I remember purchasing this from a Best Buy on October 24, 1992. Awesome game. My sister and I played the crap out of it.
I have played every single Mario Kart game EVER created
+Jason Berry including super circuit? that one sucked...
+ThatRetard super circuit is awesome! why no one like it?
Jack Winsper i have my own opinions too.
Nice
@@talvisk4654 i agree that one is the worst .
