    There's a hole on thermostat. Saab demands the hole is placed on the top. Other than that being left out. Video is mint.

      I put it the „hole“ on 10 o clock, because 12 was not possible. Will it be ok??

    • @TSCtheTHC
      @TSCtheTHC 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sasap1156 double check that's not possible. Not sure how you mean that actuslly. The Hole needs to be up for gravity pressure

    I would add to clean the seal gasket areas up good and use a non curing sealer like Hylomar on the hoses and gasket area, as they tend to leak if not pretty clean. and Never Sieze on the bolts.

    Could you tell me, how do you know when you need to replace the thermostat ?

      Jorge Lewis Usually when your car doesn't get up to temperature (generally half way on the guage) my 9-5 stayed at 1/4 to the lower level on the guage. Swapped it out and hey presto it's fixed.

    But taking out the battery will "divorce" my radio. I had to get it "remarried" to my car last time the battery was removed, which cost me too much in my area. How can avoid this big inconvenience?

    • @felixdiy9710
      @felixdiy9710  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      try just loosening the bolt that holds down the battery and move it over while you remove the coolant hose, probably would be easier with someone else's help to hold the battery while you remove it

    @7:00 probably 13mm. Half inch would be 12,7mm.

    • @ohmi-ran6173
      @ohmi-ran6173 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      yep, half inch for me I use 13mm

    • @josiehatchet
      @josiehatchet 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know about those bolts, but I do know the sump plug on Saabs are definitely 1/2" not 13mm as you might expect on a European made car. You can get away with using a 13mm socket though, of course.

    2.3 engines are so easier than the 2.6 to change the thermostat you have to take out the exhaust the battery the heat shields
