Interestingly enough, most of the people behind Granblue Fantasy's concept and art style are veterans of Final Fantasy IX. Considered as the best of the franchise from the original creators.
Nobuo Uematsu is also composing the soundtrack from Granblue Fantasy Relink

The more I find out about this game the more shocked and grateful I become. Thanks for sharing this.

I think its a pretty natural choice to go with an action oriented style of gameplay/combat, considering that Platinum Games was working in collaboration with Cygames for almost half the development of the game! They were definitely intent on setting out to make an action RPG, and they consulted and collaborated with Titans in the Japanese action game sphere. Also kind of agreeing with other commenters here. You might say nothing about it is great, but I think that might be a little shortsighted in the sense that we've only been able to play a relatively short demo compared to the full experience.

I like your passion. It's obvious you really care. I agree that Relink is likely going to be a great game, and that it is doing extremely desirable things that are a positive in the industry right now. I also agree that I think it has excellent style and art, which you can see through the entire GBF franchise, not just in Relink. Despite GBF originating as a mobile gacha game, Cygames generally puts out very high quality products and cares about the quality of its IPs, so it's not like Relink should be unexpected in that regard, following a trend of greatness and care.
Aside from that, I also disagree with your takes on art and visual aesthetics from other JRPGs. I don't think Relink is doing anything with its 3D models and visual presentation that is strikingly different from other titles (comparatively, Persona which you feature briefly has a much more unique visual aesthetic and style going on). There's also nothing wrong with Relink's lack of innovation on this front, though; it looks great!
Overall, combination of nice positives about the game and some weird takes I can't fully agree with that don't have a ton of supporting evidence backing them. With that said, I know it takes effort to make even a short video, and your passion comes through, so genuinely, kudos to you for that.

Maybe wait with that kind of video until after you have played the full game. It's just a demo at this point.

Solid advice, just felt so inspired by the demo I wanted to make something. Dang things like 2 hours long but I’m working my way to 20 at this point trying every character and to get S++ rating. Made in hopes to encourage others to try the demo

The way you worded this was honestly awful, you’re underselling granblue for no reason by making it some kind of uneeded underdog story wich has you affectively convincing people the game is mediocre

This is genuinely good feedback. I felt like I oversold indie and creativity in my last video so I tried to tone it back on this video and went to far. Appreciate the comment

Sadly this is a very rudemintary video, you established for some reason there the bar is only triple AAA hyper realistic graphics and india pixel art (for some reason even categorised granblue in that category??).
Your a new youtuber youll get it but the script was way off mate.

bro this game looks like tales of arise, minus the weird cel shading-esque filter. wdym "original".

I actually agree with you this game looks a lot like TOA. I thought about TOA a lot while writing the artistic design part of this video. It actually caused me to re-write my script. I originally concluded with, "Granblue Fantasy: Relink comes close to the generic anime style but is still unique and special to its own game." Then thought oh s*** I just described Tales of Arise. So I compared the two and started writing out the differences. I always was a little upset that Law looks like Tanijiro from Demon Slayer and how at times the character designs didn't feel unified like GBFR does. I also saw in consistencacies with facial design in TOA, I might be crazy on that one but GBFR doesn't appear to have that issue with me. And although it's silly the light shading and how it makes the colors pop seems unique to just GBFR from what I can tell. So I wrote those details in the script instead of just saying "special" and "unique" sorry for the long answer
TLDR: I agree the differences are minute

@@nerdypreacher01 oh yeah, I do agree with the eye consistency part. that indeed makes this game quite unique. but it's still not quite original, considering any game with Akira Toriyama design already has that consistency. which you actually showed with Sand Land trailer clip in your video.

    • @nerdypreacher01
      @nerdypreacher01  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@Qubicle. ha that’s funny to me, I put the imagery of Sand Land up there because in my original draft I mentioned how great and consistent Sand Land looks but it’s the same look we see from every game designed by Akira Toriyama then was going to put up images of DBZ Kakarot, Dragon Quest Treasures, and DQM: The Dark Prince, and DQ Champions. I felt like it made the script repetitive and took it out. Ironically these two edits took out the emphasis to the art being unique to that game.
Comments like this really help small creators like me learn how to make better videos. Thank you!

Thing is, Tales of Arise was announced at E3 2019. Relink was first announced in 2016.
