Thanks for the comment! Would love a proper sequel to SMRPG. Thousand Year Door is certainly the most talked about game in the RPG franchise and doesn’t need more clout but just speaking for myself as someone who has never had the means to play TTYD I’m very excited for the remake.

@@nerdypreacher01 Yeah I am also ok with paper mario being an action adventure series rather then another rpg because the original game was supposed to be a sequal to mario rpg but now with the high sales of mario rpg and nintendo talking about bringing back mario & luigi,having 4 mario rpg series would be to much (yes I am counting mario + rabbids as well)

@@nerdypreacher01 This year will be great too. Reynaltis, Grand blue fantasy relink, Ys X, FF 7 Rebirth, Eiyuden Chronicles, Suikoden I & II and possibly even Vision of Mana.

Wrote the script and recorded before all the rumors about Switch 2 coming out next year instead of 2024. I still think theirs a good chance for it to come out before holiday. There’s so much changing in the video game industry by the time I write the script and go to record something else happens that makes what I’m about to say irrelevant.

He hasn’t posted it yet. Was thinking it might be out before my video but will share it here once it’s released.

Not to repeat myself but the snes game holds up very well, I recommend it even in 2024. I’d recommend Dread over Prime Remaster. I’ve been struggling to figure out what type of videos I want to make for this channel and this is the one I hope takes off. I play a game, beat it, make a video then throw something personal at the end but we will see if the audience likes it, got to find something I love making that others love watching.

Been playing the snot out of Rebirth. Can confirm the story is still stretched out and still feels like their putting a Final Fantasy blanket over a different game but by Job is Rebirth a fantastic game. It’s honestly making me re-fall in love with modern gaming. I still hold true to the points I made in this video but if I dissuaded you from Rebirth in any way don’t be it’s absolutely incredible.

@@nerdypreacher01 bullshit, being an open world game helps to not be stretched. First part was mostly linear and yeah stretched. now Open World tons of great side contetn most of them are optional, What is there to stretch?

@@FIREDAN075 thank you for the comment. I don’t regret this video but putting it out before the game release has caused errors. My biggest problem is still seeing Rebirth only as the remake of the original game and not as an entity of its own. When you take a stopwatch to a scene in Rebirth to that is in the original game it’s going to be longer. How long to beat says just playing the story sections factoring out the open world FF7 Remake is 32 hours and FF7 Rebirth is 42 hours. When you take into effect that Rebirth has much more original story than Remake you start to see the flaw to this video and my reasoning which you’re right to point out. I’m being too legalistic and comparing apples to apples and not treating Rebirth like the orange it is.

Beautiful comment, and I am truly grateful for the remake games. Giving the original creators the chance to create their ideas they may not have been able to before is a good perspective I haven’t thought of before. I make these videos in hopes of comments like this one that challenges my own perspective, so thank you so much for commenting. To me video games were created by young creatives with original ideas and that absolutely still happens today but it doesn’t really happen too often in the AAA space especially in the AAA space in Japan. I feel kinda pointless trying to voice this but I want them to finish the FF7 remake games but I hope Square Enix puts this team, money, and man power behind a new creative and idea once it’s over and not remake another Final Fantasy title. I know I take for granted the original creators of several classic video games are still alive and still working, but that won’t be for much longer. So I know I should be more grateful for games like these to allow them to fully flesh out their original ideas while they still can. Great insight, thank you!

@@rommelthedesertfox3089 I kind of agree I think Rebirth is going to be a genuinely good game and the scores might be inflated a touch by nostalgia and the Final Fantasy brand but I wouldn’t think by much. My issue is still that I don’t think Final Fantasy should be attached to this game at all it feels forced to me and would love to see this team do a new IP instead.

Solid advice, just felt so inspired by the demo I wanted to make something. Dang things like 2 hours long but I’m working my way to 20 at this point trying every character and to get S++ rating. Made in hopes to encourage others to try the demo

I actually agree with you this game looks a lot like TOA. I thought about TOA a lot while writing the artistic design part of this video. It actually caused me to re-write my script. I originally concluded with, "Granblue Fantasy: Relink comes close to the generic anime style but is still unique and special to its own game." Then thought oh s*** I just described Tales of Arise. So I compared the two and started writing out the differences. I always was a little upset that Law looks like Tanijiro from Demon Slayer and how at times the character designs didn't feel unified like GBFR does. I also saw in consistencacies with facial design in TOA, I might be crazy on that one but GBFR doesn't appear to have that issue with me. And although it's silly the light shading and how it makes the colors pop seems unique to just GBFR from what I can tell. So I wrote those details in the script instead of just saying "special" and "unique" sorry for the long answer TLDR: I agree the differences are minute

@@nerdypreacher01 oh yeah, I do agree with the eye consistency part. that indeed makes this game quite unique. but it's still not quite original, considering any game with Akira Toriyama design already has that consistency. which you actually showed with Sand Land trailer clip in your video.

@@Qubicle. ha that’s funny to me, I put the imagery of Sand Land up there because in my original draft I mentioned how great and consistent Sand Land looks but it’s the same look we see from every game designed by Akira Toriyama then was going to put up images of DBZ Kakarot, Dragon Quest Treasures, and DQM: The Dark Prince, and DQ Champions. I felt like it made the script repetitive and took it out. Ironically these two edits took out the emphasis to the art being unique to that game. Comments like this really help small creators like me learn how to make better videos. Thank you!

@@nerdypreacher01 And things can go worst before they get better, and the name of the problem is Microsoft. When there is a company trying to buy the industry like they are (first Bethesda, then Activision Blizzard, there is talks that they wanted and might want to get their hands on Sega and even Nintendo), thing can only go worst. And just to show i'm not biased on this, the last console i had was the 360, and i play on PC, which means all MS games will end there. MS represents everything wrong with corporate world - if you can't beat them, buy everything until they fall into submission. That will only make Sony go solely the way of money, since they need to be afloat (that's why now they already said it's everything about game-as-service). That's why there are making Horizon online (who the hell wants that) and there was talks about a The Last Of Us online as well.
