You guys after thirty odd years of never touching a model train having given me inspiration to take my old hobby into a new level...and ohh my God have I got ideas of settings and scenery.lack the skill to wave cameras but will try my best to set up a channel on TH-cam to show the build and final build..ps can I just say for someone who never was from the era can I just say he's done an epic reproduction including housing and vehicles...I'm in awe..loved the vid and also loved layout
As you are both together I would like to thank you both for all the videos tips and info you have done it hey have been a great help in many areas Regards Martin Coalbridge Junction
Amazing view of the layout that we don't usually see. Everard Junction was the first layout I saw on TH-cam as I set out to build a Thomas layout for a birthday present. I think I watched all of Richard's videos at least twice and some more than that. This was eighteen months ago. I am now 1 year into my second layout. This time, it's one for me. It is so useful to have so many people filming their skills for us all to benefit from.
I think it came as a shock to everyone to see how low the base boards really are, never expected that. But a brilliant insight into the actual working area of this great layout
If you go again, take a video of one of your trains leaving your station with the New Junction sign in the background and when you get there, film a video of the same loco pulling into Everard Junction station. :)
Both take a bow gentlemen, your layouts/videos have been and continue to be a source of inspiration to many out there in TH-cam land and beyond (me included). Great to see behind the scenes at Everard Junction and the detail that goes into making it all look so good. Cheers John B
At LAST! I have manged to watch this! Two very personable guys who are a pleasure to listen to. I was surprised to learn that each side of the layout is 25 ft! Much bigger than I imagined for some reason. Great work and a cracking interview, thank you both.
Wow, two mates sharing the love of their hobby. As well as giving insights into their modeling world with valuable tips and inspiring others to go forth and find an era to model and have fun. I do love this lifelong hobby. Thanks for sharing and take care.
Great video and like others i didn't realise it was so low down ! I thought i was higher and it also helped me connect all the areas together, plus realise what was removed subsequently and replaced with new scenery. Great stuff.
Magnificent! Thank-you both. I'm only a very occasional visitor to Everard Junction and this was a real déja vue of so many previous visits. Again, abundant thanks, Granpa Quaker John in Littlehampton
Hi Richard. You two have shown what this hobby is all about, making new friends and enjoying a mutual pass time. May be a trip to Scotland next! Regards Bobby 'T'
great video as always and another new one in new junction to follow now too!..... got say really great detailing especially the wildlife on the signals just after 25.12😂👍
This was a brilliant video to watch. Simply awesome. It’s a lot lower than I realised but it’s so well planned and thought out, it works and it fits. I should have gone the open frame method with my layout really. Brilliant info behind the layout and of course the modeller. Clint
Thank you for showing us your visit to everard junction and wow its so good to see it all in one continuos shot, not something we have seen very often. Richard your layout & Richards over at everard junction are inspriations to myself and many thousands, my jounrey back into 00 would not have happened were it not for you guys, thank you.
Who’d have thought you could see Everard Junction in a different way than we usually do with Richards own videos but you nailed it. I hadn’t realised the benchwork sat so low, or really appreciated the size of the actual layout. A great informal interview, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Paul
Thanks guys, for more inspiration. Had given up trying to fit those fiddly, tiny twistlocks on my new freightliner flats. Watched your vid: got my mojo back. 2 hrs later, job done. You two give great inspiration to get on with the mundane stuff, as well as having fun....
Really good insight into Everard Junction, you gave a different perspective to the close in filming usually associated with Richard’s tutorials and updates. I like watching both your channels for ideas and inspiration. Long may it continue.
This is going to be awesome. I better stockpile some snacks and get to the gym an hour earlier for my weekend workout as I sure as heck do not want to miss this epic show!
Great to see to different railway modelers work together, Richard NJ have managed to show Richard EJ layout in a different perspective, I must admit when EJ decided to rebuild EJ, I was not sure (not knowing of the base board problems, but a better railway has been built), as for NJ electrics are a more a problem in our heads, am enjoying your station build. As for me I have gone to O gauge so, a simpler station (basic) design (as the the track takes more room, even had to cut a set track point down to fit my layout base board).
Thanks for sweating it out in both lofts for our viewing pleasure. You need to get a work bench a la Dean Park away from the heat (says the man whose work bench is 6" from his layout!) ;-)
You have that look in your eyes, "well thats it im ripping new junction up to build the new, new junction" lol. It's clear you had a fabulous time at Everard junction and im sure its been a case of is it time to go already? Great video to watch as it captchers the essence of why we all enjoy modelling, FUN. The first scene of new junction that caught my eye of the track upgrade section to me as very much as good as Everard junction interms of detail and appearance.
Well done both of you , you both have got fantastic layouts , im only just starting , learn`t some tips of both of you already . nice to see people building model railways on you tube channels meeting up together ,
definitely needs class 426 EMU for the branch line - although you would need a few litres of sleeper grime to make them true to life - spent all of my teens commuting on the Reading to Waterloo line in the 80s this layout brings back memories.
So jealous Richard, your trains too running on Everard Junc. The layout, as you said, is a true inspiration, as is yours Richard. Look forward to updates from both, when time and weather allows.
Great video, the most interesting part "it's based in the late 80s on a Tuesday afternoon. There's no Flying Scotsman , van on a bridge or 50035" ..that's the beauty and enhances the realism.
well, i’m in the midlands ready for Visiting you two great TH-camrs, in Oldbury on Sunday 07 July 2019, so looking forward to it. Both of you have Iconic Layouts. 👍Thumbs Up👍
Finally TH-cam's algorithms working in a way it should. Good to have found you, very well made video, and a great insight, I honestly didn't realise how low the new Everard Junction layout was, as Richard does such a good job with his camera angles.
Superb! Finally got to see the whole shebang! I had the sneaking suspicion you both were parched and in need of a nice pint to cool you off. Sincerely loved the entire video. Well done!
Brilliant way to see this awesome layout, you both provide great inspiration to myself as a newbie currently building a new model train layout. Thanks, Regan, BMS.
An excellent interview and visit to Everard, really enjoyed hearing Richards’s thoughts on the hobby today compared to the early days when he began the original layout.
Another superb video guys, top job as always. Good to see the two Richards again, some amazing shots from some unseen angles of the layout and an even better sense of how it is structured. By the gantry, squint your eyes and you could swear you were there with the smell of clag thick in the air.Talking of amazing, EJ Richard was born in what year? Nearly spat my coffee out there. Love the time lapse shots, Richard shuffling round in his socks. Interesting to see your modern stock running on the layout NJ Richard, still never looked out of place. Hoping to see lots more from you both, credit to all.

15:19 - wait, Richard (Everard) was born in 1992?! He's the same age as me and has produced two incredible layouts already! That's unbelievable. Also a big inspiration given I'm building an N gauge layout set in the late-1980s, so like him I don't directly remember the time period I'm modelling, but I'm fascinated by it :)
Totally enjoyed this video, and, I wouldn’t have thought Richard built the layout so low, what a great idea to gain a larger layout. I am always looking out for Richard’s next video updates. Thank you for making an interesting video. Regards Gary

Tha ks for a great video! I must admit I whimpered internally when Richard said when he was born as my memories are mainly of BR blue in the 70s! If it weren't for water tanks and modern roof trusses getting in the way I'd consider a loft layout. There'd have to be some form of ventilation/cooling in the summer though!
What a brilliant layout! The detail in what's there is stunning and the track looks so realistic, the colours are spot on! My favourite touches have got to be the traffic system and the graffiti rail terminoligy around that canal bridge. You've got me interested in both Everard and New Junction layouts. :)
Absolutely fabulous video Richard and as you say about pricing of locos etc I picked up a heljan class 58 in mainline blue for £48 from hattons back in 2011 .
Wow fabulous video been watching Richard at Everard Junction for years since he started his first layout. Some fabulous layouts on TH-cam that inspire others, yours included of course. Dean Park next?

You should buy yourself a Train Safe. Much easier and safer way to transport your trains than wrapping them in bubble wrap.
Richard and Richard, many thanks a great insight into what is clearly becoming another epic layout.
Regards Charlie from Chadwick.
Would a Bright Red HST fit on your layout Charlie... asking for a friend ;-)
Maybe ill be worthy enough to be part of this with my layout one day 😂

It is absolutely great 👍 to see a video with people that really enjoy the hobby and hanging out!!! That’s what it truly is all about!!
If you go again, take a video of one of your trains leaving your station with the New Junction sign in the background and when you get there, film a video of the same loco pulling into Everard Junction station. :)
He'll have to Finnish his station first.
Crossing parallel universes, dangerous practices lol. The world might implode ...
Just run some track between the two layouts lol
The large dedicated Fiddle Yard makes so much sense.
Low chairs on wheels would be a bonus for me anyway. Great layout!
Just what you need to be doing on a hot day: watching New Junction and Everard Junction!!👌
BBQ and a cold one!
