For all you people making totally negative comments about levers scratching the paint. It’s an off road wheel, it will be scratched, it’s what happens when you ride amongst trees, rocks, rivers, just get on with it, shit happens, life......etc. Leave the off roader in the garage, polish the thing and watch tv, or get a life, your choice. There are little items such as rim protectors if you’re really that conscious of marks on the rims.
It is really easy with Rabaconda, even with a very strong tyre (like Metzeler MC360) and hard Mousse(like Technomousse). My cheap old tyre changer (100.- low Quality, China - style) broke in two where the Rabaconda just did the Job.
Just bought one, watched the video, and for first time there was no cursing nor hard work. Love it! PS. Will kick my wife out of bed and bring my rabaconda instead. ;)
hey, I just got one too. Which tire irons did you buy with yours? I'm looking for the tire irons that were used in the video. Did you get the same ones? Hopefully the machine is working for you.
my gold africa twin wheels scratch really easy. The machine seems legit but ya the wheel protectors are crap and the levers do scratch the wheel. Cool vid though
The Rabaconda is a very useful device and big time saver. It's best-in-class at its price point. No doubt. * But I just installed two new 1-bar NitroMousses - one in a 505 Cheater and one in a Shinko Fatty - and I can tell you that my experience in no way resembled this one. The only similarity was in the mounting of the first bead. From there on my life was hell, even with $200 in irons, C-clamps, and Bead Buddies. * My only point is that there are mousse/tire combo's that go on easier than others. And the spectrum is kinda large. This is why there are numerous honest videos (like this one) showing sub-3-minute installs. Of course, nobody shows the ones that take an hour or more. That's natural. * Heck, there's even a vid showing a one-minute install using only tire irons....
I just used it for my first set of Mousses(Moussi???) It made it simple and easy. Overall time for two sets(No dismounting tires) including putting the tools away was about a half hour. It took more time to lube the tubes and carcasses. I think I will get a tire soap brush lol.
When mounting a tire the biggest trick is to get the bead of tire into the center of the rim on the opposite that you are working. This allows the tire to shift more towards the side you are working on and thus less need to stretch the tire. The bead lock prevent the tire from sitting inside the rim. Therefore working around the rim and using the space inside for the tire to sit in makes it easier to get the bead over the rim. So getting to the rim lock last requires less work and stretching of the tire. The Rabaconda tire tool just shows off that you can easily push the bead in at the bead lock which is harder to do with tire spoons
Thanks for the question! If you are not using bib mousse foam inserts, then the Street changer will be a good option. It can work with dual sport tires as well. For spoked wheels use the strap (included in the kit) instead of the metal stopper pin to fix the tire from rotating. I'll share two video: th-cam.com/video/oJ3euiI8TGg/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/sldWV7T_z_M/w-d-xo.html
Its mostly proper technique. This stand just makes it more comfortable. I change S12XC's all the time, marginally tougher than the SixDays extremes. Maybe a minute longer than the Metzelers for both front and rear.
Edgar Costa It depends on how soft is the mousse. In extreme enduro riders prefer very soft mousses and use 2 rim locks. In enduro where mousse sits more tightly in tire, usually one rim lock does the job.
I have never seen such flimsy tyres and mousses as shown in this video. I'd like to see a video from Rabaconda showing changing Michelin Bib mousses and Michelin Desert Race tyres. Thirty minutes would be a good time. Sometimes I just can't do it and it has to go to a professional tyre place.
Rims get scratched, working with irons is necessary - I don´t see the point of buying that thing!? Imo it´s just an expensive fixing stand, not a "changer"...useless for me.
Probably the only moto instructional video where a voice over is not needed. Well done.

Richard Clare thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!
Rabaconda also had the decals to protect a set of rims....just saying
Those are the super moto guys probably. No real enduro or motocross rider cares about scratching the rims.
if you are good at changing tires by hand you will barely ever scratch the rims
Nothing wrong with doing it right and keeping the color on.
I just changed mine on a padded blanket, knee pads, on the garage floor. Easy peasy.
Not one bloody knuckle in this video, I knew I was doing something wrong!

Rabaconda for the win!
Just bought one, watched the video, and for first time there was no cursing nor hard work. Love it! PS. Will kick my wife out of bed and bring my rabaconda instead. ;)

Nice bit of well engineered kit
Nice product, very good video, but why change tyres in mx outfit ?
For the fun :)

What make tyre was that because i cant get a tyre to go over rims without 15 "FFS!" And a tyre lever in my eye.
I agree that tyre pretty much fell on that rim
People always crying about scratching the wheels they don’t ride too much they are like harley riders like to just look and polish the bike,
That was an awesome video!!!
Very good equipment, I have it. Worth every penny

Why do you save the rim lock for last? I always start with my rim lock first ! So what is the advantages and disadvantages please?

Donde puedo comprar esta herramienta. Me interesa, vivo en Guatemala.
what's with the price?
I know for a fact that each time you used a tire iron it took the black off the rim. Amatures for sure.
Which model would you recommend for tire choices for a Suzuki DR 650?

Pretty cool product!
Slick vid.
Wheels always get scratched by the tools especially on Black
Хорошая работа только покрытие обода (краску) всю ободрал ."нужны подложки чтобы не царапать обод
quando vai chegar no Brasil??
Do the same demo with a michelin S12XC and I belive you. The metzler 6 days tire is just too easy..

Denali822 You put 2 rim/tire locks or it´s necessary only one?

Helpful video but that tyre is so soft, no tyre goes on that easy 😂

I wonder how long, wheel will not be scratched?. painted wheel :)
show me the same thing in 3 minutes with 2 rim locks (which are necessary with extreme mouses...)
If you do that, I buy it :)
He he didn't show putting a tube in that tire. I coukd see why it was easy n fast 😆
He is using bib mousse inserts, not air tubes

Its just changing a tire lol.... nothing difficult about it either way
поганенько, весь обод покоцал! Я руками без царапин управляюсь!.
very bad, destroyed the point ! My hand made the best! !
ELFhunteR1000 у него спонсоры, ему наверное пофиг на обод.
No verbal help either, like watching Mark Knopfler play guitar and then handing you a guitar expecting you to play lights of taomina
Rims get scratched, working with irons is necessary - I don´t see the point of buying that thing!? Imo it´s just an expensive fixing stand, not a "changer"...useless for me.
Have you ever tried putting on or taking off a tyres with a mousse tube?
Terrible music
u can do same thing with only 3 spones lol useless product
I'd like to see you do it with a spoon then 😂 😂
Bib Mousse with 3 spoons? Good luck with that.
Very bad. Destroyed the paint.
THATS THE STIG...!!!
