The Jeep built is coming along nicely; looks to be good and solid and I expect it will turn out great. The recovery was simple enough, but wow! The views and tressels were amazing!
I can't imagine how those Ol' boys put that rail line in back in the day, lots a physical labor. Great job on the jeep, hang in there Bruce you'll getter done, someday!!
I absolutely love the part where you were able to drive across the old train trestles. A couple of decades ago, I was living around the area of Lake Tahoe, specifically in Truckee. At that time there were two sets of tracks going over the summit. One set of tracks went mostly on the outside of the mountain, covered by snow sheds. The other one however went all the way through the mountain. When it was originally built they totaled down from the top to a predetermined depth, and then tunneled both directions, one going toward the summit at Soda Springs, and the other one came out of the mountain near the top of C oldstream Canyon. This was at the time when they were removing all the tracks through that section in order to redo them a little bit later. As soon as they had all the tracks and their ties out, I drove all the way through that tunnel to Soda Springs, played around in my 4x4 on top of the mountain, then I turned around and drove all the way through that tunnel back to the top of Coldstream Canyon, then continued down the dirt road through the Canyon into Truckee. Definitely a worthwhile adventure
I been thinking of a shop chair for a while now. Should give the idea to Jerryrig and get him to build one. The chair stands you up and sits you down with the shops air. You can set the seat at any height with back support to work in the shop. It's only designed to work within the length of the nearest airline but still works as a basic chair when you go to lunch.
Awesome job, even if it is just cleaning, no wonder they tried getting further, 😂 great recovery, the rig is coming together, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
Missed the premier realtime. Too busy working on my own junk. Looking forward to Thursday. Keep up the good work. You make me feel like a wuss. Had shoulder surgery a couple months ago and havent accomplished much. Getting back at it lately. Thanks for the motivation Bruce.
I could relate to that partner, because I fell off The upper platform on my car hauler and shattered my whole right shoulder. During the two years I had to wait for shoulder replacement surgery, I was unable to do almost everything, so I lost all my muscle mass and my strength in my upper body. It really sucks, because I'm still paying for that with very little strength in my arms anymore. What makes it worse is that I had a horrible crash in the desert on my dirt bike and shattered my spine. Fortunately I came out of it without being permanently crippled like Bruce is, but it makes me appreciate his situation all the much more. He deals with his disability really well. I just hope he never again does a solo recovery without having Denny or someone else along to help him, because it was agonizing watching him deal with that whole thing!
@@BruceCookfmx was able to watch most of this episode, but my smartphone is losing its "SMARTS" daily now. I'm hoping they come out with the "BRILLIANTPHONE" soon....
@@BruceCookfmx I did determine, that if I work backwards, fast enough, I can actually make forward progress. I call it "Working Backfastwards"😁 Did a video on it, but it's not as good as it should have been...🙈⚡😶☕
This is the “KVR” (kettle valley railway). This portion you’re not allowed to drive on but I do recommend renting a bike and checking it out, it’s really cool. If you access by a different road you can drive a huge portion of it with great views and drive right up beside (and actually under) one of the biggest trestles
@@BruceCookfmx Thanks! That looks fantastic to check out at least part of. I love "rails to trails" as they are more accessible for those of us who dont hike.
Handmade brackets, handmade trestle bridges... double bonus for this video!
The trestle and tunnels were so cool, thanks for bringing us along.
Tunnels and bridges, apparently added to “places you will go that I prefer to avoid”. Magnificent view though. You live in a beautiful province.
Don't forget to like when you're watching! You know you're enjoying it 😉
Lol, sorry, I like before I view! If its bad, & I remember, I could change it afterwards... (Like that might happen, lol!)
Thanks
Denny’s ‘stupid pile’ will be awesome when it’s done… :)
I refer to your "necessary tool to talk to" a lock, a "Master Key". Will unlock almost any lock.😂
Beautiful scenery. Thanks for bringing us along.
Denny's jeep is looking good! Love the recovery. 🍻

It’s SO crazy to think about. Without modern equipment and GPS etc. Mind blowing.
Good series, glad you are putting them out close together and not dragging it out for a month like some channels do.
Putting them out pretty much as fast as I can edit 😅
Some channels struggle with content, we struggle with having time to edit, as we’re always making content.
Keep going, keep going, keep going...

Got stuck out there last year in an unexpected storm.. definitely an adventure
Another great rescue, video and edit. Bruce is the brains behind this one, and turned out great. Can’t wait to wheel more soon.
What a cool treat to get to drive over those trestles!
Definitely!
That 4 link front looks great! Good stuff.
The build info was good and really enjoyed the recovery. Thanks

That would have been an incredible scenic steam train line with all those trestle bridges.
I always think how cool it would have been to ride that train line
Man, I look forward to putting my LJ up next to Denny’s!!
Me too!
lived there for a while, and didnt know this existed. thanks for sharing
Loving this series
Glad to hear it! Would like to do more
You guys are super underrated!
Thumbs up all the way !😀
Hang in there buddy ! you're in the short rows
Looks like its going together nicely. Take care.
So far so good!
Heck ya man enjoying the videos ! Sick Jeep build also
Love the views, also am a railroad fan.
Just unreal to picture them building that 100 years ago
Keeping track of hours on a project should be done more often for the DIY crowd
The once that I’ve remembered. It’s not exact but pretty close 👍🏻
Wow that was a unique recovery, interesting😆 use of an old RR right of way!!!!
You have my name on your straps😎🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸😎
I get a chuckle too! We have a locally based shop "Erickson Rigging & Crane"! Have used them to swing trusses & beams for 50 years!
Loved the recovery in the park. Those trestle trails look awesome.
Unique one for sure!
Great video!! No complaints with that recovery, easy & awesome drive

That’s definitely one to let heal. Any joint for that matter 🍻
Both of us had a bad shoulder for this build. What are the odds?…. We learned that if you keep grinding, that stupid shoulder will deal. 😂
Oh, you best know I got the Bell on 🔔 hard at work I can only imagine
Evening Bruce. Made it
Thanks for joining!
Can’t wait to see it rolling!
That was a beautiful little ride, can’t wait to do some of that with the family. Gotta get out of Texas first🤣🫡
Sooooo close!
Nice!
Let's Go! Looking forward to whatever you got for us, cus I know it'll be good stuff! 🦅💪
Cool view and middle fringe Casey ladel he has striking resemblance to templtin the weasel of charlets web check if fact check it lol
Looking forward for the test drive.
👍👍
Me too!
Me three!!!
It is interesting seeing the scale following the Mazda Ranger on the way back. I had no idea how big the tunnel was on your way out.
Huge! 😃 built to fit a large train with room to spare
Let's Gooo
Can’t believe they were stuck !
2 wheel drive
Great video! Are you interested in sponsorship collab? We have some lighting stuff for Jeep that you may be interested in testing.
If God meant for all welders to do perfect welds, God wouldn't have had man invent grinders😁
