I was up in arms too until i saw that 100% of the proceeds from the limited edition stuff were going to Helene relief efforts. Still can’t afford it but I respect the hustle
I need WK for my 60s, but this seems like a super cool project, also wild to see a PCB simultaneously support MX and EC! Best of luck to the designers, I hope this sells well! Also PP plate + gummy O ring mount in a 60% sounds very lively imo, big fan!
$500 is outrageous without knowing the context, but it's a beautiful passion project with features never done before. I can respect it, but it's not for me
I agree! This whole project is very niche and personally I think it is expensive, but I agree, there is clearly a lot of passion (see the geekhack link) that went into this and the fact the designer will be doing a small batch in stock makes this a very low risk for the people interested. Yes it's expensive, but I am glad it's running for what it's worth. I don't use this layout at all but I hope for those interested they can enjoy it.
Alex I was considering getting the qk65v2 due to the lighter sound profile and I was looking for a sound similar to that with a pricepoint at most 200, Im not sure if the qk54v2 is the best option and I was wondering what you would recommend if the qk65v2 is not the best aluminium 65 percent.
desperately need that orange PC on a more affordable board lol it looks soooooo good. really sick idea tho!! the mx/ec pcb + 2 plates definitely justifies the price point a bit more. i love this project :)
bet that is Cipulot PCB, my attetion are all turn to the pcb but all the image they post is about the case, welp gotta find that pcb info somewhere else
I get that it's innovative but I'd much rather have 2 PCBs so I can more easily swap between MX and EC easily on the same chassis. With just 1 PCB I have to re-build more whenever I want to switch.
Hmm, I think you should do more reading before making statements that clearly show a lack of research. This board has more passion and attention to detail than most, and some features were planned but just weren’t included in the prototype. Ohh and for clarification, this is a polycarbonate board that is CNC’d, not just a standard “plastic” and is not injection-molded. It takes significant R&D effort and is nowhere near as simple as it might seem. Next time you might want to get your facts straight and do some proper research next time. Not saying you can’t like a board, but you shouldn’t spread misinformation.
actually for the daughterboard, not that important. it is not bear much mechanical stress. for screws holding together the top and bottom case together, i would definitely want inserts. however this is a o-ring mount so no such screws are involved.
@@LostInTypingit takes no more than”r&d effort” than aluminum lol. And there are plenty of well made aluminum boards in HHKB layout for like half this price. Adding on the price of domes and springs and shit and this is a $700+ board which is RIDICULOUS. It’s not 2020 anymore.
The GMMK 3 PRO HE has MX and HE on the same pcb but they are limited to Outemu switches only which are by far the worst HE switches out there. That being said a fully complete 65% or 75% GMMK 3 PRO HE is cheaper than this board which is kind of wild. $500 is wildly steep. Must have expected a small MOQ.
It's gunna be in stock and has a tiny MOQ. These more niche projects even come close to the scale that large companies put out! I think there are a lot of stark differences between this and the GMMK 3 PRO HE model.
I was initially interested in a aluminum version, but that orange one is insane. I need that Orange Poly build.
yeah the orange is reminding me of like orange soda in a bottle
I will be missing that $500 so no thanks

That MX sound profile though
I love the way how you put in the time for each video! Also can you help me find a pcb board so I can build a custom keyboard like tkl size
that orange color is great. sounds good for a plastic keyboard

what are the green/beige keycaps on the keyboard at 0:00?
Emma!
@@curtkirkhoff9781 thank you so much!
that pcb is crazy innovative
Definitely not for me, but I can appreciate a cool project like this. That orange looks great though
Is there a particular reason why the bottom space bar row isn't centered the board?
This is the original HHKB layout with a 6u spacebar
Original HHKB layout
looks like a giant gummybear type of color, love the orange!
would have loved an EC build on this, honestly. Feel like there isnt a lot of topre content on youtube
The milled POM plate is actually huge. EC is also still super niche so 500 USD makes complete sense
Gimme all the HHKB and EC content :)
"Oh nice keyboard!"
*Goes to link*
*Sees price tag*
"Nevermind"
one of the coolest projects this year imo

I love the hybrid pcb but the case design is not for me. Love to see this pcb in other boards
I thought moment 60 is my endgame... but this is very tempting
pretty cool
It looks amazing, but the price is literally so expensive especially right now when you can have a great keyboard way cheaper than this.
Lucky65 v2 review when
This looks so good! PC boards get me going 💦💦💦
lowkey looks like akko's hhkb keeb
beauty...
Why type the same thing over and over? Legit curious since it doesn't give a great example of the full sound.
$500 for a plastic 60% keyboard is wild, no thanks
damn
idk im still fighting my charges from noxary....
Entering a hobby and charging $500 for their first project....
Imagine trying to sell plastic for 500 bucks in 2024 lmao, good riddance
No option to have this as anyhting else than a true HHKB layout... Easy pass to me honestly.
Its a specific project!
So it's just the Akko ACR59 but 4 times the price?
@@Trickshotter so the Akko is just a dell keyboard but 10x the price and half the size?
@@alexotos well, can't argue against that
Anybody wanna loan me $500?
$500 plastic board without threaded inserts..."attention to details"...
No, thanks.
They had mentioned this was not included in the proto and let me know on the stream this was already planned for final units.

Once you factor in the cost of domes and stuff this is a $700+ board. This is Norbauer levels of delusion.

500$?? What's this, pandemic fomo era??😂
$500 for pc? Fuck no
Grossely overpriced in the post-pandemic era. Half the price and I would have interest in it. The case colour is very nice, though.
