      WRONG! It is broadcast, or recorded, in mono, and so that's all we get as playback. I have a very decent system(8.1 stand-alone surround) and know my settings well, so it's not that.
      You might as well tell someone to unplug and plug back in their router, LOL!

      It's not. However from certain perspectives it may appear to be, since the individuals or groups who own that particular network are powerful lobbyists & have a great interest in politics. So they ultimately determine what type of news and programming gets aired on their network in favor for their agenda and that of the party/politician they support. So when a network airs certain material in favor of one party or to repudiate another, it's really because the owner of the network has special interests tied to "X" party or politician.

    • @rwm1980
      @rwm1980 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      when they send news reports direct to a party to be edited and those that speak the truth are fired what u have here is state run media! this is not journalism!

    So let me get this straight.... The US sets up military bases around the world, more than any other country on planet earth. They have a history of going into South America and now the middle east funding radical Islamic groups to destabilize the governments so they can go in for a power grab and now they are ramping up huge military action at Russia's front door even trying to get even closer by taking over the former soviet country Ukraine? And they call Russia the aggressor who needs to step back? Maybe the US should mind their own business and stop their globalist agenda and their consolidation of power. They mask their aggression with this "freedom" horseshit. Who appointed the US to be the world's decision maker? The US isn't spreading freedom, they don't even want freedom for their own people why would they give "freedom" to anyone else? Every country they touch turns into a chaotic pit of hell. The US is literally trying to take over the globe and they are attacking the last countries who stand up for themselves. "Oh the Russians in Syria!" Who the fuck funded all those "moderate rebels" with weaponry? Who funded the Islamist groups in Afghanistan in the 1980's with surface to air stinger missiles and transported them through Pakistan? The US did along with their Saudi buddies like Osama Bin Laden. They're so full of shit it's unreal, they teach lies in their history books and paint themselves as the moral ones no matter what the situation is.

      The problem is, let's be hypothetical and pretend everyone in the world did see this no matter their demographic location. Russian citizens would most likely be seeing this for the very first time and would not coincide with everything they are being told by their state-run media outlets and Putin himself. They would be heavily confused and much like we vice versa think that this video was an attempt at using anti propaganda to confuse and turn them against their own country. This is why propaganda no matter who and where you are is a very very dangerous game. On one hand it lies and tries to sway your opinion but on the other hand it can be viewed as anti propaganda against your own government and actually create a much higher sense of nationalism that can be dangerous. It's a vicious cycle

    Russian over here. NATO should stop to exist. As Rogozyn put it, NATO is outdated organization, and it was created 70 ago (!!!) to oppose Soviet Union and suppress posible German agression. Now, NATO has more soldiers, more tanks, more weaponary than Russia and it's just amusing when American media tell us about Russian agression. Are we insane or what?? How the hell Russia can oppose world's largest military alliance which is lead by world's economical hegemon?
    So, Russia is defending. And one of the ways to defend is to attack, what we see now. All these international problems are from misunderstanding and portraying each side as a devil. We should relax and find a compromise.

    • @rogerduval5594
      @rogerduval5594 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      +EzioAuditore714 You are adorable. First, I should say that there is a political science called international relations. One of the theories states, that when you're building a wall on your borders and arm yourself with defensive weaponary, that's only make your opponents beyond the wall more hostile and nervous, because they don't know if you are sincere in your peaceful intentions of protecting yourself. They think that you can attack from this wall and then hide, and they don't have ability to strike you back, because you have built a thick wall. This theory discribes why we shouldn't establish anti missile systems, which can demolish other side's nuclear potential. But I think that this theoretical example can be implemented on NATO's enlargement towards our borders. I hope you understand.
      Now, let me tell what's going on in my country, alright? I don't know what's on our president mind, but Russia is too weak to restore Sovient Union. And has no intention to do it. Russia just protects its interests, like any other state and has a right to do it.
      We have opposition, we have non-state media (god, are you really think that we have only 3 media stations?), which critisize current government, I don't know why do you think we don't have freedom to speak up, really. Nobody is opressed, Russian people have been electing Putin because most of the population like him. It's very simple.

      +Adnan Kashogi Listen, we totally fucked that up. The lack of repercussions on a national level are a tragic and it's only because we're on top of the pile. I'm not sure how to make that mistake right. However, the "invasion" of Iraq wasn't a war for territory. Most likely financial gain from war profiteering, also Sadam was a monster, but intentions are important when considering military action.
      Russia's annexation of Crimea and involvement in Ukraine's civil war seem to be a way of diverting the population away from paying attention to the government. It sounds the old horn of the Soviet Union to those who look to the past, which is an easy way to distract the Russian population from noticing their economy collapsing, their severe isolation from the international community that's been growing since WWII and the outright theft of the country's money into the pocket's of the county's elite. We're kinda fucked here in America too, but the majority of world nations seem to side with us in this conflict. it's important to know when you're the odd man out and to figure out why.

    Normally every media takes support of region where it belongs that might be US or Russia or even middle east alzazeera media which always support pro Muslim or pro Arab sentiments.
    And the real problem is western media influences not only their region but also much larger part of the world due to which in my country (i.e India) people mostly thinks that Russia must have done something very bad due to which sanctions have been put on it without knowing any background.

      mikeyman2010 most of the arguments being made in the comments are asinine. Like this notion that the US is the aggressor, when the Russians are doing their damnest to annex the Ukraine. The US isn't annexing other countries like Russia is, we're not perfect, but this false equivalency these bots try to draw is a bullshit argument.

    The Russians so far have out-foxed the West, They have seized Crimea and annexed it into the Russian Federation in a new style of warfare. They are blunting rebels in Syria but are on the offensive with the Syrians and Iranians in Syria as they encircle Aleppo, they are also making Turkey nervous as the Kurds and Ruso-Syrian alliance are sealing off the border to Turkey from ISIS and other militants. All this as Western agencies speculated that Russia was on a decline.The Russian bear has come out from hibernation.

      Hey, it's all thanks to Putin. He plays chess while NATO plays checkers. He's willing to do whatever it takes to increase Russia's power and prestige so that the U.S. will finally acknowledge Russia as a fellow Great Power, as well as recognizing all that that entails, such as spheres of influence. The U.S. considers all of the Americas to be within our sphere of influence, but we act as if the Ukraine is not within the Russian sphere of influence.

    • @Cosmo1093
      @Cosmo1093 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      +Patrick Dodds The US will recognize China as a "fellow Great Power" before Russia. Russia simply isn't going to be a superpower again for quite some time -- they are only a regional power. Neither their economy nor military is strong enough. Even ignoring how the Russian economy is struggling, it was never all that large to begin with. Meanwhile, the Russian military lacks the capabilities to project power like the US can. The airstrikes in Syria are already pushing Russia's logistical limits.

    • @worlde499
      @worlde499 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Cosmo1093 militarily Russia is very strong, and can project power if they needed too, it just costs money something they are not willing to spend without a good reason.
      You know Russia has a draft they could have 50 million soldiers ready in 2 days to be deployed, while it would take USA a year to get as many.
      This of course if no nukes are used and even in this department Russia is doing better, their is a reason why the pentagon upgraded Russia as 2 most threat to USA after ISIS a not china.
      Never underestimate Russian military, they always seem weak in the beginning but when the fighting starts like a bear you are in big trouble.

    • @Cosmo1093
      @Cosmo1093 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      World E "and can project power if they needed too" -- Only on a regional scale, not a global scale. Practically speaking, global power projection requires a blue water navy and aircraft carriers. Russia hasn't had that capability since the fall of the USSR. To that end, France and the UK can more effectively project power than Russia.
      "it just costs money something they are not willing to spend without a good reason." -- Russia can't even be bothered to spend the money on guided munitions. They're still dropping general-purpose unguided bombs over populated areas of Syria, sometimes even from helicopters. It's hardly an improvement over Assad's "barrel bombs".
      "Russia as 2 most threat to USA after ISIS a not china." -- Yes, and that is because Russia and ISIS are being more belligerent to the US/NATO than China is. China has been antagonizing its neighbors in the South China Sea, but they haven't been threatening European nations with nukes or other "military consequences".
      "You know Russia has a draft they could have 50 million soldiers ready in 2 days to be deployed" -- That's hilarious. Can you even comprehend the equipment, logistics, and training required to turn 50 million draftees into soldiers? The entire Warsaw Pact at its height lacked that sort of capability. Russia has massive stockpiles of weapons and vehicles, but that equipment requires a lot more than 2 days to bring out of storage.

    • @Cosmo1093
      @Cosmo1093 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      World E "they were never about sea warfare" -- In the 21st century, a blue water navy is more about power projection than naval warfare. It is how militaries are able to project power on a global scale in the absence of nearby resources or runways. For example, Russia wouldn't be able to carry out bombing missions in Syria without establishing that airbase in Syria, but the US and France can still launch from their carriers. That kind of capability is what separates regional powers from global powers, and is why the USSR had invested in a blue water navy and several aircraft carriers of its own.
      "But they got a very good submarine fleet that can wipe out most of the US navy if they had too." -- The fundamental reason Russia and China have to rely on asymmetrical tactics is because it can't compete with the US otherwise. It's the only way they can hope to counter a global superpower.
      "I was talking about how the draft has already trained 50 million soldiers." -- That's great, but you still need to arm, equip, feed, and move them. Numbers are irrelevant without the logistics to support them. Unarmed and starving soldiers aren't particularly useful. Logistics are how wars are won or lost.
      And on the note of logistics, Russia's bombing campaign in Syria is already stretching the Russian military thin. They've had to buy 4 horribly obsolete cargo ships from Turkey in order to sustain their mission in Syria.
      "but if they really wanted too they could do as they have the resource to do so." -- Not without spending a completely unsustainable amount of their GDP to completely overhaul their military.

      Would the U.S. risk nuclear war with Russia to protect Estonia? Or Lithuania? Or Latvia? I know that I wouldn't want us to, and many Americans don't either. That's not much reassurance for the Baltic states, or other small states with Russian minorities, especially if those minorities have been mistreated, and as such are dissatisfied. If Putin sent the Russian army into Estonia using the casus belli of protecting Russian minorities, do you think the U.S. would truly treat it as if Russia had invaded sovereign U.S. territory (as the NATO treaty claims we must treat it)? I'm surprised that Putin hasn't done it yet. Maybe he's waiting for the next election to show how strong he is to the Russian people, idk.

    • @dlow53
      @dlow53 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Patrick Dodds Just look at the process of how that event would start. Russia would definitely overrun the Baltic states but with consequences. Then NATO would begin their build up to liberate it. It will come down to the theater of war. As long as US or Russia don't attack each others territory I don't think it'll escalate into a nuclear war. But then again it'll come down to who ever is loosing what desperate measures would they take.

    21:21 - in Ukraine, Baltic statelets, Armenia, Azerbaijan with their Karabakh ethnic war and many others there are no "nations". Just tribes and ethnic grups who are alien and often hostile to each other. Washington and Brussels simply labels one tribe as "titular" and another one as "minority" and then gives to "titulars" all support to crush down the rest. That is their "democracy". That is the root case for Ukrainian conflict.

    I have to say this was a pretty bad piece, 42 minutes and all they did was let each side parrot their position without question lending to the idea that each side's point carried equal merit. There isn't really a debate here, Russia's aggressiveness led to the situation in Ukraine and the heightened tensions between the West. Also, the so called "golden era" of the 90's is a lie the only reason Russia wasn't hostile to the West back then was because their economy was in shambles and they were focusing still on how to feed themselves. By the time Putin came back into power Russia had regained economic and military strength and was thus able to reassert itself within political/international affairs.

      Simon Otroskey is 100% my favorite journalist period on anything But he only has a small lead in another named Isobel Yeung. There are some rare cases where I enjoy Isobel's Moore then Simon only because they both ask very good and tough questions, they attempt to get the story from both sides or unusual views, but Simon asks those questions in more of an "making fun of" kind of way where the question is rhetorical and he knows what you are going to say. When Isobel asks those same tough questions but she will say "so let's flip sides and the roles were reversed do you still think that you are in the right?" But she does it in an aggressive way. Almost like she's attacking your credibility and puts heavy heavy pressure on who she's interviewing. Two different styles of journalism but same loving results.
