Big difference! I´m interested for sure. You might want to check out the Claude Lakey Compass ligature and also the Ligaphone Universal ligature made in Paris. Thanks for putting this info out here for the saxophone community.
I didn't want to hear a difference, I was convinced that it was a sort of "placebo" effect, but I CAN hear a difference and I like it. DAMN. I would love to hear the comparison in studio quality audio.
Sirvalor...great review. I mysef have the prelude ( cheaper ) version. It has a different locking mechanism so im wondering if the price differene is justyfied. It costs half of your version. Might be worth to give it a try? I did notice the same as you. Better response and easier to blow, specially in the low region of the horn. Brsides that it opens up the sound and makes it a bit fuller with more projection.
I’m playing an original Theo Wanne Durga (9) and I use the provided ligature. I’ll have to try these. Sounds great on the JBX. The Marble was excellent as well. Thanks.
Thanks for the content yet again! Been looking at these for a while but i just couldn’t work out if it would even be a worth while purchase, but I think I may just give it a go now!
I didn't hear a lot of difference like I did with the Cryo Gold one you reviewed for metal MP's. But if it feels a lot different that can be enough for me to try one out. I have to say that the Daddario Jazz select mouthpiece was like that for me. I have never owned a Mp that the reeds fit so well (jazz select) and it plays so easy. I don't know why but I love that MP for that reason. Again I hope you can compare this Lig to the Cyro Gold to do an A-B. Love the videos keep posting!
Have you tried the little rubber feet that came with it?I find it seems to move around a lot but I haven't tried the rubber feet yet? Do they change the sound and keep it from moving?
I use Vandoren redbox 2.5 reeds. Also, you can check here for whatever mouthpiece you have to size the right Silverstein ligature: www.silversteinworks.com/ligature-size-selection/
Sirvalorsax thanks friend!!.. hey , I have the impression that the D’addario has more projection then the Vandoren T6... uat do you think ? I think I’ll buy the D’addario for me... could you tell uat is your favorite reed for the D’addario nouadays?? Thanks man ... And I love the intros of your chanel haha
Sax players freak out when the sound is awesome, which is cool 😎but..... if you look at what is in the build of the ligature, can the price be justified?
Carbon Black Ligature Medium HR Tenor. They have a list of mouthpieces on their website that tell you which one fits what mouthpiece you have. Mine was the HR Otto Link that happens to work on this as well.
Thank you. Try string!? That's what early clarinet players did and many German and Austrian players still do. I suspect that's where Silverstein got the idea from? God bless. Bill - UK
This isn't carbon fiber. It's more of a marketing tool. I would have to compare them side by side to do a more thorough review. I have noticed that the Silverstein ligatures don't restrict the reed's vibrational movement like other ligatures.
It's kind of hard to do a side by side comparison because I can't use the same mouthpiece for each one but... Having the extra "fine tuners" allows for greater adjustment capabilities. I'm currently debating which one to get for my soprano

You sounded great on both ligatures!
I play exact same mouthpiece! Excellent!

Nice review, thanks for posting. BTW, I really like your darker tone with the New Vintage 5* Link.

The feel difference is greater than the sound difference.
I love your tone on any mouthpiece lig reed combo. So many dudes get thin in the upper register but you always sound full.
I'll soon be posting a Cane vs Synthetic reed comparison. Thanks

@@iamtubuler9266 I have had very good success with the ligature so I haven't tried that little rubber thing.

Which size ligature did you get that fits on the HR Datta? Is it the Metal Medium(size 4)?

Yes using string is what the German clarinet players didin the 1800's and 1900's.
Is it audible that black carbon fiber gives a darker sound than the silver finish silverstein?
This isn't carbon fiber. It's more of a marketing tool. I would have to compare them side by side to do a more thorough review. I have noticed that the Silverstein ligatures don't restrict the reed's vibrational movement like other ligatures.
@@Sirvalorsax To do this, you have to get the silver finish, will you get It in the future?
@@jimis3167 It is very likely that I will but It will be for clarinet

Is the creo4 better than the black one ?
The cryo 4 gives me more adjustability with the ligature by virtue of the extra bars so I'd have to say yes. I really like both of these ligatures
They all sound exactly the same .Emperors new clothes syndrome if you ask me . Sorry. Far out playing though.
Thanks for tuning in to my channel
