    The Arthur Brown record you're showing, 'Journey' is in its American sleeve. The original was on Polydor with a photo of a rose on the front cover. Arthur Brown's 'Kingdom Come' released three albums. 'Journey' (1973) was the last and most accessible of the three. You really have to hear 'Galactic Zoo Dossier' (1971). Arthur Brown was like Tom Jones on acid...

      Galactic Zoo Dossier is really good, another recommendation for that from me.

    Deep Purple’s Machine Head ( 1972) was a milestone in the history of hard rock, a great release by a legendary hard rock band . - I think it is far superior to Boston’s debut LP . I was a freshman in college when Boston came out in August of 76 , and I thought it was radio-friendly soft rock , to be generous . Nice catchy melodies and hooks, but nothing approaching Space Truckin, Highway Star ,Lazy, Pictures of Home or Smoke on the Waa-tur…Gillian, Lord, Blackmore- legends all…

    • @RocknRonni

    That's a great video. I really like Kingdom Come. I was surprised to see it because the cover is different from the usual one I see if the rose on it. I kind of like the US cover better.
    For me that is the better of the three KC records and extensive use of the mellotron make it a must for fans of the instrument.
    I may be wrong but I think Journey was the first album to feature an early version of a drum machine.

    • @RocknRonni
      @RocknRonni  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah this Kingdom come record is a Canadian pressing which I didn't talk about in the video.
      I used to have the other crazy world of Arthur Brown record but this is the only one I own now.
      it doesn't get played enough as it is.
      it's really good record. Thanks so much for your comments much appreciated

    Interesting that the pressing you have of Dragonfly is the Reissue from Spain! Is the sound pretty good because it costs a lot less than the originals at about $300 or so! I listened to some of it, pretty damn good! 👍
    Never heard of The Human Instinct, I thought they sounded pretty Groovy! Now downloading their entire discography in FLAC. I really liked the song Jug-a-Jug.
    Get Down, Get Goin', Get Funky! 😁
    Hmmm, didn't know about the Who MCA record, interesting... I have some SuperDisk version but I haven't listened to it in a long time. I thought I heard that Kevin Gray was going to do another version here soon. Just looked it up on Discogs... The first 180 gram vinyl 'Audiophile' listing for MCA is the 1995 pressing by, believe it or not, Kevin Gray! I bet that is the one you have, mastered from the original tapes. I'm still checking and the cover picture doesn't show that hype sticker, but it sure sounds like it! Yep, that's the label! Very highly spoken of on Discogs. There is a NM pressing for $100.
    Good adjustment on the top 10, adding Who's Next & Boston 👍
    REALLY like the Illusions on a Double Dimple! Great stuff Bro! I found a 1st UK VG+ pressing that the seller says is closer to NM for about $20 shipped! I've already written the seller about it 😁 They are a German group, so I'm wondering if the 1st German pressing would be better. But, I'm thinking that if you have the Japanese, they likely would have the same mastering as the UK.
    Love hearing about these groups I've never heard of. I've downloaded SO many groups that you have turned me on to 😊 And I can tell you made a *BIG* effort to show the album cover and clearly state the groups and name of the albums 😁 Thanks Ron!

    • @RocknRonni
      @RocknRonni  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you notice I've made sure I'm repeating the name and saying it very distinctly because it was pointed out to me I wasn't doing a very good job of that and I try to make good videos. thank you my friend. Just as someone was pointing out that my video quality wasn't very good last year so I've now doing 4K. I had a fellow from work suggest I use a better microphone so now I am doing that as well.
      yeah the dragonfly record sounds really good and it is the Kevin Gray remaster as you pointed out. I also remember the old Janus Canadian pressing original of illusions on a double dimple sounded great as well.

    • @RocknRonni
      @RocknRonni  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Of course I mentioned these records in earlier videos but seems most people haven't watched the older videos so I'm going to bring them back out and we're going to talk about some of these records again like I'm doing with Triumvirat. Also had another fellow comment that he hadn't heard of triumvirat after listening he absolutely loves the band. I replied that's why I said in the video it's one of my top 10 favorite records 😎
