- A powerful group of lions, the Nsefu pride, are busy digging into a recent buffalo kill when they are disturbed by a herd of elephants. Both sides immediately switch to high alert.

Imagine being so big and powerful, you can scatter a pride of lions like a bunch of alley cats.
It is rare to see animal that’s actually got a good heart and have a sense of empathy even not for his own kind but for different species

the elephants are peace keepers of the wild, she ran over to see if the animal was still alive and when she said it had already died she left the lions alone
I know you posted this a year ago, but I think you are right. That elephant went over there to try and save that buffalo.

I think she felt the pain and trauma that buffalo went through ,even though it was not an elephant.Elephants have high levels of empathy.

Wrong, Lions are the top predators in the world after humans, remember we don't wanna debate about one on one strength, what we should consider is who is the prey and who is the predator.
Lions often hunt elephants, not necessarily full sized ones but there have been instances.
No animal hunts lions except for humans.
Elephants do have empathy for other animals but I think the reason why she did that to the buffalo is to make the lions be aware that they shouldn't mess with her and their herd. She's too brave to make a warning, truely a queen💚
Elephants are intelligent enough to know there crazy strength they posses. They defiantly show that in advance so potential predators don't disturb there young ones .
And it was apparently the theirs time they ran into that Pride. She left a message for real. Lucky for those lions the young male wasn’t larger.

But they weren't messing with her, it was the total opposite of that. She was the rude granny that ran over to another family's table throwing a tantrum while they were sitting there eating and ignoring her and her family.

Traditionally the lion has been crowned king of the jungle, but when one observes a lion and elephant encounter in the African wild it is clear to see that king lion has a healthy respect for elephant.

Funny, because lions aren't usually found in the jungle. The real title should be reserved for tigers, they are the biggest of the cats in the wild.

It was pulling on the buffalo to help it get up but then realised it was dead.
Elephants making sure that wasn't one of them being eaten. Since it was a buffalo and not one of them they went about their business.

Yeah, that's the explanation I'm leaning towards too. If any lions come after any of her babies, she's going to make it impossible for the lions to live there. She's showing the lions that she has the power to do that.

I think elephants have a lot of empathy. They distressed by the sight of another life lost. They have no idea its the circle of life.
They do know it's the circle of life. They just know better than the lions when it comes to maintaining the survival of many.

Did anyone notice that the elephant was Tuskless? I think her behavior was showing the lions that if they got too near to her babies that she would squish them with her head also just like she did with the buffalo! It was a warning.
I said the same thing. It was clearly warning the lions that she would crushed them if they came close. I saw one video where the narrator said if elephants feels threatened they show off there powers and strength as a warning sign to back up.

Elephants are know to hunt down lions. They are the only predators that have killed their calves. If it’s a mother with cubs alone, the risk is even bigger as the cubs are easy targets and the no they can not stop 6-8 tons of an angry beast.

The baby elephant is in mortal danger that's why they are so nervous. Although there is a pride of lions that specialize in hunting elephants even grown elephants the grown ones really have nothing to fear.

The narrator didn’t even recognize the empathy displayed by the elephants towards the carcas the lions were feasting on. Humans can learn a lot from these so called inferior elephants about empathy.
