Spurgeon was brilliant. Many still read his sermons.

Albert has no clue, in my opinion. Many worship the Southern Baptist more than Jesus.

What Dr. Mohler describes certainly sounds like what's occurring in the SBC. And ha--my Episcopalian friend "wondered," if "perhaps" his mommy's female "pastor" friend in Elgin, Illinois who idolizes Beth Moore was indeed liberal, but with his "good head on his shoulders " he did not "need" Scripture to clarify the issue and found shelter for his unbelief in the OPC in Crystal Lake, Illinois, which was too "nice," polite, and superficial to hurt poor Richie's tender and sensitive feelings concerning his mommy's lack of biblical judgement and discernment concerning her equally social-club Episcopalian "church." But sadly, this talk does not cover for Dr. Mohler's own lack of conservative conviction, which is why he lost the election as president of the SBC.

Didn't the SBC vote for a proven plagiariser instead?

@@HearGodsWord Yes. Two of them in a row actually. What's really sad is the fact that Mohler is clearly woke but not woke ENOUGH for the heretics infesting the SBC these days. Go check out the stuff going on at First "Baptist" Orlando. Justin Peters has some videos on it. It's absolutely outrageous.

Interesting. Spurgeon got caught up in that controversy for standing up for sound doctrine against the downgrade of the syncretism of his day. Yet, Dr. Mohler's continued non-participation in the SBC's CRT/Critical Social Justice debate as well as his silence on the sins of Ed Litton ring out like a clarion call to suggest Dr. Mohler wouldn't side with Spurgeon then or now. Downgrade caused a heartbreak in Spurgeon that he never recovered from. I don't see any such similar stand or heartbreak in Dr. Mohler or the rest of the increasingly apostate "leaders" of the SBC. For a student of history and someone who seems to think himself aware enough to know when he brushes up against history, Dr. Mohler seems unable to recognize that history is repeating himself within his own convention and instead of being a Charles Spurgeon of the 21st Century, he's become a chameleon. Pity too.

Mohler might be a weather vein.

Spurgeon's Theological education was his home library on the Puritans as a child growing up.

If Spurgeon flew by the seat of his pants come preaching time, isn't much wonder why he may not have had a plan. Or perhaps he chose not to go that far.

Is this a political message? please tell us the failures of Billy Graham.

The irony of a woke snake like Mohler standing up here talking about the downgrade controversy is staggering. Go watch him cry when Phil Johnson called him out.
