One of my favorite things about this episode is the parallel between Sera, Lucifer, and Carmilla. None of them like the exterminations (even in the storybook intro to episode 1 you can see Adam grinning as he begins the attack but Sera looks genuinely sad), and they all had a chance to stop or at least ATTEMPT to stop them... But they all chose not to and to let all those other sinners die because they believed it was the best way to protect their daughters/daughter figures
If ya look closely and pay attention, you can see a spider angel in the first song. That would be Angel’s sister Mollie. Also, Pentious is just a nervous noodle and we love him for it
5:04, 5:10 - I was shocked and happy to see Molly make her debut. It's so sweet and I hope her and Anthony (AKA Angel Dust) meet up someday. It'll be so sweet for siblings to meet. And then Angel will tell about his mobster family.
First, Emily and Charlie killed it. Second, I loved that Angle who started out not caring about the hotel at all had grown to be the embodiment of everything Charlie started the hotel to be.
Well no. Alistar wasn't 'frightened' by Lucifer or the thought of losing his place. He is intelligent enough to know Charlie wouldn't ignore him even with Lucifer helping. It was all to do with no being recognized in those first few minutes. You have to remember his backstory. He turned up in hell as seemingly a nobody, Moving in secret he starts taking down Overlords through unknown means. Then broadcasts his triumphs over them for all to witness. Alistar is a showman and 'entertainer.' Though he is also very vain and egotistical. The greatest insult he gives people, like Sir Pentious, is the 'Who are you? How are you relevant? Are you powerful or is it relying on others?' treatment. He needs to be feared, respected or seen as an equal by others. So getting that from Lucifer, the biggest bad in hell, and realizing that he actually means it insulted Alistar to his core. Thus he goes for the weak spot. That strained relationship between father and daughter. It was all about hurting Lucifer in a way he'd be remembered without directly getting into a fight. Also yes the Exterminators wear masks. Don't worry though. I've watched a lot of reactions to this and plenty of people don't realize till this point.
That's a good read on Alastor. And thanks for the validation re:masks. I was worried I was the only one, lol. In my defense, Adam eats and drinks through his.
@@chicanimereacts Thank you. Also yes him being able to consume things through the mask is a touch odd. Though in the pilot you actually see Lute with her mask off before it flickers to life in the intro. Which is what gave me the hint they were probably masks or that the Exterminators were artificial in some manner.
Alastor is a psychopath who makes sure to always be the most powerful in a room, he was frightened by Lucifer because he knew he would not be able to be control and more powerful than him so instead he tried to gain power over him, in a psychological way. It wasn’t due to him not being recognized but that Lucifer was more powerful than him and could not be controlled or frightened
@@thefiendish186 well sure, but biblically lucifer was just a king of babylon, not a fallen angel, and the serpent in the garden was just a serpent. and lilith was just a screeching owl (or at most a bird demon) in the desert.

actually i also didn't catch the timeskip at first. in the last episode, charlie says to lucifer when he asks her where she's been, "i told you, dad. five months ago when you called me-" referring to the intial meeting with her and adam. but yeah this episode was a LOT lol. excited to see your reaction to the next episodes!
Right, but this could still be at the top of that month was my thought. Giving them all of month five and six. I think that's what I was assuming. For some reason.
Am I the only ones that finds it completely bullshit how Sera ruled that there are no evidence a soul can be redeemed after Angel Dust completed the list of recquirements that was provided by them? To me, that is one of the things that shows how much hypocritical Heaven is
I mean, notice how she changes the wording that she uses. At the start of the trial, she said "whether a soul can be redeemed *_by means of the Hazbin Hotel_* " Whereas she ends the trial with "no evidence that a soul *_can be redeemed_* " This was always going to be the outcome, because Sera doesn't believe in the core premise of it. Now granted, I don't trust that "list of requirements", because Adam made it up on the spot, and Adam is... well, Adam. But, we also know that Heaven is basically a black box even to its own residents. They don't know how it works, just that it does. And when your job is to make sure it *_keeps_* working, all that really leaves you with is just maintaining the status quo. So in Sera's case, it is hypocrisy, but I do feel it's hypocrisy borne out of ignorance. As far as she (or anyone else for that matter) is aware, a soul in Hell has never been redeemed in all the thousands of years the Heaven/Hell system has existed, therefore it's impossible. Hence why she calls Charlie "misguided".
I have thought that it was a week between 2 and 3, another week or so between 3 and 4, a month between 4 and 5, and about three months between 5 and 6 (figuring it might take Lucifer some time to arrange the meeting) but between 6 and 7, there might be like two or three hours, then another month between 7 and 8.
I really don’t understand why there are some conservatives that have a problem with this show. It’s full of positive Christian themes. Charlie is Awesome. Redemption, second chances, forgiveness,Love. Plus this Show’s musical numbers put Disney to shame. The show also Exposes hypocrites. I’d consider myself a conservative & this show is fantastic ❤❤❤. I just don’t get they’re beef with the Show.

Absolute perfection. Nails the paradise lost reference/formulation too.

Charlie mentioned in episode 5 that she last spoke to her dad five months ago, referring to the first episode.
Somehow that just didn't click. For some reason I thought they had two months left.

The first man writing the infamous S out of boredom just goes to show how popular it really is lol.
The word choice of ‘debauchery’ right before Adam says the same exact thing is wilddd 😂

Who knows if Cain and Abel exist in this universe, but actually a realy good question
even if they do, adam might have died before the murder
