I don't know what your carrier will require of you. Ask the carrier - or ask wherever you are buying it. If you have a current sim card, just pop it in - make sure you buy a phone with the same carrier or factory unlocked.
Motorola is pretty solid. pretty reliable. Verizon will sell you a new sim card to go with your phone. Ask them if they have a granddaughter discount - see if they can get you a discount!
Recognize? What do you mean by that? Do you have service turned on your sim card? Is your phone Unlocked - Factory Unlocked - so that it works with any service? Or, does your service on your sim match the service allowed on your phone? If you can, have a friend or family help you out. Lastly, go to your local service shop and they will help you. Good luck.
Does this phone come with a sim card or do I need to buy one separately?

Can u review this phone?
I'll see what I can do for you. Any specific questions you have about this Moto?
@@JasonClements Why isn't my SD Card showing in Storage?
I would try Restarting your phone. If that doesn't work, just try taking sd out then back in. See if that helps.
My phone has the sim card slot on the left
yup. on the left
@@JasonClements Thank you for your response. I have tried everything, it won't recognize the sim card.
Now the annoying "talk back" is on, I can't get out of it
