Wow! Was going to buy an MPK 225 but I saw this at the store as well! Came back home to do some research and man this has me hooked! Portable and small, cv connections, step sequencer, chord and scales mode, easily compatible with Ableton, and compatible and integrated for the MPC Studio I recently just bought!! This is a no brainer only thing missing is the fully semi weighted keys that the mpk 225 has but that’s an 8+ year old machine. First midi was an Akai MPK Mini mk2 so I already know the workflow but this adds more features and more keys too! Sold! Thank you Akai! New products have been amazing and the touch strip on the Akai MPC Studio Mk2 is amazing!
If this fits my laptop bag it's a complete no brainer, what a great portable keyboard. Could even see me putting this on my desk as a "go to" for my desktop machine.. Because all my keys are to the side of me which is annoying at times.
the fact that they dropped this like a day after Arturia’s event had to be intentional 😉 looks like I know what I’ll be getting instead of the new minilab
Yo are the MPC live You have been using this keyboard with your live 2 at the same time If possible I wanted to play Live keys in in key Is this work flow possible if you understand what I'm saying
Do you find that you can confidently play these mini keys? I want one of these for live performance but I doubt the form factor for accurate live piano, cheers!
Hey. Did you get it? can I ask you how to find CC button? I have previous mpk mini, and it has a button CC, which means I can switch Midi CC Message instead of Midi note on the pad section. I need that for the live performances, where I can switch it really fast. I want to order it but just this one thing…. thaaank u 🎉
Akaiii!! Almost what I dream of!!! I would add a built in audio interface, batteries and Bluetooth midi! The perfect portable mini music studio (when you combine it with a iPhone and a DAW app)
8 endless encders, 8 pads, no pointless sliders and 37 keys (yes, 37 god-damn keys)... plus a raft of workflow features including DAW control...ordered mine today (a bit late to the party, i know).
The original MPK Mini has a very fragil keybed. The white keys break off easily in a year and I have to use superglue to glue the keys back. I hope this new Gen 2 keybed is more solid. If Akai will come up with a MPK Mini Plus Play, I may replace my MPK Mini Play.
@@momosbreath9713 It's a good suggestion if working with a DAW but there is a big market for people who work DAWlessly. The big upgrade to the mini plus is its ability to control and loop/sequence hardware synthesizers and drum machines via 5 pin midi/CV. If it had its own sounds it would also be a standalone synth and drum machine to start looping musical ideas without a computer or any other gear.
great educational walkthrough! I have mine on order. very excited after crashing and burning on launchkey mini mk3 and korg nanokey studio as an ipad musician. this seems way easier to dial everything as needed for various ipad apps.

I just bought one for my new mpc live II. Would it be possible to assign the joystick to navigate through the mpc screen? Mainly thinking about the envelope touchscreen. Thx a lot guys!
Does anyone know how to set up the transport control queue link knobs to work with MPC One? I feel like this should’ve been as one of stock menu options
Any chance of a tutorial on how to control NI's Komplete Kontrol software with this ? I'd actually prefer this over the M32 for the pads, 37 keys and physical wheels.
One really important thing you forgot to mention is that when powering up via USB and a computer that the MIDI I/O ports are bound to the computer, meaning any MIDI message from the keyboard isn't sent to the MIDI out port unless routed via a DAW. If you want to use the keyboard as a standalone MIDI controller, you have to plug in via battery pack/wall power, then plug it back into the computer to regain the ability to MIDI map in your DAW. Why this is the default and there are no internal options to route the MIDI differently is beyond me.
I really hope they can fix this with firmware. I plan to play external hardware synth while having the daw port connected to my ipad. I'm sure I can figure out a work around but it's a PITA.
Wow, thanks for this comment, was just about to buy one. That really defeats the purpose of how I’d want to use it, otherwise it’d be a perfect upgrade from my MPK MkII. They really need to address this.
If im using it with an mpc does the scales and chords function sync up with pad perform or is it separate? For instance if I have a scale set on my mpc in pad perform does the mpk follow that scale?
Bro I’ve had this hooked up to my TR6S and Microfreak and cannot get this alkali to do anything in this video , and yes I have it hooked up correct For the love of god can someone help me, trying to keep this dawless
You have to disconnect your USB from the DAW. It's the only way the DIN midi out port is going to work. Also connect a power pack or USB wall power adapter to the USB to power the midi controller.
My concerns are BPM sync with note repeat and arpeggiator. Also we shouldn’t ever have to configure anything in preferences to use this with MPC beats or MPC software. I hope the firmware updates have addressed this. Anywhere we can find notes on the firmware updates? I really want one to go with my Live 2 for portability.
please do a video on setting up the whole midi setup for the MPK mini 3. I've tried to use the videos from others on TH-cam and it doesn't work - seems like a nightmare to setup with the midi software section in MPC 2
Can't decide this or the M-Audio Oxygen Pro Mini. I need the Pads and Encoder Knobs to be able to go out via their own separate Midi out Channel and not then same global midi channel being used by the keys. Is this possible on this midi controller?
Help!! I just got this midi, but my sustain pedal is working in reverse in this midi keyboard, while working fine on other keyboards Is there some setting in midi i can do to fix this??
I can’t get the joystick to work in garage bland, could you help please. The two wheels work fine. The joystick setting is on cc. It doesn’t seem to change when I make sure it is on pitch bend in the editor.
Im new to all of this but Im interested in learning and would like to make make beats. Dont know where to start as far as what to purchase. Should I get the MPK MINI with the MPC ONE or just one piece of equipment in the MPC Key 37? Thanks in advance for help and or advice.
Does the 'Push to enter' knob and 'Next/Prev step' buttons can be assigned to some CC? What I am looking for is a program change assignment, not using pad/8 knobs for this. Is it feasible with MPK mini plus?
I have a question relating to the Akai Professional MPK Mini Plus pads: What I would like to know; and I haven't been able to find an answer to this question anywhere, is how to adjust the velocity or sensitivity of the Akai MPK Professional Mini Plus pads? I've watched numerous videos related using the Akai Professional MPK Mini Plus and in each video the moderator barely touches the pads and the corresponding sounds are clearly heard. However, when I touch the pads on my Akai Professional MPK Mini Plus I don't hear anything until I firmly press the pad(s) and then I get a sound. I thought the intention was to replicate playing the drums generally speaking of course. Shouldn't I be able to get the same results as everyone else and replicate playing the drums by lightly touching the pads and getting the corresponding sounds? Please, point me in the direction of where I can locate the information on how to modify, program my Akai Professional MPK Mini Plus pads to achieve the same results. Thanks for your help.
Lots of punch to this small device. Well done, Akai! $170 is a fair price for what this brings to the table in this form factor.
I wish this came out before I bought the keystep 37
Fair. It's a super value.
170!?!? *slams bills*
MSRP says 349USD. I guess this is will be the price in most Asian countries.
Meh. Doesn’t really have the build quality to justify the cost.
The beat you laid down at 6:00. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
It really was though 🔥🤙🏾

I got the same exact thought because of the same issue
the fact that they dropped this like a day after Arturia’s event had to be intentional 😉 looks like I know what I’ll be getting instead of the new minilab
No lie, I just got the email from Arturia too!
Lmaoooo
I’m pissed I just got the mpk 3 3 weeks ago and didn’t know they was gonna just drop this out the blue
Great video and nice to see and hear someone who can play not just talk!
AMEN to that!:)
I ordered one of these as soon as I saw it! Excited to try this out.
Wow. Thanks AKAI Finally someone produced a competitor for keystep!
I like this Keyboard with the MPC Live 2! It's awesome workflow!
Yo are the MPC live You have been using this keyboard with your live 2 at the same time If possible I wanted to play Live keys in in key Is this work flow possible if you understand what I'm saying
This came at the right time for me just after my mpk mini 2 broke down from using it so much! Cannot wait to get mine delivered in nov!
Do you find that you can confidently play these mini keys? I want one of these for live performance but I doubt the form factor for accurate live piano, cheers!

Just ordered mine today.. perfect timing since my the keys of original mpk mini went out.
This is looking like a very dominant competitor to arturia's keystep 37 and launchkey
Akaiii!! Almost what I dream of!!! I would add a built in audio interface, batteries and Bluetooth midi! The perfect portable mini music studio (when you combine it with a iPhone and a DAW app)
That is for the MPK mini plus II😉
Isn’t the Mpk mini play pretty much that
THIS IS SO FUCKING COOL all the time i was like 'if only keystep 37 had drum pads and physical wheels' and there it fucking is WEEEE
There is a new mini controller king in town, Arturia and Novation can't compete with this now.
@akaiProVideo, there is a major scammer out there posing as you guys saying, you won a prize, can you shut them down?
may have to get this as a keyboard for my Roland boutiques! Looks like an upgrade to my mpk 25 mini I have
I’m thinking the same thing! I also have the Mpk mini 25
8 endless encders, 8 pads, no pointless sliders and 37 keys (yes, 37 god-damn keys)... plus a raft of workflow features including DAW control...ordered mine today (a bit late to the party, i know).

Bruh this lil midi board is amazing I have the OG MPK but I’ma have to upgrade 👀🔥🤙🏾
It would be so cool if they made a version that also had internal sounds like the Akai mini play.
No, Just get a Yamaha PSS A50.
I'm upgrading from the mini play to this
@@momosbreath9713 It's a good suggestion if working with a DAW but there is a big market for people who work DAWlessly. Give it 2 weeks and all the youtubers will have them. Mpk mini play plus. In a thumbnail with their mouths wide open
Great job now release the limited edition colors especially the mpc grey please
I’m getting one in on my bday
October20th, 2022 will forever be the day when Akai Pro reminded Arturia who they daddy is....
great educational walkthrough! I have mine on order. very excited after crashing and burning on launchkey mini mk3 and korg nanokey studio as an ipad musician. this seems way easier to dial everything as needed for various ipad apps.

Are there any plans on making the transport controls working on Logic Pro for iPad? Currently they won't work.
This paired with an iPad is killer
I'll buy one in a second if the "gray" or "black" model comes!
Thank God Akai let Andy Macaroni do the demonstration.
pretty comprehensive right there
All Akai needs to do is find a way to put the Arturia keys on this keyboard and you will have a master piece
Well I know what I am getting myself for my b-day 🎉
IT'S TIME TO COMBINE THE MINI PLAY AND MINI PLUS!!! MAKE IT HAPPEN! 🥳
I just bought one for my new mpc live II. Would it be possible to assign the joystick to navigate through the mpc screen? Mainly thinking about the envelope touchscreen. Thx a lot guys!
Just got can’t wait to unbox & get to work
Does anyone know how to set up the transport control queue link knobs to work with MPC One? I feel like this should’ve been as one of stock menu options
Hope the display can finally show daw stuff
Any chance of a tutorial on how to control NI's Komplete Kontrol software with this ? I'd actually prefer this over the M32 for the pads, 37 keys and physical wheels.
If they make one that has 49 keys and it could sync with my MPC ONE id buy it!
Nice. But please Akai, add ratcheting. If it can do CV/gate, it should do ratchets too.
let's hope for it in firmware update
Need this to add to the mini 2.nice.under 200.bought🔥💯

It is possible to route it via the DAW, it's not a big deal. You're already using a DAW, so it's not like a big deal.

Same reason I'm considering the M-Audio Oxygen Pro Mini.
A FL Studio deep integration video would be great!!!!🤓
Wow, what a great mini keyboard! 👍😀😍
bought it, good product but where is the MPK mini plus program editor? where i can download it?
This new controller keyboard its similar to the M-Audio Pro mini 32 keyboard controller both Akai & M-Audio is under the Inmusic Brand company.
Sound like a Old School Bay area beat👍
If im using it with an mpc does the scales and chords function sync up with pad perform or is it separate? For instance if I have a scale set on my mpc in pad perform does the mpk follow that scale?
Buying one tomorrow
Faders that's only missing.
I need one of these! Finally infinite scroll knobs.
Very impressive!
I like it.
Hi ! Thanks you ! Can we export then in multitrack our recorded arrangement ? Or am I asking too much ;)
Nice!!! 🔥 🔥 🔥
Does it TRANSMIT After touch only by pads or also by keyboard? Thanks
🌊🌊🌊🌊 getting this
Bro I’ve had this hooked up to my TR6S and Microfreak and cannot get this alkali to do anything in this video , and yes I have it hooked up correct
For the love of god can someone help me, trying to keep this dawless

Great 👍 presentation
Very valuable lessons 👍🏻👍🏻
Would love to see that Step Sequencer brought over to the MPC line
Same! Maybe we’ll get that in 3.0
SAME!!!!!!!!
The MPC already has a great step sequencer 🤷♂️
got it, love it.
Thanks for the video.
I have tried to link an external MIDI keyboard on the MIDI IN port but it seems not work.
Is there a special setup to do ?
Is there an upgrade to DAW intergration for studio one 6? Or a way to get one ??
I love it ! 👍
So after I buy the oxygen pro this comes out?? Damn you Inmusic!!

Can you explain what this means? What issues does this cause?
Does it have inbuilt speaker 🔊
great work, AKAI. THANK YOU.

Akai alway immited but still #1
Please release and ALL BLACK version of this!
The question can you control a hardware synth and record the midi thru the mini plus to your DAW? (Like FL Studio)
I don't think so. Was looking at manual and says the midi port is disabled when the USB Is connected to PC.
Is there a way to edit the velocity curve of the keybed (on the device)?
Can't decide this or the M-Audio Oxygen Pro Mini. I need the Pads and Encoder Knobs to be able to go out via their own separate Midi out Channel and not then same global midi channel being used by the keys.
Is this possible on this midi controller?
Please make colored versions!!
Help!!
I just got this midi, but my sustain pedal is working in reverse in this midi keyboard, while working fine on other keyboards

Where did the Bass and lead synth come from?

So this is more for live performances ???
So if I have a mpc live and I'll buy Akai mpk mini plus would that give me mpc keys 37 And what would be the limitations
How do you change instrument on the keyboard
I ❤️ AKAI
Will other color options be released like the 25 key?
200th. Now, take my money
i love it 🥰 🥰
Just wondering does the knobs do nrpn? - would love use it to control other hardware gear.
Any extra Accessoires to buy??
Akai... when STEMS feature on your software?? Like SERATO and KOALA??
Does the 'Push to enter' knob and 'Next/Prev step' buttons can be assigned to some CC? What I am looking for is a program change assignment, not using pad/8 knobs for this. Is it feasible with MPK mini plus?
Are you guys going to update the Mpk 249/261 series? It’s about that time no?
I just got paid today!!!! Here! Take my money now !!!!!!!!!!!!

Can u interconnect this midi with the MPC 2??
