Not even surprised that Elminster came back from getting disintegrated. :)

Incredibly deep dive into the lore. This kind of stuff is invaluable for my own worldbuilding, thank you for making these videos! I'm so happy to find your channel!

Also a great addition would be general aims of big characters like this. Probably across the last 10-25 years (prior to current DR)
For example: What were a couple of the Manshoon(s) doing in 1485-1490DR, so if he is being used as a BBEG a DM can get a sense of their general aims and goals. :-D

Last I heard he also killed Shaan the Serpent Queen (who according to Ed Greenwood was on the same level of power as Larloch) in a bid for “The Lost Spell”. Also it was revealed that Manshoon also refused an offer from Mystra to become one of her chosen (Spellstorm 2015)

Thank you for additional good info! Mystra's picks of Chosens were not always wise😄 glad he refused

@TellmeLore I don't know if I would say that Mystra's choosing of Manshoon could be called wise or unwise. After all, despite how she is often portrayed, Mystra isn't a good-aligned deity. Mystra just wanted to increase her power, and for that goal, Manshoon might seem like a wise choice. It's up to interpretation, however.

While I like videos on more well-known names like Vecna, Tasha, etc., I really love that you have videos about characters that I've never even heard of, and that aren't covered on other channels that I watch like Dungeoncast. I like the style of video, the dates on the side, that you use pics when appropriate but it otherwise feels like someone just telling you about the lore, and less like someone trying to be a voice actor while clearly reading a overly-written script (except maybe the dude in the beginning, reading the quotes). Yours is likely still using a script, but it is delivered more conversationally, and just straight-forward information, with maybe a bit of commentary, rather than it reading like someone is trying to write a poem that they can later read in a British accent and cackle. Again, your style is different than Dungeoncast, but I think you guy have some similar qualities, which are things I like, such as the more conversational tone that doesn't feel like you doing a character, the occasional jokes or commentary, and it feeling more like you are D&D fans just making videos about stuff you find interesting (in contrast to a voice actor being paid to read a script written by someone else, with neither having a real attachment to the game).
P.S. Your videos are also good about anticipating and compensating for potential language/accent difficulties. Every time I think "what did she say?", believing that I misunderstood because of an accent issue, the words appear on the screen for me to read- also, to your credit, most of the time it isn't at all a language issue, and is just a really weird D&D name (not a normal name made to sound weird by pronunciation). Again, I assume that was a conscious decision, and I wanted to thank you for it; I both like hearing someone tell me these details rather than reading them, but also having the text available if I don't understand a word or phrase being said. So again, good job, and keep up the good work!

Wow, thanks for such an honest review! I'm glad you highlighted and liked how I do it. Transparency and friendliness are the things I try to keep when doing videos. Though I need to add subtitles to old videos, new ones are supported with script, so its easier to get everything from the first try, like funny names etc. By the way, the "guy" reading quotes at the begining of the videos is still me😅 I change my voice a bit and modulate tone and pitch a bit after in voice-rec program I use. You might like to watch Sammaster or Lord Soth videos, which also contain characters' conversations.

@@TellmeLore Lol, I just finished watching those recently. Good job on the voice change! I wouldn't want a whole video like that, but I can appreciate it in small doses, like an intro to the video; the Dungeoncast guys often do skits at the end (although to be honest, I usually skip those, because I am just there for the info-dump). Anyway, if you are doing it all yourself, that is even more impressive! And again, I want to encourage you to keep doing what I often see you doing, which is talking to the camera/audience like you are just a friend excited to tell them something cool that you like about D&D. Some others doing video read it rather monotone and boring, like they are being forced to read a textbook in class, while others go the extreme opposite, and treat the lore video like a chance to do acting exercises and character work; not really a fan of either of those styles. I much prefer it like you do, just "hey guys, check out this cool character; they did so much cool stuff, like X, Y, and Z." Your tag line thing is really good like that "How did they get that way? Let's find out!" Again, seems conversational and even a bit cooperative when framed that way. Good idea. Anyway, again, good job, and keep up the good work. You have a subscriber in me, lol. Next up for me is Larloch; I will keep liking and commenting, to help with the algorithm stuff.

This dude remind me of my 2nd or 3rd campaign, when i got my vile paws on clone spell. In perspective, astral projection to the same plane of existence would be more suitable.
