Orchestras don’t get much better than this one….
Now it’s raining in LA and I driving my car and listening this - it’s perfect
All I can say is WOW!!!! I was moved to tears several times during this piece. Gorgeous treatment of the Jerry Goldsmith masterpiece from the master, who I understand composed the entire score in a just few days! The original score is fantastic, but seeing the theme played is hard to top. Excellent posting and my congrats to Ruud and the orchestra! The slick B & W treatment is very much appreciated.

In 1979 speelde Ruud samen met zijn broer het Ave maria toen ik ging trouwen en de kerk in liep de tranen liepen over mijn wangen zo mooi wat dat en mooi dat hij verder is gegaan met deze carrière een super trompettist is hij geworden !!!!!🎷🎤

Ruud Breuls must be an alien or something, because I’ve been playing jazz trumpet my whole life and most modern jazz trumpeters all sound like Lee Morgan and Clifford Brown wannabes. This man is different though, has his own style and one of the most pure, crisp, and pleasing tones I’ve ever heard. Not to mention his chrystal clear articulations. This comes with love for your craft and diligent discipline practice and God
In my opinion Metropole Orkest is by far the best in the whole wide world… and Ruud Breuls is a one of a kind… no doubt….. you guys are awesome !!!

Ruud has such a sparkling tone. Instantly recognisable. Clarity and precision…with soul.
Ruuds phrasing is SO subtly good... by doing what so few trumpet players do... MAINTAIN CONTINUITY OF SOUND throughout his solo.

I was lucky to attend this concert in Vredenburg. This piece, the playing of the orchestra, and the magnificent playing of Ruud Breuls impressed me very much. Thanks for the wonderful music. Thanks for posting! If I'm well informed the video recording/editing/directing was done by Max Boeree (sax): job well done!
Indeed Max was in charge of the video recording and editing, and didn't play baritone that evening. His sub on baritone and bass clarinet in the sax section was the young and very talented Tini Thomson, then a recent graduate of the Amsterdam Music Conservatory.

Let's not forget that the music of 'Chinatown' was written by Jerry Goldsmith and, in this case, well-arranged by Jim McNeely.

Has Jerry Goldsmith extended the song thus far and deep? I am not aware of.
@@kassios Actually, it was a movie soundtrack composition and, as a suite he subsequently wrote, it was about 15 mins long, if memory serves. If you call up Soundtrack Fred on TH-cam, then Videos, you'll find it among a whole lot of other soundtrack suites compiled. It's a wonderful resource! Enjoy!
@@crossleydd42 well I've listened to the original soundtrack (and in Fred's channel) and the Love Theme is no more than three minutes.
McNeely seems to have recompositioned it with his own wonderful additions.

@@crossleydd42 thank you, it's the one I've found indeed. The original arrangement for the Love Theme is much smaller than what Jim McNeely has come up with.

One of the best movie music. A romance story during the water war in LA in the 1930 between Jack Nicholson who falls in love with Faye Dunaway, the wife and daughter of a rich man who is suffering. In the end, she was shot dead by a bad detective.

Seine Spielweise hat hier was von Don Ellis
it is nice.... but it is played too sweet and too jazzy. It lacks the drama of the original. Nice cover but it doesn't touch me.
