Kinda stretching here on this one, I see your point but its definitely a preference of what you saw first Manga or Anime, either way the 4th is the Goat no matter
10:40 - 11:40 - I disagree with this take, purely because I've had whiplash moments of "wait a minute, what just happened?" when reading manga (and non action packed ones at that). I like how the anime has adapted it, (albeit I've never read the manga, but still this videos example was enough for me) and the cut version you provided was super jarring for me (and not just for the obvious fact that it's different from the original lol). I had a moment (like I described earlier) of "wait. Huh? Ok play that back! What happened?" But I can see the point of "oh, he could definitely react to that in time!" (Bc that's how I felt when watching the anime, due to the suspense of the slow motion). I think the anime did a perfectly fine job of representing the manga here, (and I've never read it). 13:38 - And this is why I like it when they take creative liberties to make the show more enjoyable. Cuz just look at this! Even though it's in slow motion, the sudden cuts ruin the flow of the entire thing (unlike in manga, where you can read at your own place and SLOWLY turn the pages and take the time to absorb what's being shown)! P.S./Edit: The only time I'd make this an exception is if the ENTIRE scene is at this pace, and does it in a consistent, fluent way that doesn't make it hard to understand what's going on! (Cuz in manga, you have to adjust to what's being shown depending on whether or not your slowly turning the pages or not/etc.) P.S./Edit x2: Here's what I was going to say a bit differently earlier: Cuz in manga {the ones I've read anyway} you have to {more or less} guess where the transition begins between scenes {which is what the art is for I know, [but still]}. [Albeit this is me mostly kind of complaining a little about how I'm adjusting to manga still, as, in total honesty, I wish they'd add transition scenes on the next page {like a separate art panel} to help absorb the time gaps between pages/panels.] (Tldr: I'm basically ranting about my experience reading manga [it's not all bad I promise XD] but I think the anime did a fine job representing this scene. Not everything can be copied one to one with another thing from its counterpart {not without giving up the quality of the other} for the most part).
okey now this guy is straight up crying. Anime did fab job. if they had tried mangas effect it would have had ruined the sccene for anime. Anime doesnt always do justice to the scene but when it does try to apreciate that.
since hiashi is dead now and you hinted that neji is trying to step out of hiashi's antics by marrying from outside the hyga what if neji tried to incorporate other techniques that are not related to the hyga clan to his arsenal just like what hinata did Like imagine if neji mastered fire release and now can use powerful fire style jutsus like that fire phenix jutsu kakashi used in his light novel alongside fusing his nature transformation with his gentle fist and now he can use fire style: rotation and fire style: coelcence !!! I think that would be awesome and that phenix jutsu would fit well with neji's theme too I really hope you do this!)
The anime adapted the scene literally and it is much better than the manga. The part that you didn't like was not convincing. The manga is limited, so don't make the anime like it.
i mean for a guy who only talks about naruto he claims he doesn't like a lot of things and how a lot of things are plot holes when his rewrite is literally 10 times worst that the original
@@devontewilson791Just lying for no reason, if anything. If anything, his rewrite shows that the things he criticises can and should have been improved upon. The man is showing you why it's not good for Naruto individually as a series.
Tobirama may have invented the jutsu but Minato was the one to bring it to its full potential. I would give Minato a high difficulty win in this scenario. As for the anime changes it doesn't bother me personally but I must admit that the version of Minato instantly hitting him with the rasengan is 10X times better. (though I do like him catching the kunai before he hits Obito in the anime) I have never really read the manga myself, I did read a little her and there but for the most part I grew up watching the anime, even the filler content since back then I didn't know what filler was so I just rolled with it. Now that I think about it I have seen a ton of anime but Spy x Family is the only time I read the manga before watching it.
I disagree the anime did the right thing because animation is frame by frame manga isn't they're different media manga doesn't show you frame by frame it uses important moments so they don't have to show you what he does before hitting him yes it has shock value and you can say it shows his speed but the anime did the same thing you can't expect a movie picture to be used the same as a still one
This is a hard disagree from me. I think the scene works perfectly fine just how it is. I don’t think it ruins the moment at all. And I read the manga first so I was comparing them when the episode came out and I had no problem with it
Here's a thing for u man , in a manga the only way to convey speed is by jumping steps which is what kishimoto did with minato here in one panel he was in front and the next one he was above, but in animation format u can convey speed in many different ways such as SLOW MOTION which is what the anime did and it works in that particular medium even tho its different so chill dude 😅 u're probably the only dude bothered by this
Kamui can't be blitzed by Minato. It blitzed by flying riagen itself. Obito didn't have to activate kamui it's instantaneous , he didn't even have to see the attack coming.
FINALLY. Someone talked about it, thank you. The anime scene always bothered since i first saw it, it ruined the fight for me. And i never saw anyone talking about it.
The Kamui can only be countered with another space-time technique, such as the Hiraishin or another Kamui, or an infernal perception like Madara's that cut off Minato's arms, I think they exaggerate a bit the feat of having defeated Obito. Kakashi was also able to match him by knowing how to use his Kamui and counter it. Even Kurama took advantage of that by sending Kakashi to Obito's dimension, Obito's Kamui is not invincible. What's more, With a good strategy and knowledge you can defeat him, if Naruto knew perfectly how the Kamui worked,
I think the issue with the anime, is we know two things after minato teleports. Obito is now free to use kamui, and obito can process information at this speed, as he was able to know exactly when the kunai left his head and when his hand would make contact. So if minato really was in the air for that long, surely minato would activate kamui out of safety right?
The most jarring thing about the anime adaptation of that scene for me is: Why did Minato bring his arm back? He was swinging the rasengan towards Obito already, so naturally when he teleports in the manga the instant hit of the rasengan is just the continuation of that arm movement. In the anime he has randomly brought his arm back after teleporting, which is not something I doubt he wouldn't be fast enough to do, it just doesn't really make sense to do it.
Can't say if that was their intention, but the first time i watched this scene in the anime i couldn't know if the rasengan was going to hit obito, or if he would be faster and turn intangible before that. The slow motion worked well on making me keep that doubt for a few more seconds, that seemed like minutes to me. And when the rasengan strikes and the soundtrack starts playing... Man, that destroyed me in a positive way. I love this moment, both in anime and manga.
4:00 This masked man that we thought was Madara at the time. I think you mean that we thougut was Obito at the time. Because there was never one single second I thought Tobi was anyone other than Obito.
I actually think this is a case of issues in spatial adaptation because of the height difference of where the kunai and Obito's head was in relation to where they would be after the rasengan landed. It was probably easier for them to animate him catching it than to try and make the background and other moving parts fit the manga's parameters. Or it could just be that they felt that Minato catching the kunai afterwards would be a difficult thing for watchers to notice during the massive rasengan explosion, like nobody would've even realized he caught it in all that chaos, so maybe it was to emphasis both actions. (Both catching the kunai and landing the rasengan)
I'm a anime watcher tho Minato was a character I thought was mess up cause he seal the 9 tails in his son. He was a character that was more of foreshadow which may me wonder how the nine tails got seal in naurto in the first place
Its still not better 😂 no manga is better than the anime just based off the simple fact that anime hits harder and action packed anime aren’t meant to be read they are meant to be watched
5:47 I read the manga and watched the anime in French, and I've always interpreted this as Obito saying he would not talk, next time, and just absorb Minato as soon as he touches him. Because that's what Obito says in the French translation: "He got away again? What a celerity. Next time, I'll drag less and absorb it at first contact (meaning, as soon as I get in physical contact with him)".
I do see your point, since Minato teleported and completely blitzed Obito, but both were still moving at the exact speed of slow-motion. Perhaps the anime could have kept Minato in slow motion, but have Obito stop in time, to really show off how Minato is so much faster than him?
"the strongest opponents we saw Minato fight are just some stone Jonin, might as well be Genin" and also two perfect Jinchuriki at once in the one shot manga, and also Kurama in the one shot.
Dude loves his manga so much that he even color corrected the rasengan yellow to match the manga to prove his point.😂 I understand the magna is original source material but your manga gatekeeping can get annoying sometimes. I’ll still watch your videos because it’s entertaining 👍🏻
He is more on a manga propaganda of "the manga is better than anime" than gatekeeping. And, yes, for moments like this, the manga has an edge over the anime, this is true. This is the tricky bit about adapting. There are things that work wonder when you have it in manga, in novel or in animation, but those are all different tricks that would translate poorly in another medium by time. And other times, the ones in charge of the adaptations make a choice, whether good or bad, harder to tell.
Can’t lie, I get your point. I love the scene but in the manga, kishimoto draws minato hitting obito first and then grabbing the kunai, while the manga he grabs the kunai and the slowly 180s his body to finally land the rasengan on obito
This fight also goes to show the growth of obito in the series because there are multiple different scenarios where the opponent obito is fighting does things like this to combat his kamui and learning from his experience and mistakes with Minato he doesn’t allow himself to get caught with that again.( excluding Naruto) 😂
i dont think obito actually needs to touch his targets to teleport them. because, for example, when his teleporting an enemy attack, he wont touch it, because at that point it would have no meaning watsoever to teleport the attack away. instead i think that, like you say, its a way to teleport faster, but i also think that by doing this he keeps his enemys close and still. because obito has close range kamui, so he probably cant teleport objects that are farther than his arms. plus, when they are close enough, they can still run away, like minato did with flying thunder god. using his hands to keep them close enough and still is easier for him than just running after them until they’re to exausted.
11:11 you can see minato vanish before the page turn so i dont think its valid to say it goes from "i won" to minato being on top of him as the reader can see him vanish in anticipation for the page turn rather than thinking obito had him. I do agree on the catching of the kunai before/after however its just how things translate from page to animation, both scenes are goated regardless and we shouldnt downplay the anime, because at the end of the day the anime made this scene iconic. The same way the anime took lots of liberaties with the final valley fight and in my opinion made it far better than the manga, the anime took kakashi vs obito and made it a fight that even people who dont watch naruto could tell you about. Its 2 different forms of media and although there are things better on paper and things better in animation we should just appreciate them for what they are and enjoy both!
No because obito didnt reacted when minato vanished but did reacted when he was hit by rasengan. This made it clear to the audience that whatever happened was too fast for obito to rxt.
I don't think I've ever heard this complaint before. Your logic is sound and all, but only if you overthink it. Different media have different ways of conveying what's happening, and I doubt anyone watching this scene one, two, or even multiple times, would fail to understand that Minato's attack was an instant hit. Maybe you would have preferred an instant shot like naruto vs the robo-pain. But watching Minato slowly perform the attack kinda shows how much in control he was during that entire sequence.
Didnt see this part of Naruto but it seems like theres a compromise possible Make the scene play out as in anime, but after Minato teleports dont animate Obito moving at all until the moment of impact - or vice versa animate Minato bringing down his arm much faster. This way it looks like a shift from slow-motion to an even slower motion
Bro made a video yapping about how the anime didn't emulate the turning of a manga page, this is the biggest nitpick I've heard someone hating the anime for, I'm gonna proceed to specify why the scene in the anime is incredibly well adapted since I've seen it soooooo many times, first, we get Minato's train of thought while he analizes Obito's techinique, then the scene starts with both of them running at each other, we see Minato throwing the kunai to Obito's face knowing he'll use Kamui (At this point you know the kunai is some kind of bait but never anticipate what Minato is planning to do next) the anime, obviously, slows the scene down to build up tension (One knows that Minato's not gonna lose, but you're expecting to see what he does next), they show you a second of Minato literally winding up the rasengan, which idk about you, but I thought to myself "Damn that thing's gonna hurt", they show you Obito's reaching hand and the rasengan getting closer to their targets, when you see Obito's hand almost touching Minato, Bum, he's gone, they also pause the slow motion in the instant when Minato disappears and reappears above Obito, then they treat you with some full slow motion seconds of Minato literally winding up his arm so much that when you see the rasengan hit Obito's back you feel that thing is gonna break your face, and that moment too, wasn't in slow motion. Il not the only one in the comments who can't find what's the problem with the scene in the anime and have never met someone who didn't like it, and I've read and seen Naruto since my childhood
(8:47) i highly Agree Obito Never Seen That coming Even with his MGS,Sharigian at its Peak an Sum No tree branches from body😅yeah he was definitely souffled👍🏾💯
obito thought he got him so to suck him in faster than last time he was ready to activate kamui right when his hand touched him, in that instant of contact he teleported and blasted him, he can't phase when he is using kamui, that is the only reason the attack hit and the reason this worked was on the first round obitio wasn't fast enough so he wanted to be faster.
this was not as you said, it was a game of speed and minato was way way faster, kamui was just too slow to work on him, obito can evade minatos attacks but he cannot attack him back, his flaw was he wanted to attack him, he made a bet with confidence, he lost.
the difference is in the manga we get obitos perspective, in the anime we get minatos. For the people who read them both they can clearly see how was that man is.
If they animated Minato to be as fast as we actually was, we would get 2 frames of video per scene, and that's it. Not very cool, huh? The problem is that you're comparing to completely different forms of media. If you prefer the way a scene was portrayed in of the two, then fine. But don't say that one of them "ruins" the other just because it's slightly (and this one is very very slightly) different.

Honestly i liked minato but not war arc minato since kishi just gives him so many abilities he somehow never shows off or learns immediately. Its like people who say naruto isn't a underdog as he learns things fast(its called hard work) but minato is that on steroids
If hard work was as good as you say, Lee would’ve surpassed Naruto and Sasuke
No just like Sasuke, Naruto has inherited gifts
They didn’t just give minato abilities maybe you think he just didn’t use them ? Just like he has wind, lightning and fire release but we never seen him use any chakra natures. Nobody knew what minato could really do accept flying raijin and rasengan so for you to say “they just gave him abilities” is crazy only ability he received while being dead is kcm. And Naruto is not hard working literally all his power accept sage mode was given to him.
@@aceclover758thats the moral of naruto. Natural talent and gifted individuals shits on skilled hard workers
Kinda stretching here on this one, I see your point but its definitely a preference of what you saw first Manga or Anime, either way the 4th is the Goat no matter
Love the edit you made👌
That's absolutely how the scene should have been, and i have no clue how people can say "its hars to follow " 😆
Bro the anime did it better. The music kicking in... Maaaan, it was awesome
Nice work mate, thank you for this entertaining example of work. ❤ I’m a fan of
10:40 - 11:40 - I disagree with this take, purely because I've had whiplash moments of "wait a minute, what just happened?" when reading manga (and non action packed ones at that). What happened?"
But I can see the point of "oh, he could definitely react to that in time!" (Bc that's how I felt when watching the anime, due to the suspense of the slow motion).
(Cuz in manga, you have to adjust to what's being shown depending on whether or not your slowly turning the pages or not/etc.)
P.S./Edit x2: Here's what I was going to say a bit differently earlier: Cuz in manga {the ones I've read anyway} you have to {more or less} guess where the transition begins between scenes {which is what the art is for I know, [but still]}.
Only watched the anime! Looking forward to the rest of the video and your next rewrite!!
okey now this guy is straight up crying. Anime did fab job. if they had tried mangas effect it would have had ruined the sccene for anime. Anime doesnt always do justice to the scene but when it does try to apreciate that.
Yea. 1st thing that came.out of my mouth with your edit. Yea!! Yea!! Definitely better. Loved it!!!
since hiashi is dead now and you hinted that neji is trying to step out of hiashi's antics by marrying from outside the hyga what if neji tried to incorporate other techniques that are not related to the hyga clan to his arsenal just like what hinata did
Like imagine if neji mastered fire release and now can use powerful fire style jutsus like that fire phenix jutsu kakashi used in his light novel alongside fusing his nature transformation with his gentle fist and now he can use fire style: rotation and fire style: coelcence !!! I think that would be awesome and that phenix jutsu would fit well with neji's theme too I really hope you do this!)

Yeah, the version from the anime was very good as is.
Excellent video and explanation on what should have been done in Anime.
a teenager faced the same as the yellow lightning
A lot of people for get Obito was only 14 in this fight last we saw Obito it was underwhelming
Minato was definitely moving alot faster than obito in the slow scene
The anime adapted the scene literally and it is much better than the manga. The part that you didn't like was not convincing. The manga is limited, so don't make the anime like it.
You are dumb.
If Minato had superspeed, he wouldn't need to teleport to hit Obito.
I agree the anime executed it pretty well
@@swavy653for some stuff
i mean for a guy who only talks about naruto he claims he doesn't like a lot of things and how a lot of things are plot holes when his rewrite is literally 10 times worst that the original
(though I do like him catching the kunai before he hits Obito in the anime)
I have never really read the manga myself,
I did read a little her and there but for the most part I grew up watching the anime, even the filler content since back then I didn't know what filler was so I just rolled with it.
The feel of the anime was the impact of the rasengan not how fast minato was.
I always thought this scene in the anime was bad compared to the manga, it really looks like Obito could dodge it
This is a hard disagree from me. I think the scene works perfectly fine just how it is. I don’t think it ruins the moment at all. And I read the manga first so I was comparing them when the episode came out and I had no problem with it
Here's a thing for u man , in a manga the only way to convey speed is by jumping steps which is what kishimoto did with minato here in one panel he was in front and the next one he was above, but in animation format u can convey speed in many different ways such as SLOW MOTION which is what the anime did and it works in that particular medium even tho its different so chill dude 😅 u're probably the only dude bothered by this
Whats up with all the "Dygo hates Naruto she just uses it to make money" talk online?
He does hate naruto and loves disrespecting kishimoto's work.

Kamui can't be blitzed by Minato. It blitzed by flying riagen itself. Obito didn't have to activate kamui it's instantaneous , he didn't even have to see the attack coming.

It looks like Minato is still faster than Obito during the slow motion.

@@randomico7632 how? it clearly says no one cares and those that do are speaking
I watched the anime years ago and just about 1-2 years I decided to read the manga, and let me tell you, that’s a hell of a different experience
Honestly it’s one of the most iconic shots in all of Naruto so I think it’s fine
4:00
This masked man that we thought was Madara at the time.
I think you mean that we thougut was Obito at the time. Because there was never one single second I thought Tobi was anyone other than Obito.
Yes but you're not "we"
I actually think this is a case of issues in spatial adaptation because of the height difference of where the kunai and Obito's head was in relation to where they would be after the rasengan landed.
Saying it ruined the scene is definitely a massive overreach. I got to say this video was a miss
I'm a anime watcher tho Minato was a character I thought was mess up cause he seal the 9 tails in his son. He was a character that was more of foreshadow which may me wonder how the nine tails got seal in naurto in the first place
There's a reason why Manga comes before Anime.
To you 😂
Its still not better 😂 no manga is better than the anime just based off the simple fact that anime hits harder and action packed anime aren’t meant to be read they are meant to be watched
@@Numba14it is
@@Numba14there wouldn’t be no anime without the manga and the manga explains more and better
You have to be dense if you can’t put together that it was instantaneous
5:47 I read the manga and watched the anime in French, and I've always interpreted this as Obito saying he would not talk, next time, and just absorb Minato as soon as he touches him. Because that's what Obito says in the French translation: "He got away again? What a celerity. Next time, I'll drag less and absorb it at first contact (meaning, as soon as I get in physical contact with him)".
13:39 you are a legend

hey dygo, could you do a video about how strong obito would be if he had both of his MS, keep it up the great content
Yes I can
@@DygoKnight yay, apreciate it man
I do see your point, since Minato teleported and completely blitzed Obito, but both were still moving at the exact speed of slow-motion.
I'm not gatekeeping anyone
He is more on a manga propaganda of "the manga is better than anime" than gatekeeping. And, yes, for moments like this, the manga has an edge over the anime, this is true.
This is the tricky bit about adapting. There are things that work wonder when you have it in manga, in novel or in animation, but those are all different tricks that would translate poorly in another medium by time. And other times, the ones in charge of the adaptations make a choice, whether good or bad, harder to tell.
Womp womp @@DygoKnight
Bro woke up and decided to make a mountain out of a molehill
That editing really did the impact, though. 🤝🏼💯
Do you have a video on scenes the anime butchered? (I know theres one on anime censorship)
I have this one: th-cam.com/video/vphI-uhSu28/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUSbWFuZ2EgYW5pbWUgbmFydXRv
Didnt see this part of Naruto but it seems like theres a compromise possible
Make the scene play out as in anime, but after Minato teleports dont animate Obito moving at all until the moment of impact - or vice versa animate Minato bringing down his arm much faster.
Damn. My whole life was a lie. The whole experience is ruined now. Whats even the point of watch naruto anymore
Actually, i almost never read the manga (just to compare a few moments), but can confirm in manga it looks way too cool and fast.

Fighting your sensi is an automatic nerf. They might have taught you everything you know, but not everything they know.
Bro. When you are right you are right.
If Obito seen him teleport out of kumi the first time, what was Obito going to do to get him the second time?
