- Is Sonic Frontiers Best On the Nintendo Switch?... or should you get this new open world sonic game on other systems like Playstation, Xbox, Or VALVE's Steam Deck?... well, i bought the games on PS5, Steam Deck, and of course The Switch! Got it on the switch and dearly regret not buying for PC instead. Most other games I bought for the switch do not have noticeable differences but man this one is another story.
I've played it on the switch and I can safely say it's definitely good!
That was what I needed to hear. I'm a big fan of Sonic and the only console I have is the NSW

I got it on switch and it looks terrible in handheld mode, the only mode I use.
I don't get the bashing or harsh criticisms from TH-camrs regarding the Nintendo Switch ports of any game. Comparing a PS5 to Nintendo Switch in terms of technical performance is ridiculous and unfair . The PS5 is a 4k system to begin with. The Switch gives people on the go a convenient option. My son takes it on the plane, in the hotel room etc. You have the convenience of playing on the go and docked to your TV. My TV is a higher end Samsung 4K oled and this game shows beautifully on it. My TV naturally upscales anything to near 4K with little to no blur . Playing it maybe on some cheap TLC may show the flaws. Not on my Samsung 4k .🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
@@partyatmyfuneral1 play on Samsung, LG or Sony 4kTV and adjust to game mode. Acceptable and pretty decent.
I like to think of my switch as the "cartoony console" for sonics animal crossings undertales amd deltarunes, while my playstation is the "hero console" for marvel/dc
Switch is obsolete, just emulate it
I really don't get why people bash the switch version of sonic frontiers when the hardware has been out way longer than modern consoles, yeah they had to chop a lot of things for the switch version but they still made it comparable to the other versions and honestly after playing through it I can say it's that they tried their very best putting it on switch, is it perfect? No, God no, but it's still pretty good and yes it looks alright on handheld I have a switch lite so yeah I really can't do much about it
The comparisons are stupid and unfair. Nintendo Switch is the only hybrid console and that is why it's the most sold console in North America and the world in the last 5 years. Over 110 million units sold. Sonic Mania's sale was contributed mostly by Nintendo Switch's sales over 52% while other platforms shared up the remaining 48%.
PS5 vs Nintendo Switch is a stupid and unfair comparison. He should have compared PS5 version to Xbox series X version and compare Switch's version to Xbox one or PS4 version since the Switch belongs in that generation.
@@misterlexx2721 people don't get that the switch has been out way longer than ps5 or Xbox series X, and it's old hardware they tried their very best putting it on switch, sure they made a lot of Quality sacrifices for the switch version they put quantity over quality which in my opinion was a smart move
@@channelstark With over so many million units of Switch sold in the last 5 years it would have been a bad financial decision not to port it over on the Switch. People who only have Switch will buy it for our kids and ourselves too.

It feels slower on Switch because of the inconsistent frame-pacing at 30fps that plagues every version, Generations and Unleashed on older Xboxes felt a lot better to play than this
no issues on ps5, runs amazingly

I have the ps5 version of this game but I recently bought the switch version just for on the go cus I don't have a steamdeck but I'm still pretty sure I'll have a fun time
To be honest, if you have a decent modern high end TV, it upscales even Standard definition 450p to almost 4k. Samsung, LG or Sony's TV processors can tweaked to suit gaming with no blur.

ive got it on ps4 and its good things def load alot slower and theres no 60fps but its decent

I think the PS5 vs Xbox series x would have been a fair comparison. Having a highly graphical aaa title on the go in the train or on a plane will have some compromises. The hybrid convenience is valuable to people who bought a full Version Switch ( not lite) . Playing on a high end modern model of Samsung, Lg or Sony's 4k TV can easily upscale the quality and different modes to reduce or eliminate any slow processing or blur.
Definitely going to buy the game on ps5

Iv played 5 hours and i still like being sonic,i hope they make another one but no digital world,just normal world.
after Sonic forces and now this one its clear that Sonic team are not good in making a good port for switch. Could have been better no doubt. Just look at Doom eternal. The optimiztion Is fantástic, they even used 5 different levels of LoD in a way you dont even notice.
Doom Eternal is the worst on Switch. It's good for the system, not a good way to play it if you have other means to.
The Switch is showing it's age. Sonic Team shouldn't have to downgrade a massive scale game and it's potential, just so they can fit it on Nintendo's iPad
@@HauntyHollow of course its the worse versión, but at least Is a good version. Its funny because even at 30 fps Is More playable than the other consoles because of the gyro option (i tried it to play it un xbox series and playing without gyro Is a massive difference)
@@HauntyHollow I feel doom isnt bad on Switch, and i agree the switch is showing its age and devs shouldnt have to downgrade their games just to have them on the system but, i feel thats less to the do with the switches overall power and more just how each dev goes about handling how they optimize their games
Sega did terrible porting this game. The 30 FPS issue is more acceptable on Switch due to being an underpowered last generation console but Series S also has the 30 FPS problem which is unacceptable since it is a new gen console that is more than powerful enough to run it at 60 FPS.
@@BigGreen945 no doubt , the optimiztion on series S Is bad. How can a 1060 with i3 run at Max settings 60fps (1080p) and not a series S.
I have it on the series S and it runs really smooth and the texture is amazing

We've been at 1080p since PlayStation 3 for. years 1080p on consoles now why was the switch only 720P I'd only buy exclusives on the switch everything else I will play on other consoles

Looks absolutely terrible on switch. I returned it and got the series x version. Also, open world music is so slow and boring, totally doesn't fit with sonic, "gotta go fast theme" .. Fun game other than that.
Plan on getting on ps4 when the price drops

The only games I would say look best on Switch are indie titles, mostly because they work better on smaller screens. pixel shit doesn't benefit from being blown up. Everything else will obviously look better on other platforms.
SRPGs and other turn-based games are often best on handheld.
@@Qlawkes I’m speaking graphically. Obviously the switch has lower specs than Xbox, PS and PC. But some do look better on the smaller screen such as pixel games as the one person stated. But in docked mode it’s a very different story.
