This was such an interesting, amazing video. There were many animals out there. The envionment seemed so rugged, and desolate. You reminded us that it is Winter, Doug. I had heard about Hilton flying people to, and from his ranch. I didn't realize how remote it is/was! How I'd love to see those signatures of famous people who stayed at the ranch. I can understand why there are caretakers... The few homesteads out there absolutely interest me. How would those children_ 30 miles from *civilization, get to school, and back I wonder. WOW, this video really was enjoyable, and very informative. 🎉Thank you, Doug and Kellie for another, super video. BTW, I always look forward to your luncheons. This looked like another yummy one. 🏡🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
You never cease to amaze with something different in Nevada. Thanks for the extra special trip around the Wassuk mountain range. Interesting to see the Flying M Ranch. The original owner was Stanfield Murphy hence the letter M. Barron Hilton didn't change it in honor to his late wife Marilyn. Merry Christmas to you Doug and Kellie too!

We will have to do that trip to Hawthorne soon. The Flying M Ranch was what it was called before the Hiltons bought it. They kept the name because Barrons wife's name started with M. I think Mary? Barron also donated the money to build the Catholic Church's community room in Yerington. A plaque on the wall there gives the information and maybe the date. Those orange balls are to show pilots where power wires are. Safety. My dad's mother's ( my Grammy) side are in the family tree of General Phil Sheridans. Interesting about cookies. Ill have to cook more bread ! Lol And thanks for the honorable mentions. Matt & Laura.
@@matt89447 That is so interesting, all the background information, thank you. Definitely, we all need to bake more bread, er, I mean test more bread with the cookies. I will volunteer for that. Really enjoyed watching your peaceful, interesting video this christmas morning. I know some of the big ranchers and their ranch hands on the other side of the Sweetwater Mountains to the west. Merry Christmas to the both of you!
You passed the pine grove ghost town 5 miles from 208 on the right. We had fun exploring that one. There is a cool cemetery there as well. We kayaked down the west walker getting there from minden side. Talk about a dangerous kayak adventure be prepared for t post in the middle of the river. The fishing was amazing on the west side.
