Plant droppage happens to the best of us - I just did the same thing a couple of weeks ago. It's cold here in Minnesota and I finally have my plants back in the house much worse for wear the rabbits and squirrels chewed up quite a few of them. Every year I tell myself not to put any outside. But it's a good way to thin the herd.
You are EXACTLY right about needing a lot of bright natural light for these to grow and have bigger leaves indoors. I am sorely lacking in good natural light in my house, so I put mine right in front of a grow light. Well..It just gave me the tiniest crap leaves it could, lol. I t was also near a humidifier🙄. As soon as I put it outside for the spring and summer it EXPLODED in beautiful growth!🤷 I've also had the same experience with other SOH since then
Hope your head and the plant are okay. I have not had good luck with string of anything. I’ve killed 2 SOH and a SOP. Currently have a string of buttons and turtles that are surging but not thriving.

That all rings true with my experience, too.
And let them dry out between waterings.
Those string of plants are always so tough to get nice and full! OMG hope your head is ok.. that is so scary, those terra cotta pots are heavy 😱😱
