100% agreed, cutting and pups from my family and friends are my absolute favorite plants above ones I can just get at the store. I feel the same about golden pothos, I see them everywhere so am not as drawn to them but as soon as I have them in my home they are just soo gorgeous. The extra white variegation is so pretty! The stromanthe triostar is HUGE so pretty. Enjoy your new plants!!
My white princess grows relatively fast. Mine also threw a half moon pink leaf, but all the other leaves on the same stem grew only white. Im in Australia and the only thing i can think of why it had a pink leaf was from the heat and humidity, because i haven't been able to get it to have any more pink, though having said that i would rather the white leaves as thats the reason i brought it. The plants u got as cuttings from your parents are beautiful cuttings, and i also love getting plants from friends and family, it always makes me love them just that little bit more.
I also don’t let my triostar dry out between waterings. I’m contemplating a self watering pot for mine though as I’ve heard they do great and I’ll do anything to keep her alive. Yours is beautiful, I’m sure she will survive
About the Stromanthe - mine is in a self watering pot (Lechuza) and its never done so well. It's easily given me 10 new leaves over the winter so far. They love humidity and to be kept "damp".
I've had a small triostar for like a year and a half now, it's never had more than 7 leaves at a time and now it's battling some thrips but It's been a fighter... I srsly have no idea how I've kept it alive for so long... However in my previous home it received very low light and stopped producing the white, and now I have it right by an eastern window and the white is back. Right now I'm trying to re-root my third attempt at a christmas cactus... it bloomed right after I got it and then it started looking sadder and sadder and well, when I decided to check the soil or the roots there were no roots left pfff... Good luck on your new plants!
I’m asking for thoughts and prayers for my spider plant. My triostar is one of my favorite plants; I water at 7, but it’s in a cabinet. My white princess grows pretty quick!
I would not let the triostar dry out I keep mine in a self watering pot, not the wicking kind of pot but the kind that has a reservoir under it and the roots grow into it. So my soil does get pretty dry but the roots are in water.
I also have mine in a self watering pot too,I have mine for about 5 months now and it’s doing great! I even put my orbifolia in a self watering pot also and it too is doing good.

I’m glad I’m not alone in my golden slander 😂 I’m excited to see if that white stays.
Cool Philodendrum I've never hear of that one before
Thanks! I’ll try not to kill it 🤣
Good luck with the triostar! That's one I always take a pass on.
I wish I had your strength 🤣

I may transfer that one to a Lechuza. I’m so desperate for it to live, I’ll do anything lol
Beautiful plants. I want a triostar just haven’t found a good specimen yet.
It’s hard to find ones that don’t look close to death.

No roots left?!? That’s horrifying. Like, I’d actually scream in horror 😭
@@SoiledPlant I have no idea what happened to them

All the thoughts and prayers 🙏 You’ve given me hope for my WP :)

Interesting. Did you rig it up yourself? Or is that something you bought?

I let my triostar dry out between waterings, even on summer time. It´s been 2 years and it's beautiful. i think you should do it the same.
Interesting 🤔
