Affinity Designer was always problematic with putting things in a perfect circle. This seems to have fixed that nicely. Thanks Trent, this channel is awesome👍😎👍
Thank you! It's been driving me nuts trying to duplicate things and then arranging them manually, I'm doing a design for a friend with polka dots on it so thank heavens for your video, it's going to make life sooooo much easier!
Dude, I've been using Adobe Illustrator for over 20 years and I'm trying to get up to speed with Affinity apps. This video was the most helpful one I've found so far for the features I use day-to-day, thanks for sharing!
Hi Trent, thanks a lot, very useful tutorial, just to ask if you know how it works on iPad Pro with the affinity designer? I don’t know where to find the data entry tool and holding the arrow key to duplicate seems don’t work on the iPad Pro, i have the Magic Keyboard but still it doesn’t work with the two features, can you help me?
Hi @annabellelee8! I don't have much experience with the iPad version, but I did some searching and it sounds like CMD J may work with the keyboard according to this thread: forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/61655-affinity-designer-for-ipad-power-duplicate/ Hope this helps! Trent
Hi Trent, excellent video as always. By the way, I notice that this video is not in the "Affinity Designer" playlist, maybe you forgot to put it there or intentionally didn't put it there, idk.
Hi Chris! I just tried it on my MacBook and it seems to work. I am using the trackpad. If I select the shape tool (ex: Rectangle) and I click-and-hold the trackpad to draw a rectangle, while still holding the trackpad I can use my other hand to press the arrows keys. Pressing the arrow keys adds/removes a shape, and holding them increases/decreases the spacing. It is definitely tricky with a trackpad. Probably a mouse would be easier. But it does work for me. Let me know if you're still having a problem!
@@TechnicallyTrent Hi - I'm using a mouse & I cannot get it to work. To be clear, when I'm using whichever shape, as long as I'm dragging & holding the arrow key, I should get another shape? It's not working - 2019 MacBook Pro, current OS & AD is also current.
@@ChrisOmfHare1 Hi Chris...try tapping the arrow key to get another shape (while dragging). Once you have more than one shape, holding the arrow key will adjust spacing. Hope this helps!
How do you turn this feature on? I do exactly as this video shows and all I get when I am hitting the right arrow on my keyboard is the moving position of the square I drew; no duplicates. I’m on affinity 2.3 for iOS.
Hi @letssamplethis7641, unfortunately I think this feature is not in the iPad version. I've seen some people mention workarounds on the Affinity Forums, but I don't believe it is fully supported: forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/174497-power-duplicate/
Hi @darbs3380, sorry to hear it isn't working. Can you explain which step is causing problems? If you draw a shape (such as a circle) and then hit ENTER with the circle selected, do you see the Move/Duplicate window appear? Are you on Affinity Designer version 2?

@@TechnicallyTrent thank you, Trent, and I hope they can make the data entry tool possible on the iPad ☕️

Hi @saksornboonta4322, thanks! I've added it now.
I just upgraded to 2.3 & the arrow keys are not doing what yours are? Any suggestions? Running a 2019 MacBook Pro w/current OS

I don't know how you do this as it does not work on my AZERTY keyboard non of the operations you make work.
