    When I installed the new vents, I used a piece of painter’s tape to hold the bottom and then pushed the top in with my big pry bar. You can be gentle. Just listen for the the clip on the top to snap in to place. Easy job! Thanks to the Louisiana Cajun Recipes! I love this guy!

    I have to admit that this has now become my favorite TH-cam video. I need to do this job and my wife was complaining about me having to take out the backseat but she inadvertently led me to my spirit animal. This guy talks like I think all day everyday and I love it! Thank you so much for the video as it helped me out a lot and also let me know that there’s at least one other badass in this world and I should’ve known he was from the south like myself. Keep on keepin on buddy. Gonna go back and watch this 9 or 10 more times.

    Thanks for making this video I need to fix this on my truck. I discovered a great way to dry the carpet on my truck that's been having water leak issues. Pull up the plastic trim along the bottom of the doors, then put old towels in between the carpet, carpet underlayment pad, and the floor pan. The towels will draw the moisture right out of the carpet and carpet underlayment pad. it works best if they are in their flat and have lots of contact with the carpet. When the towels are wet change out for dry ones. Opening the doors on on a sunny day will finish drying them out.

    • @007bondjb
      @007bondjb  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great! If you change your carpet and padding the seats will have to come out. Do like I did, remove the rear door sills, spray lysol on the padding and carpet, then use wooden blocks to lift the pad off the floor pan, put one between the pad and carpet also. Blow fans into these areas while your truck is parked w windows cracked open, I did it for a week, dried it out completely

GM never designs or use materials can surpass the age of brittle electric connector clips. They just wanna have you to go buy a new one from their dealer item inventory till it runs out. I even thought about soaking or coating the flaps with brake fluid to soften up the rubber. Love your gim'me back hacks!

    I don't think this is the fix for me sadly. I've got an 08 extended cab with suicide doors, and can't figure out where it had a mildew smell starting. The truck has been sitting all summer as a backup, but never leaked while I was driving it daily. I finally saw a few drops of water on the back passenger door panel, on the upper part of the seat belt cover. So the water for me has to be coming in from top down. The headliner does show water came in, but it spread out so far I don't know it it's the window or the groove on the roof. I didn't think about the gasket for the 3rd brake light, but it is an aftermarket one installed by prev. owner. I hope I don't have to tear apart the interior to solve this...
    EDIT: I only assume this isn't the fix, since the truck hasn't been driven. But it does sit out in an open semi truck yard. if anyone on here thinks the NW wind could blow in there and force the rain water up to the top of the cab, please lmk. I'd spend the $50 if these would fix the issue.
