This Guy shows some of the best Martial arts technics for southpaw's. I enjoys his videos everytime. Let him show much more, he is great. Thanks for Sharing!
Big fan of these short little technique videos. Real simple explanations for some good setups. Something worth noting - this is just as good for orthodox fighters up against southpaws. Just need to be in open stance vs closed.
I agree, I would love to see more southpaw set up options. Im going to try my first fight at age 48 and have been trying to fight from both sides but I am looking for more southpaw options - Good Stuff DJ
Hello Sean and DJ! First off thanks for all the informative videos they've been such a big help in expanding my MT knowledge especially as a fellow Southpaw fighter like DJ. However I've got a question about DJ's stance. I've noticed that in training videos he stands with his rear foot farther back than what was taught to me. I've always been instructed to keep a squared stance with my rear behind my lead but not "too" far out so as my power kicks would not have to come from a continent away so to speak. I've not been training for long only a year and a couple of months my question is if I should adopt a stance more similar to DJ's or just keep with my traditional basic MT stance? And If I continue with my stance would it make techniques like these less effective? Thanks guys!
The stance is kind of dependent on the individual. I personally have my back foot pointed more forward with my heel up from the ground, but I know plenty of fighters who the rear foot in a different position. Your best bet is to test out different variations and see what makes most sense to you. For example, my stance changes between offense and defense, so there isn't one stance I use.
I never kick the same twice in a row. I know it's counter to the idea of a setup, but I benefit from breaking their concentration with every kick, because they don't know where it's going. Low, inside, high, body, switch, teep, fake/switch, etc.
YES. That is how I broke my foot last month. But you see I used to do kung fu. Dipshits taught us to kick with the top of our feet. Don't Do That. Use the shin. Always use the shin. Use the sharp part of the shin. Not the flat part. Anderson silva once kicked with the flat part and broke his leg. Hence why turning your hips over is important.
didnt even think of this one.. more southpaw stuff plz lol its hard to find stuff for us online
No its not
Thank you for this video, It's great to have legit southpaw videos being released on the regular.
This even works when they opponent knows its coming haha! nice one!

thanks!
Great; but how do I get my kick that high :( Really great lesson, thanks.
Sneaky. I love it.
I have a question, when kicking your opponents arms like youre doing here , do you run the risk of breaking your foot
If you connect on the elbow?

Elbow > top of my foot.

It wuz light
So he threw bunch of middle kicks and one head kick at the end
Dizni he threw 2 mid kicks , then an inside leg kick , then to the head.
No type of control with this guy.
