I'm just going to pretend/assume they let go of the dogs when going for their swords and since they're tracking dogs and not fighting dogs they just took off back to the kennel lol
I wonder if Melisandre genuinely feels bad about what happened to Stannis, his family, and all of the other people she burnt alive. She may blame herself, which I mean granted, it is kinda her fault that all of those people are dead because she’s been brainwashing those guys ever since season 2.
