I’m 62 (actually kinda old, lol) and I’m not really confused with any of the terms you spoke of…but I AM confused when I hear a non-binary person refer to themselves as gay or lesbian as this means being attracted to the same gender. But when I’ve seen videos of non-binary people saying they are gay or lesbian, they do seem to mean they are attracted to people of the same biological sex as them. I feel we are missing, or I am ignorant of, a term for non-binary people attracted to men, women, or other non-binary people. Pansexual would seem to cover the “attracted to all” category.
this is an interesting point! since i’m not non-binary i can’t answer it fully, but from my perspective a person’s sexuality has to do more so with sex than gender (controversial take, but i do believe this is where people’s “genital preferences” come into play) - so a non-binary person’s sexuality most likely refers to the sex characteristics they’re attracted to, not the gender of the person. i could be wrong tho!

I understand male, female and transgender because transman or transwoman is still a gender nonetheless. But for someone like myself & I know I'm not the only one like this, I will never understand "non-binary," choosing absolutely no gender is very odd to me. Yes, our biological genders will never define who we are as individuals, but I don't see any purpose with no gender & this is solely due to so many people out there caring far too much in what other people think about them imo. I personally don't care if biological men (as long as they're not creeps and at least sensible & modest ones)-I don't give a crap if you wear girl clothes, but where some biological men end up drawing the line at is using women's facilities. Other than that, wear whatever you want. If biological girls can wear guy's clothes, then why can't biological guys do the same thing? I've already watched this video, but this is the exact couple that I admire because despite their differences and not falling into the traditional form (for lack of a better phrase) in a male/female relationship, they're both still being their 100% true selves in their biological bodies: th-cam.com/video/3HLnSD0drEE/w-d-xo.html. The reason most other ppl/couples don't do things like this is b/c of societal expectations and/or getting judged for it. I know gender identity is prob. more than dressing in girl or guy clothes, but the majority of the time-it seems to be based off of what one chooses to wear out in public.
there is no such thing as a “biological gender” - gender is not a biological trait, but rather a construct associated with social roles. gender is not biologically determined, and a person’s gender identity does not always match expectations associated with assigned biological sex. cis men can wear women’s clothes and vice versa, nobody is stopping them from doing that - so why is it a problem when a trans woman wants to wear women’s clothing to affirm her gender? suddenly it’s too confusing to understand and it’s just because they “care far too much what other people think about them.” not everyone experiences gender dysphoria. lots of cis people like yourself don’t adhere to societal expectations of gender roles growing up (in your experience, you were a tomboy, but never questioned your identity as a woman). for trans people, that’s simply not the case. i won’t expect you to understand it on a personal level, but your comment lacks sympathy and respect.

There’s also the myriad of ethnic third or fourth gender categories that don’t fit neatly into the modern western gender binary. For example, in Southern Italy where I am from, we have a third gender called Femminielli, which historically descend from the Greco-Roman concept of the Androgynes of Hermaphroditus, and the Galli, which were Greco-Roman eunuch priests in Turkey who served the goddess Cybele/Magna Mater. Femminielli don’t fit well into western gender categories as they were neither considered fully men or women, yet also simultaneously both. Many Femminielli are/were also intersex in addition to others who are/were AMAB gender non-conforming people.

There isn't a gender binary. Sex is binary as there are only two options. Some cultural allowances were made for those avoiding a heterosexual relationship. It has nothing to do with DSDs or "gender identity" which is a very modern phenomenon
All men have a masculine side to their personality and a feminine side to their personality. In fact, there are endless web pages helping men to express their feminine side. The BBC explains it like this - '"Unlike gays or lesbians or straight people, transgenders can fit into any categories. "Many people do it for different reasons. Some men have dressed all their lives from being children; it just comes natural to them, they have their feminine side and they express that. "For others, it's more serious, they do feel like a woman trapped in a man's body, and they will go on to have sex change operations. "And for some, it's just a little experiment."'
I identify as a bisexual trans man. I have been on testosterone for about five months. I thought I knew all of the labels for sexualities and gender identities but it would seem that I am actually quite behind.
Great vid, I think its good to keep up with the terms and support my nonbinary siblings. Its a journey. I went agender at first when questioning and glad for the community even though I came out as more of just man. Also there is lot of ethnic nonbinary identities that been around for millennias so its not a new thing just people more aware of them and people trying to find the words to describe their existence in a world that actively still punishes people outside the cishet norm.
You know what mate, as a conservative, I still appreciate listening to people like you who definitely got a different perspective than mine. Even if I kinda disagree on a lot of points, I deeply respect someone that affirm his beliefs. Respect.
somebody who identifies as female but prefers to express their gender as a bit more masculine than most, whether that’s thru the clothes they wear, the way they act, the sports they play, etc. for example when i thought i was a tomboy i would wear men’s clothing and very minimal makeup (even tho i abused the hell out of eyeliner), i called myself a “chapstick lesbian”, which was basically my way of saying “i feel more masc than femme, but im still a girl” - which is funny looking back now
@aktdoa Thanks for replying. I grew up in the country with all older brothers, no sisters, and they were my role models, I wanted to emulate them. Mom wasn't into girly things... As a result, I've always understood men and their thinking better than a woman's, but I always thought of myself as a female. It wasn't until my 40's (I'm 63 now) that I started using makeup, and I love being a bit more "girly girl", but I'll always have my "tomboy" heart. ❤️
no worries, glad i could help! i’m glad you’ve been able to explore further into your gender identity recently and am happy to hear that you’re enjoying expressing yourself in ways you feel comfortable :)

I am well over 50. I am ftm transgender and I present socially as a man, but I know what my chromosomes are. I don't deny my genetics. TRANS GENDER By definition is transition to the 'other' gender. Physically, genetically impossible, HOWEVER, to be comfortable in society we can make our appearance like the gender we identify with. In our society, male and female gender appearances are very specifically defined. I do not understand why all of those different labels fall under the label of transgender when they do not fit the definition. IMO, this has really hurt transgender people. Transgender is NOT A COMMUNITY OR MOVEMENT. It is an individual (medical) decision. All these labels make "Transgender" people sound like flaky, undecided and mentally unstable people who feel they need a 'group' to belong to. Please stop. Please. Leave individual transgender people out of this pronoun and label debate. This isn't a 'trend' or a 'fad' or 'something cool'. Dysphoria isn't a joke. Transitioning my appearance was necessary for my emotional (and physical) survival. And since my transition, no one has ever questioned my gender identity because my outside matches my inside and I'm happy. Yeah. I'm that "old (trans) guy.
People are treating it as a fad, or a trend, but it`s running out of steam, it will leave the news cycle more and more with political elections looming (neither of the larger parties want to touch it) and you will be left alone, away from the pronoun, deadname, ally, etc nonsense.
Every human being is male or female and some are gay or lesbian. Nothing to be confused about. It's become fashionable to pick a special identity for yourself like kids used to be rockers or goths. Hopefully it's passing because it's tedious with no decent music or fashion element
@@ayeright320 It`s passing because it can`t really be seriously commercialised...there`s flags and pins, but nobody`s going to make a fortune opening venues for agender demigirls.

Respect.
OH MY GOD I FOUND HIM. THIS IS THE GUY THAT MADE THE TIKTOK ABOUT LYING TO CIS PEOPLE,, I HAVE BEEN LOOKING EVERYHERE
It was a trend that was on-line, but now is fading because it`s become ridiculous.
What would you consider a "tomboy"?
somebody who identifies as female but prefers to express their gender as a bit more masculine than most, whether that’s thru the clothes they wear, the way they act, the sports they play, etc. for example when i thought i was a tomboy i would wear men’s clothing and very minimal makeup (even tho i abused the hell out of eyeliner), i called myself a “chapstick lesbian”, which was basically my way of saying “i feel more masc than femme, but im still a girl” - which is funny looking back now
@aktdoa Thanks for replying.
A perfectly normal girl who used to be allowed to be herself without anyone telling her to get a double mastectomy or poison her body with testosterone.
Yeah sadly
Is anybody like me there gay or lesbain n totally confused by all this stuff?
that’s what my videos are for, to help educate people like you so you have a better understanding of the transgender community :)
@@aktdoa thanks
Every human being is male or female and some are gay or lesbian. Nothing to be confused about. It's become fashionable to pick a special identity for yourself like kids used to be rockers or goths. Hopefully it's passing because it's tedious with no decent music or fashion element
@@ayeright320 It`s passing because it can`t really be seriously commercialised...there`s flags and pins, but nobody`s going to make a fortune opening venues for agender demigirls.
So neutoce is basically nonbinary but more specific nice
"Normal" is the new "transgressive".
what the hell is transgressive
@@aktdoa "TRANSGRESSIVE"
adjective
1.involving a violation of moral or social boundaries.
so how is “normal” transgressive? it doesn’t violate any moral or social boundaries. it’s just a word
These labels are totally ridiculous. I literally cannot stand it.
You're so sensitive
Oh comments getting taken down - how predictable. You eithet bow down to the cult or you're not allowed to say anything. Pathetic
what comments are taken down? i can see all the hate comments you’ve left unfortunately
Transmasc demiboy here, great short vid for those needing an explainer
glad it was helpful!
Not trying to be offensive but wth is that..meaning plz
dude your not old ur young 😭
😊 great video 😊
thanks as always!
Thanks for the education
thanks for watching!
This is satanic.
💀💀
bit of a stretch there Brinley!
@@aktdoa not at all
@@Cabin7_official Transgenderism is satanic. Genesis 1:27 says God made them “male and female.” No matter how hard some people try, they can’t wish away this fundamental physical reality-and that’s a good thing.
Wasn't the first satanic panic pathetic enough for you? It wasn't satanic back then and it's not now. Please go outside and touch grass.
Ableist video with very poor audio, does she hate deaf people
???
the audio works perfectly on my end! sorry to hear that that’s not the case for you though
@@aktdoa Check your privilege then as an able-bodied person with good hearing
@@PandaHernandez23 the nerve to say this after misgendering him.. and the video has captions too.
@@dev_exe she doesn’t care about deaf people not thinking about her audio quality so whatever
This is really just an ideological delusion
everyone’s entitled to their own opinions!
@@aktdoaApparently not because comments not going along with this nonsense are getting taken down.
@@ayeright320 i don’t remove any comments under my videos. if your comments are being removed, it’s most likely due to TH-cam’s automatic detection system for comments that violate their community guidelines. in other words, you’re being silenced for being a bigot!
@@aktdoawhen "facts" are described as "hate" it shows how deluded you are. Grow up and stop trying to groom children into your dangerous lifestyle
@@aktdoa Oh yeah- either agree with you or get called a heap of nasty names. The "be kind" crew is always the same.
