I listen every day your president talking, and other topics from formal situations, and wonder- why language teachers , especially for a Chinese as a second language , race reading like it is a competition in speed reading, four times quicker than what I hear in those programs. They talk in a nice moderate speed, clearly separating words, with brakes to breath inside the sentence, so my mind can follow. What is this speed about???? Not only you, all language teachers. I see that in film industry everybody is copying idiotic american collage of speeded sounds and visuals, but here we are not interested in that.
