I have the prior M12 circ saw. I thought it was a piece of junk at first. Recently I had a job where I needed to make a lot of cuts with it instead of the table saw and it just was not getting the job done… went out and bought that 5.0 HO battery and now I’m quite pleased with the saw. The batteries make a difference.

Sadly, people don't understand tools and battery tech. Regardless of brand. Like how the HO batteries increase performance in fuel tools... Few people understand. FYI, the 6ah M18 battery produces more power than the 8 or 12ah oddly. Of course doesn't last as long... But produces more power. "The Torque Channel" on TH-cam is amazing if you haven't checked it out already. They test impacts, ratchets, lights, and batteries, and a bit more. Amazing channel. Great easy to understand graphs.

@@meme5887 funny how it didn’t really occur to me considering I often grab a bigger battery for my dewalt stuff when I know I need more power than the compact batteries offer but didn’t connect the dots at all on my M12 CP batteries. But then again usually the compact dewalt ones still get the job done, unlike those compact m12s that really don’t do much at all.
The m12 compacts quickly get eaten up by my vacuum and circ saw and give insufficient power to the circ saw. They’ve worked great on my impact driver, ratchet, staple gun, multitool, rotary tool, and pin nailer though.

    • @meme5887

@@christophercrawford2736 Well the fact you even mentioned an m12 vacuum says it all! Haha. Vacuums are super hungry. The only way I'd consider getting and m12 vacuum is if 1) AMAZING deal. 2) If I had kids or a bigger vehicle like an SUV to keep it in as an emergency vacuum in the car. I personally have the M18 briefcase vac and love it. Specifically bought the 12ah (on a good deal obviously) for it. Although I wish I had the packout vac. Would be much better having the hose outside. And the 1.5ahs are complete wastes. Only worth anything if the tool you're buying is already a great deal regardless of it coming with a 1.5

@@meme5887 I didn’t want to buy more batteries but really needed a vacuum for a job. Had the dewalt 20/60v batteries and the m12 batteries. The employee at the lumber store said the m12 vacuum is surprisingly often better than the m18. I decided to give it a try. I love it. The form factor and the power is way better than my dewalt vacuum I had that got stolen. I honestly pretty much never used the cord on that one even though it was dual power. And wasn’t willing to pay FlexVolt vacuum prices…

    • @christophercrawford2736

@@meme5887 I got a m12 starter kit with an impact, 2 batteries, and a ratchet to work on my car while my dewalt stuff was the clean stuff free of motor oil I’d bring in to customer’s homes.
Someone broke in my truck and stole most of my tools but left behind the case with the m12 stuff in it fortunately so I rebuilt my tool set with some dewalt and tons of Milwaukee too using just those freebie CP batteries. Most of the engine grease is on the impact and ratchet anyway and the hard plastic is something I could wipe off easily if I did get them dirty.
I had the dewalt vacuum before and liked that it could be used corded or cordless(kinda miss the cord in a pinch) but since they stole it and I hated the form factor and lackluster power but was unwilling to shell out big bucks on the FlexVolt one, I went for the m12. The guy at the lumber store said that in his experience the m12 is more powerful than the m18 too(probably not meaning new PackOut). I don’t have Milwaukee PackOut, I have Dewalt ToughSystem and Flex StackPack(eventually will be 100% StackPack) and it’s nice that I can just throw it on top of my toolboxes, strap it down if I need to, and also pile more things on and around it.

Agreed on this saw - it sounds too slow to work. But it cuts right through and its light weight makes it easy to handle, especially in awkward positions. Looks like I got a screaming deal, saw w/blade, charger, two batteries like yours (no bag) was either $159 or $179 (getting old - don’t remember like I used to). Unfortunately, I just looked around and can’t find any offers like that now.

The knockoff 9ah doesn't have the cutoff the genuine do. That's why it gives the tool more "life"

@@james2042 I must be buying them from the wrong places I've bought 2 and they didn't last a month!

@Mcklusky12341 I never said they last. I said they give the tool more oomph. They have 9 cells, it's a 3p battery. They're only good for like 5-6ah combined, but the 9 cells with no limiter will provide a lot more go, while the battery still works

Milwaukee is the apple of tools. People will buy it no matter if they need it or not. Regardless of price. They are now overpriced for what they offer.

40 dollars more you get m18 brushless circ saw and hammer drill so the m12 fuel just doesn’t make sense
