I have the same issue on our family 01 dodge Durango. I will check to see if this year model has another relay .before I tackle down the motor resistor. 😎,grazias amigo.
Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into this. I've been driving my (purchased new) '98 Durango for the last two years without the high fan setting. The relay from Autozone part#35928 cost me $9.56, some scrapes on my fingers, a hand cramp, and voila! the problem was solved.
'00 SLT still has it. This is where you find the blinker module as well. I have a 98, 99, 00, 03, and 05. I'll check the 03 later and verify if it too has it
Bought this 98 Dakota a few days ago. Having a similar problem. My blower will not work on any speed setting. Looked behind this fuse panel and I didn't see the yellow block shown here. I am stumped again.
I have a heater that won't work o an 85 Dodge ram truck. No burned fuse no burned resister. The motor works when hot wired. I also replaced the climate control. What could it be?
Great tip. I have a 2000 Dodge Durango, and I too have a hidden fuse/relay block under dash. 5.9L Limited edition SLT; 4 wheel drive. They only made 2000 of my VIN model for the State of OR.
BTW - whoever said that the blower motor removal/replacement is the same as the Dakotas are full of Sh*t. I have to pull the whole dash to remove the blower housing to get to the blower motor assembly.
That's what my 1999 Durango did. Started about two weeks. Low fan and later a soft rumbling sound. Today it stopped working completely. Will take a look at it over the next few days, but based on my symptoms I suspect a bad blower. Easy check by connecting a power cable directly from the blower to the batter.
Nice. You wanna buy an 02?!. :P. Cant wait to get rid of mine, they nothing but problems! :-(. I only have low heat when going down the road. I replaced the resister afew months ago, and it blew like a jet engine, and now nothing again! :-(. Does resisters go bad more often than I could ever fathom?. Any advice is better than none. Thxs.
did you ever get this fixed? im having the same problem with my 02 dakota. haven't tried replacing the resistor yet. you could try using an oem resistor and wires instead of a third party option, maybe that would help with them blowing?
@@hulkamania5071 I ended up buying a used switch and another resister. Bad switch was shorting out resisters. I ended up selling durango not long after. (Easy fix). :P Bought my sons 05 dakpta, and npw haviig electrical issues with that! Go figure A?! :-(
YOU SAVED MY BACON.
Your hours weren't wasted! Thanks for sharing!

I have a 2000 Dodge Durango also and it also has a hidden fuse box does anybody know where to get the relay I'm in Pennsylvania
Great video thanks!
My blower works intermittently. Should I just try changing the number one relay first?
Hummmmmm, perhaps, but that almost sounds more like a electrical short/wiring type issue. Sorry not more helpful...
I just got a 99 and my blower doesn’t work at all.
Same
Dude thank you
Thanks!!!!

Where is the resistor located ? I have the same problem, I have replaced both relays and to no avail.
You get at the resistor from the engine bay, it is recessed into the firewall. There should be several videos showing its location
Mine dosnt even blow . but the rear does ?
I ha e the sme exact issue! Any updates??
Man thanks your a freaking PRO...
Is the relay #2 the same part number as the relay #1? I don’t have a relay in that spot I have the ones below it but not that one
Should be the same, but I don't remember to be perfectly honest. Good luck!
@@lazyebayer ok thanks man I appreciate the video and the advice
What a pain in the ass...I will check those relays...thanks for the video...
hey troy , my name is anthony. does that hidden fuse/relay block also apply to a 98 dodge dakota 3.9 ?
Ant Smith sorry, I am unsure as I do not own a Dakota.
Thanks for the info.
Was the original relay, green?
The hidden one?
Oh man, it's been awhile since I did this, but if I remember it was just a black one. Not 100% sure though.
The green is for the turn signals and e-flashers
Dude. Thanks.
Mine turns on just blows low and warn need help
MrAnointedhope sorry, I am not sure. Just keep googling until you find the symptoms that match your issue.
