Great playthrough Jason! I did notice that at 16:15 you played the Jack of Diamonds to kill the Queen of Diamonds and then refilled your hand - but she's immune to card draw :P You could have lead with Jack of hearts and the pangolin instead of the 6, because then you would have been blocking for 11 instead of 7, meaning that any other card would have been sufficient to cover the hit. The follow up with 6 of spades and you've got it locked down! In any case, you won with a jester to spare so I think even if you had to use it you were always going to get there! Great to see the win on camera and congrats. You have a great way of explaining how you're playing and what you're thinking - it's really special to see others have the same fun with that we had putting it together. Great stuff!

Well done production. Camera always on the game, not spending 3/4 of the screen on your face (which so many do, abject fails.) Pacing and instruction dealt out very nicely. Thanks!
(Several times I thought you should have used your jokers, but hey, it's a decision.)
19:52 - "12 + 8 is 20" (yes, since clubs are doubling all)
20:23 - "I need to deal 10" (yes indeed)
20:39 - "8 + 6 is 14, I need 16 to get to 30" (aaaand you already forgot about it).
Anyway. Great playthrough. I'll probably make many more mistakes when I try it myself. Thank you for showing us this brilliant game. I just learn about it here. I'm going to read the rules now (although you pretty much show them to us) and I am going to try it.
Doh! Oh well, didn't affect the overall playthrough since I couldn't deal exactly 10 damage anyway.

Is the last card play accurate? I think the king had 9 health left, not 8. Anyway you had the cards for it so it's a victory :D
why on 13:42 you play two cards (4 and 7) in the same turn skipping the step4 for the card4Spades?
Because I blocked all of the damage with my spades. I should have articulated that better, though. Thank you.
28:40 I know the Jester lets you avoid damage, but how did you get to dump your hand and refill back to full?
Edit: Never mind, i see now in the rules if in solo play Jester gets different abilities than team play. Very cool!
I have question about combos. Can i make a combo alone?
Nope.
Near 13:30 you play a 4 of spades against the Jack of Clubs and take no damage. Is the Spade power cumulative? You had played an 8 and Ace already.
The spade is cumulative, yes, All spades played on the table add to block whatever damage.
At 10:28 shouldn't you not have drawn since you played a Diamond against a Diamond? Or does it only negate attack/block powers?
At 25:30 ish, you discarded way too much. First you discarded 7, 7, 8, 3 to take 20 damage (which you should have kept the 3) then drew cards and took 20 more damage without attacking (discarding like 5 cards). The 5 of Spades would have insta-exact killed the King and not had you taking any damage.
The mistake at 10:28 is correctly pointed out!
For the second, I only took the damage twice, as was proper (although I did discard an extra 3). I may have done a bit too much talking, obscuring the actual gameplay. Apologies for that.
@@ShelfStories Curious. Why would you have needed to take damage a second time? Perhaps I missed something you said in the video.
@@Thagrynor I took 20 after I played the Jack of Clubs. Then I played the Queen of Diamonds and... talked a lot :). Basically, I was mulling the decision to discard either the 5s or a Jack to absorb the second instance of 20 damage. I ended up taking the second instance of 20 damage by discarding the 5s, and took out the King with the third card play. I hope that is clear.
@@ShelfStories gotcha! For some reason in thinking back, I was thinking the 8773 drop was for the Queen play. That makes sense. Lol .... I thought I was misunderstanding why you discarded twice but couldn't figure out why. Maybe it was because I was thinking you had already discarded the damage when you were discussing what to discard. Looks like I need to pay better attention! Lol
Either way, great play through and looks like a great game, especially since you can play with a standard deck of cards.
Cool game but sadly way to many mistakes in this playthrough, so not that helpful... but like marvel champion its harder true solo ;)
