Dear David I am from Cochin in Kerala and has to point out that what Ebbin is telling you (as well as to other TH-camrs in similar way) are mostly factually incorrect. 1. The arrival of St. Thomas to Kerala is only a belief based story propogated by Christian believers. There is no historical proof that anyone reached and started Christianity in 1st century CE Kerala. Historical evidence of Christians in Kerala starts to surface during late 4th Century CE 2. Kerala has around 18% Christian population (out of 34.8 million people keralites) and not 26% as mentioned by Ebbin. I apologise on behalf of entire Malayalees for the misinformation that was fed to you by an irresponsible person.
If you go to Google Maps and zoom into north Kerala and pan the map around, you’ll see lots of churches, mosques, and temples all scattered over the place. It is truly a place of religious harmony. It sets an example for the rest of the country. It’s unsurprising though, where you have progressive minded, tolerant people, you have peace. Kerala is the most developed place in all of India.
Your videos are so awesome,, being a south Indian i haven't tried the dishes which u have tried , Ebbin is the guy :) .. and thank god his videos have subtitle else i wouldnt have known what he is telling , Much love to you n Ebbin from Bangalore , India :)
Hey man as a Keralite, who lives abroad, and who has lived abroad his whole live, the respect you have for my homestate is really appreciated. You really seem to enjoy being there, and I love the fact that you enjoy all the food. Mad respect bruh! If you let me know when you're down there next time, I can hook you up. My parents run an airbnb in Varkala. They are retired international teachers and they will treat you like a king.
Also not sure how you feel, but living in the America, most of the Indian restaurants I've eaten at are terrible. They tend to lower the spice so much, and make it so bland. I can never understand it, because you never see the same thing for Thai food. In Florida, it doesn't seem like they do that, atleast not with the places you reviewed... Do you notice the same thing?
Yes david this is how u should eat food, if you mix all ingredients together like Vishnu then u won't get any taste....ebin is a very nice person he teached u very well how to eat everything separately...thank god 😂
Sensational work David, that cuisine throughout the house boat experience is authentically Kerala. Kasava and fish/beef/chutney curry is traditional. Kanji shown is a staple diet and the way it was shown is the right way. Complimenting all that is with pearl spot fish(karemeen) , prawns and lastly, toddy. Perfect!!
AT 22:00, we call it KANJI , a sort of rice soup or rice porridge with " KARUWADU", which is dried salt fish fried, with mango or mixed lime pickle... here in Madurai, Tamilnadu ! I would pay a King's Ransom for that food you are eating ! Alas ! I am stuck in Chicago due to lock down now and hope to return home soon !
The information 2.33 minutes is factually incorrect. Christian form around 18.38 % of the population, it was above twenty a few decades ago, but because of migration and low birth rate(compared to Hindus & Muslims) the numbers are coming down. The church(St. Mary's Basilica) shown is of Syro Malabar church; an Eastern Catholic Major Episcopal Church. (I too belong to this community and my ancestors are from Alappuzha)
@@HARSHADtp I live in Borneo, we have plenty of coconut trees, but few people here harvest them for the oil. So the price of coconut oil can be really expensive which I think is very silly!

The beauty of this place is how they are still retaining the history. This should never get modernized. Loved it a lot when I was here.
NOTHING BETTER THAN SITTING ON A HOUSEBOAT IN KERALA BACKWATERS AND ENJOYING TRADITIONAL FOOD WITH SOME DRINKS ALONGWITH.
DON'T ABUSE, I ALSO KNOW BETTER THAN YOU HOW TO USE BAD WORDS. MIND YOUR LANGUAGE.
I AM AN INDIAN. I LIVE IN INDIA. MY NAME IS GANESH, NOT NEW PLYMOUTH. USE PROPER LANGUAGE.

As someone who eats spicy food a lot, I never understood people having digestive problems by eating it, as I've never had any issues.
I love this collab!
