    Great vid, I really love to see people working with a huge variety of geckos that don't get enough love in the hobby! I did want to add though that I feel like the people that watch your vids don't care about there being fancy inserts or an entertaining script. Just you talking about your process and passing on the abundance of wisdom you have is already enough. I could be wrong though and if it's how you love to do your vids then by all means. Just wanted to put in my two cents after having watched some older and more recent vids of yours. Again, thanks for making these and showing off your amazing collection and knowledge! (Ps: So glad to see cave geckos, in particular, making a comeback! Japanese cave geckos are some of the most beautiful naturally colored geckos I've ever seen.)

      Thank you for the wonderful feedback. I really appreciate this. It's always difficult to balance the 'press record and just let it flow' vs. the '8 hours of editting' videos. I enjoy the editing (don't enjoy the time it consumes though). Thanks!

    These look GREAT and what a great price! My only advice, or little thing I would adjust is installing some kind of system to tie these wheeled racks to the wall. JUST in case. Keep it from wheeling off on its own or tipping over.
    A couple of eye-hooks in the wall and a couple of carabiners on the rack itself will do the job.
    Again, these look GREAT

    • @SupremeGecko

      I'm a pretty heavy guy and I would venture to say I could take a Dick Butkus run at the rack and it's not goin' down ( I am sure I would though!). And, I WANT it moving! From the video, this is sitting in front of our bug room door. When we go into the room every other day, I'll roll this rack a foot out of the way. But, good ideas.

    Nice video Wally. Nicely explained.
    I've got 9 of those wire racks and I love them but my problem is that commercial cages don't fit very well. a 48" cage won't fit on a 48 inch rack because you've only got a bit over 45 inches of space between the posts. Likewise 2 18" cages won't fit on a 36 inch rack. You used tubs which can help but if you would have wanted to go with 2 of the larger tubs per rack I think you would have found that they don't fit very well side by side with the lids on. I have some of those same tubs for raising crickets and it takes some jostling to get them on and off the shelves.
    If I were a tub manufacturer I'd take a look at these types of racks before I decided on the final size of my tubs. I'd make them no more than 22.5 inches long and 15 inches wide with the lids. this would allow 2 or 3 three to fit on one rack, depending on how you oriented them, with no wasted space.

    • @SupremeGecko
      @SupremeGecko  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Steve. I completely agree. You wind up with 3 and one small :) And that underutilized space kills me :) These 48" racks are so standard, I doubt we will see anything different. For exos, I always build my own. I have a pretty good video on building one for 15 enclosures.

    I have two of those wire racks here. I keep meaning to buy the wheels for them so I can move them easier when I'm cleaning. I like the idea of using it for geckos too. Right now one is for isopods and the other is for my rodents.
    I look forward to seeing what you produce and maybe picking up a few cave geckos from you later this year :)
