It makes me really sad that the Best Pet videos aren't doing good anymore. They're such a great introduction to specific species and reptiles in general. Right! The taxonomy videos are cool every once and a while, but I want reviews of cool animals to keep. There are so many Clint hasn't done a video on yet.
I used to avoid most of the pet videos, but I've warmed up to them! Maybe not all will pull you in enough to watch 'til the end (or maybe they will!), but it's great to have a resource like this available online for free.

Please continue to make Pet Review content. This videos are how I was introduced to you and I absolutely LOOOVE them. I’ve learned about so many animals and their care from the review videos, even “ordinary house pets”. These are a staple ingredient to my learning.
Hey Clint not sure if you’ll see this. But I run a small Animal Science program at a school in Massachusetts for students with special needs. Myself and the kids care for a number of rescues and rehomed reptiles, my students also travel to other schools where our students teach other kids about the animals they love. I use your Reptile Review videos as a concise and entertaining introduction to various species, I’ll be using your video on Cuban False Chameleons this summer when I introduce our new pair! Please keep making them, they make a difference. Also the kids are huge fans so if you see this we would love to work with you in some way, whether that’s providing you with some b-roll of our animals or if you ever come across an animal you think would benefit from being in our program.
I hear so many stories of people getting reptiles as pets without understanding if it's the right pet for them, As I know some who run a rescue centre, and every year people hand in things like small snakes/lizards because they find out they didn't understand the care. Will agree videos like this are very important for people
These videos helped me a lot in deciding which pet reptiles would be the right fit for me. Now I have three pet lizards, two of which are rescues. I think a lot of people want an exotic pet, but don't want to do a lot of research. These videos make research fun and entertaining which certainly helps.
Snake Discovery say they take in multiple reptiles into their adoption program nearly every single day. That boggles my mind. Pets aren't fair weather friends, you need to know how to take care of them because they are living creatures, not toys you throw at your kids to shut them up then dump for something new.
@@orochifuror7148 The lack of empathy some people have for animals is crazy. Not even from like a vegan standpoint or anything like that, but just in the most basic "think of this from the perspective of something else" way.
I feel like it was the opposite for me… I found out dogs (and most mammals, honestly) aren’t for me. Even so, I loved my dogs for the entirety of their lives, gave them the best care I was able, attended to all of their medical and grooming needs… They were family. Unless I was physically unable to care for them, I would never have considered abandoning them. I don’t get people who see animals (ANY animals) as disposable… 🥺
@@wraith1320 not say it happened the most, Just very comon, Dogs and cats ect are still the most common pet, As I know someone who run exotic animal rescue centre here in Scotland, the amount he gets per year, more so within 3 months at the start of year for the size of Scotland is shocking. So I fully understand why he does these videos, as people do need to understand the what they are getting into before they commit to buying a exotic pet,
Please don't stop the best pet library 😭 they've been a HUGE lifesaver for me as I go to expos and see something then look for your videos to give me a quick summary to make a decision of "do I get one next expo or no?"
your reptile reviews are so important to me at least. Not only did they tell me clearly, concisely and kindly that im not ready for a snake, but also my lil cousin, my friends, and so many more ive told the channel about. Really hope they stay for the long term, even if you decide to move away from em its good to know where ya started off(And were clean shaven, got shocked to realise i didnt notice the beard until now xD)
All of Clint's content is fun and educational. But let's face it: the pet review videos are why this channel is truly great. And the reptile reviews are simply the best. I personally only have one pet reptile (a hognose snake) but these videos pull me in. If I'm on a road trip by myself I will sometimes listen to the playlist of the pet reviews. I guess the videos feel aspirational. I hear about an animal and my mind dreams of what it would be like to have a ton of pet reptiles and how that specific pet would fit in with this dream collection. I do plan to get a few more reptiles and you can bet that these videos play a huge roll in that.
Please keep making these videos. This is why I subscribed to this channel. I don't like the newer content as much, I guess I am in the minority. Still so many species I'd love for you to cover.
I love all the educational videos on phylogeny and such, but these pet reviews have been so useful throughout my very recent foray into exotic pets. Maybe the format could evolve a bit and do more individual dives into the pet, its environment, its habits, etc on top of the 5 criteria? Like a 3-5 minute profile of the animal. I know there are a few of these where Clint really dives into some of the animals at the start of the video (because you can tell he is really excited for that animal) and those were very interesting videos that I almost forgot were pet reviews until the numbers started, lol. This way it's meeting some of what makes your other videos so well watched while still fulfilling the pet review.
@dilboo Leopard geckos are primarily crepuscular, which means they're more active at dawn and dusk, but some people have described them as cathemeral, as they've been observed to be awake at various times throughout the day!
I am very surprised these pet reviews are not so popular. They are so interesting and entertaining. Keeping snakes, reptiles, etc has not been something I’ve even considered before watching your videos, but I find I really love learning about these fascinating creatures. You provide such a wonderful service to the public and to these creatures from these videos. 🦎
I hope that Best Pet videos become more profitable for you again. I'll watch anything you put out, but they're the reason I subscribed. I'm not the sort to keep pets, but I still enjoy them.
I don’t know where I would be without the pet reviews, and especially the reptile reviews. I discovered your channel back in March 2021 before I had any “exotics” outside of tropical fish. (The tongue-in-cheek review of Blacktip Reef Sharks is what drew me in btw). I spent hours going through the library of videos during a spring break road trip and got my first hognose snake in the fall. Since then, my herp collection has grown with a pink-tongue skink, emerald tree skinks, boa constrictor, woma python, and dart frogs. The vinegaroon, greenbottle blue tarantula, and assassin bug videos also kickstarted a modest collection of invertebrates. There is a slew of “bucket list” reptiles I never would have considered before watching their respective videos. The newer videos, especially the phylogenies, are still some of my favorites to put on while at work. However, the pet reviews are an invaluable resource for hobbyists looking for a starting point in their research. Maybe some pet reviews could be of genuses or subfamilies to avoid redundancy? Please continue making them, even if only on occasion. (PS, still waiting for the woma/blackheaded python review and an amphibian phylogeny!)
I watch all your videos, and I always learn something no matter what type it is. Even though I'm not in a position to have a pet right now I really enjoy the Best Pet ones because it's fun to see you interact with the animals when possible. Your video "Every Species of Alligator, Crocodile, Caiman and Gharial! (If You're Into That Kind of Thing)" autoplayed, and it reminded me that nobody liked my comment on a Jurassic World community post asking "what's your favorite dinosaur?"
I love the pet vids because of how much we can learn about so many animals in a more relatable way than just how they are in the wild (or were in the past). Sad to hear they aren't doing as well.
Please don't stop making these :( these are the videos that got me hooked on the channel! I am not in any position rn to keep a reptile but thanks to these videos I know I wantg to as soon as it's realistic for me to do so, and a cave gecko could be one for me at that point
keeping material like this going is probably even more my motivation behind being an SRF than the trips abroad (not that i'm salty about funding trips abroad; lordy, no)
Your best pet reptile videos are one of the primary reasons I got into reptile keeping! You helped me make an informed decision about what pet reptile was right for me ❤❤
I'm so glad to see this video! I'm in no position to get a cave gecko or really anything right now, but I like seeing the run down of requirements and the different animals (especially reptiles). When I do get to a point where having a reptile is feasible, you can be sure I'll rewatch all of these.
This is actually some of your most entertaining content, so I'm surprised to hear you say that. Years ago the idea of owning a reptile was something I had never considered and now I'm looking at what size enclosures I can fit into my living space. Turns out after a couple hundred snake videos the idea of keeping dead rats in my freezer is growing on me. I still hope you get around to covering Russian rat snakes as an alternative to stuff like NA rat snakes for their hardiness and personality. I've heard a lot of cool stuff about them but not from my favorite voices in the community. They are definitely on my short list of "beginner snakes that actually interest me".
I'm surprised you gave them such a high score! I have had a much harder time keeping cave geckos than any other gecko species... Maybe I'll try again with some new tips I got here. Thank you for still making pet videos!
Really? Were they wild caught, since the chinese cave gecko is sometimes available wild caught? IMO they are easier to care for than leopards since they don't need the heat(in a normal house).
Its really sad to hear that these are the least popular videos on your channel. These videos are the ones that brought me to your channel and are my favorite ones.
Man my favorite episodes are the ones where you bring in an expert guest to talk about the animals. Every expert you've brought on has been so fun and passionate, I watch them all even if I'm not considering that particular animal as a pet simply because it's fun to watch someone passionate talk about the thing they're passionate about. Keep doing what you're doing Brother Clint
I really love these videos that you put out. They really help me with trying to make a decision on a reptile pet to keep that fits my lifestyle. Keep up the awesome work. I love this channel.
Very sad that reptile pet videos aren't doing well. They're my absolute favorite on this channel. I've learned so much and they've been so helpful in me sorting through the mess of info online
My husband and I have been binging your best pet videos while nursing my baby. I have no intention of getting another pet anytime soon, but this is exactly the kind of edutainment we love. Thank you for continuing to make them and thanks to the Patreon community for making it possible.
I have always enjoyed these types of videos, I've watched I think like every single one that you made ever since I discovered this channel. Even if I'm not getting the pet that you're talking about it's still interesting to see
leaving a comment just because of the mention of reptile reviews; As a college student I don't (yet!) have the budget to support any of my favorite channels on patreon, but I've always loved the reptile reviews and hope you keep making them! I feel like you're some of the first content any prospective reptile owner runs into online when doing research, and frankly some of the most insightful, particularly for a complete novice! And I should know, now that my gastros have started laying eggs, somewhere I'd never be if it wasn't for your video on them :).
I’m sorry TH-cam doesn’t promote these types of videos as much…they are my absolute favorite videos of yours and the main reason I watch this channel (and show it to my friends/family). Please continue making them!! Thank you for all you do, Clint!
It's a shame that the pet review videos aren't as popular anymore. I like them a lot, not because I am buying a pet but I find the information useful and the videos are good to share to people who might be looking for a pet.
The best pet videos are my favourite! I don't know why people aren't watching. Thank you for making them for us anyways right now! I would miss these very much
I found this channel due to the pet reviews, I'm sad they aren't getting more views. The videos helped me pick out my first snake, and I couldn't be happier with my ball python. She's totally the best pet reptile, for me. I still like learning about all the other animals out there even if they're not for me, or how crazy a person has to be to own one.
Your reviews are 1. How i first saw you 2. How i fell in love with reptiles 3. How i shared that love with my 2 boys 4. How and why I got all 8 of my reptiles. Even if you do shut it down, i appreciate the knowledge and time with my boys watching. But please don't, and if the next one could be smooth/rough green snakes that'd be awesome! Thanks again Clint
The pet rating videos are my favorite, sad they're not doing as well :( They're what brought me to your channel ages ago, and while I love all your content, they're definitely the ones I get most excited about!
I don't care if you cover pet reptiles or phylogeny, as a Zoology guy, I will watch either. We respect you as a creator and presenter as well Clint, so don't worry, we will stick around as long as you do.
Clint, we definitely want more of this kind of content! As a first grade teacher I use these types of videos to expose my students to different kinds of animals that they probably aren't familiar with, especially since we are in an isolated area, not very close to bigger cities. Keep em coming!
Hi Clint, I’m an Italian follower of your videos and I really love this format. It’s very useful for me because in my country there aren’t a lot of ways to learn more about the care of all species of reptiles (even the most unknown) and anyone makes videos or care guides like these. So thank you for everything you do for improving the general knowledge about reptiles ❤️
Just wanted to say that it was your leopard gecko video that helped me make the plunge to get my little girl and it was one of the best decisions i ever made. Your reptile pet videos really changed my life at a time I really needed it.
Clint, continue to make pet reptile videos. They are awesome and help me chose what reptile is the best for me. I would really like to see a video of if the collared lizard is the best lizard for me!
I much prefer the newer content, but the animal profiles are what got me to subscribe to this channel. Though I don't watch them as much, I think that it makes a lot of sense to keep making them. I imagine they are a boon to those looking into keeping reptiles as pets, so please keep making them! It's a good thing you are doing.
Your pet review videos, especially the reptile ones, are an invaluable resource for budding hobbyist/reptile pet owners. Thank you for making them and I truly believe these videos have helped pet owners make better pet choices and lead to better care for those pets, too.
I adore all of them so much 💕 ps, I absolutely love these pet videos and I'm sorry to hear they don't do as well as the other verities. I started watching them years ago and they are so stinking rad :3
This is one of the best contents when it comes to reptiles, people are too lazy to do the research so this is a great help, your videos are appreciated
I am always looking forward for the new pet review video. You give off the best info out of everyone online. I always come to see your videos to see if a certain exotic pet is for me or no.
Pet reviews are my favorite videos from your channel, and I rewatch them... Something wrong with me, I'm sure. Quick everybody, come rewatch them with me.
The “best pet” videos are one of the single most important resources on the internet for people wanting to become pet owners or want to extend their pet family IMO. It’s this and Reptifiles hands-down. Please continue to make “best pet” videos. They’re essential for those of us who need guidance in deciding on a new pet. They have been SO helpful to me. In the past year I’ve been researching animals I might want to keep. This channel has kept me from just jumping into something impulsively. I always consult Clint’s videos, sometimes multiple times. You guys started this channel with the mission to help make sure people don’t end up with the wrong pet for them, with the animal possibly ending up in a bad situation. Please never stop making the “best pet” videos for the sake of the people who need the information and for the sake of the animals. I had to cancel all of my Patreon subscriptions for current financial reasons, but I promise I’ll be back to being a Super Rad Fan in the future.
The Best Pet videos are the reason I subscribed to this channel, and are basically the only reason I'm still subscribed. It's just fascinating to meet a cool reptile, or amphibian, or some other cool creature and learn what goes into captive care of said animal even if it's one that isn't right for the majority of people. And it's a massive help for my own daydreams about one day keeping a reptile of my own. Considering they were here from the very beginning of the channel, it's a little baffling and definitely pretty disappointing to hear they're now the least well performing videos, and it'd be sad if you stopped making them.
I’m massively into the herp hobby. I will always watch the pet videos. I have so many reptiles that you helped me decide to get. Especially my super dwarf retic from Garrett and my Central American boa. Two of my absolute FAVORITES. Thank you for doing what you do, Clint!
That's really sad tbh. These videos are how I found your channel in the first place. I'm a writer, and I like to write my character's having pets, so I do research before I write anything and your videos are informative and helpful. I've got a few saved for readily available information. I wish I could support you on patreon, but instead because I am on disability and money is always tight, I will make sure to watch every single one of these, even when it's not a species I'm interested in.
I absolutely love being introduced to new reptiles in the trade, and new aspects of reptiles I’d already heard of! Everything banded-gecko-shaped gets a very biased 500/5 from me.
I really want to see more of these videos! I used to be scared of snakes, lizards and tarantulas. Watching these videos has allowed me to overcome that as i now find them amazing and fascinating. Please keep making them!
I'm so excited to see you covering cave geckos. I'm currently building a bioactive enclosures for a cave gecko and your video just reaffirms they are the right pet reptile for me
Pet species that Clint’s “is this the right pet for you format” has helped convince me to keep: Brazilian Rainbow Boa Black African House Snake Thai Bamboo Rat Snake Green Anole Emerald Tree Boa That’s more than half of my animals. Thanks for the work you put in, Clint and all the team. I’ll have to look into upping my patreon sub.
I’ve been toying with the idea of becoming a patron on your Patreon for a while now, and this finally convinced me. I love these videos! And while I also enjoy all of your videos, these are my favorite by a long shot.

Please continue to make Pet Review content. This videos are how I was introduced to you and I absolutely LOOOVE them. I’ve learned about so many animals and their care from the review videos, even “ordinary house pets”. These are a staple ingredient to my learning.
Me too! Great way to expose more people to underrated species like these
Right! I love them because they remind me of the animal shows I used to watch on pbs and would run to watch
I hear so many stories of people getting reptiles as pets without understanding if it's the right pet for them,
As I know some who run a rescue centre, and every year people hand in things like small snakes/lizards because they find out they didn't understand the care.
@@wraith1320 not say it happened the most,
Just very comon,
Dogs and cats ect are still the most common pet,
As I know someone who run exotic animal rescue centre here in Scotland, the amount he gets per year, more so within 3 months at the start of year for the size of Scotland is shocking.
I’ve always thought of cave geckos as the leopard gecko’s goth cousin. Nocturnal and wears black, I love them!
Leopard geckos are nocturnal too tho I thought? Cuz they have the slit pupils
Pleeeease keep making pet reviews! They're so important and useful, I rely on them!
Me too!
I wondered why we were seeing less reptile rating videos…
Yeah, I honestly miss em
I hope that Best Pet videos become more profitable for you again. I'll watch anything you put out, but they're the reason I subscribed. I'm not the sort to keep pets, but I still enjoy them.
I love reptile pet review videos! You’ve changed my entire perception of reptiles. I’ve watched all the videos, most of them several times
I love the pet review videos, honestly it feels more like a biology lesson for each animal and helps me learn things I didn't know
I don’t know where I would be without the pet reviews, and especially the reptile reviews.
I am not in any position rn to keep a reptile but thanks to these videos I know I wantg to as soon as it's realistic for me to do so, and a cave gecko could be one for me at that point
keeping material like this going is probably even more my motivation behind being an SRF than the trips abroad
(not that i'm salty about funding trips abroad; lordy, no)
Your best pet reptile videos are one of the primary reasons I got into reptile keeping! You helped me make an informed decision about what pet reptile was right for me ❤❤
Please don’t stop making these care guides! They’re an invaluable source of helpful information! ❤
I'm so glad to see this video! I'm in no position to get a cave gecko or really anything right now, but I like seeing the run down of requirements and the different animals (especially reptiles). When I do get to a point where having a reptile is feasible, you can be sure I'll rewatch all of these.
100% agree, this comment says exactly what I feel aswell, simply adding my own to bump that algorithm!
My family has an African Fat Tail. We love her! Commenting to boost engagement.
Responding to boost engagement!
They are the ones that brought me here, too!
I have been waiting for these to come back! ❤
The reptile pet review videos are why I subscribed. My favorite.
I remember you saying these videos don't perform as well but this is what I'm here for. Was super excited to see this notification this morning 👍
These kinds of videos are seriously your *least* popular?? WHAT?? These are my *favorite* videos you make!!!
Even if I'm not getting the pet that you're talking about it's still interesting to see
Even if the pet review videos aren’t doing that well, there are plenty of us still out there that love these videos. Keep up the good work!
leaving a comment just because of the mention of reptile reviews; As a college student I don't (yet!) have the budget to support any of my favorite channels on patreon, but I've always loved the reptile reviews and hope you keep making them! I feel like you're some of the first content any prospective reptile owner runs into online when doing research, and frankly some of the most insightful, particularly for a complete novice! And I should know, now that my gastros have started laying eggs, somewhere I'd never be if it wasn't for your video on them :).
My favorite thing about Clint's Reptiles is the best pet videos!
"Even more beautiful than their cousins..." Gecko turns away modestly.
The best pet videos are my favourite! I don't know why people aren't watching. Thank you for making them for us anyways right now! I would miss these very much
Your service to the reptile community is very valuable and I wish to encourage it but feeding the algorithm
I Love watching your videos on best pet pets! I'm interested in the care of all species!
I hope you continue to Post them.
From Susan in Michigan ❤
I'm not a reptile person, but you made me reconsider for a few minutes.
PLEASE keep making pet reptile reviews. You’re one of the few sources I trust
Your reviews are
1. How i first saw you
2. How i fell in love with reptiles
3. How i shared that love with my 2 boys
4. How and why I got all 8 of my reptiles.
Even if you do shut it down, i appreciate the knowledge and time with my boys watching. But please don't, and if the next one could be smooth/rough green snakes that'd be awesome! Thanks again Clint
I can't beleive the Pet animal rating videos are not more popular, I really enjoy them and are a reason I joined the channel! I really love them 💕
The pet rating videos are my favorite, sad they're not doing as well :( They're what brought me to your channel ages ago, and while I love all your content, they're definitely the ones I get most excited about!
I look forward to reptile pet reviews more than any other videos!
Just wanted to say that it was your leopard gecko video that helped me make the plunge to get my little girl and it was one of the best decisions i ever made. Your reptile pet videos really changed my life at a time I really needed it.
5:51 I appreciate your guest and the gecko crawling from right hand to left helping us to choose the right food for cave geckos.
WHAT? The pet reviews are my favourite. I'm so glad you do them and expose me to all these awesome animals
Pet reviews are the videos that introduced me to the channel and typically the ones I watch the most often.
9:43 which videos are doing better because these are the only kind i personally like.
These kinds of videos are my favorite videos on your channel 🥺❤️ I hope to see them continue strong
I adore all of them so much 💕 ps, I absolutely love these pet videos and I'm sorry to hear they don't do as well as the other verities. I started watching them years ago and they are so stinking rad :3
Continue with the rating videos! They're very helpful.
This is one of the best contents when it comes to reptiles, people are too lazy to do the research so this is a great help, your videos are appreciated
I am always looking forward for the new pet review video. You give off the best info out of everyone online. I always come to see your videos to see if a certain exotic pet is for me or no.
I live pet reviews, my favorite video of yours is the black rat snake video
It's so strange to me that my favorite type of your videos are so unpopular that they're barely worth making. They're great.
Pet reviews are my favorite videos from your channel, and I rewatch them... Something wrong with me, I'm sure.
Quick everybody, come rewatch them with me.
These are my favorites. They're what brought me to this channel in the first place.
These have always been my favorite of your content. Please keep them coming! I got a dumerils boa based on your videos! Great snake.
Absolutely continue the best pet reptile series that’s what got this channel going!!!
Please keep the pet videos... I love them so much and they've helped me pick out each reptile in my collection
Clint please make more of these I love them . Your reptile videos have been so instrumental to my education as a reptile keeper.
I can't believe these vids don't do well! I love them so much and I think it's so important to have good care guides!
The pet reviews are my favorite part of this channel.
These are the best videos. Please keep making them!
You make these, I'll watch them! THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO!
I wondered why the pet review videos slowed down. I’m here for all of it, but I definitely stay for pet reviews!
I love all your work, but this is the stuff that got me hooked, and it's always my favourite
I'm so excited to see you covering cave geckos. I'm currently building a bioactive enclosures for a cave gecko and your video just reaffirms they are the right pet reptile for me
I throughly enjoy these types of videos. Please keep making them.
Pet species that Clint’s “is this the right pet for you format” has helped convince me to keep:
Brazilian Rainbow Boa
Black African House Snake
Thai Bamboo Rat Snake
Green Anole
Emerald Tree Boa
That’s more than half of my animals.
