Ms Keppel is more interesting to watch as time goes by, I think because she keeps her feelings private, and yet we can guess that her interest in winning is completely sincere. She persevered to get on this show, in her own work, and in her family it seems. So not surprising that such an interesting person is more enjoyable to watch the fourth time. And Chris Tarant clearly 'gets' her integrity. (One can imagine that the gardens which she designed for a living were excellent too. J.
I was interested in how none of the popular culture questions had arrived in the show at this time. After this, they tried more ‘egalitarian’ questions -sitcoms, Coronation street, obscure bands which certain people wouldn’t know.
Love the jib move and lighting work for the closing shot. I’m almost glad they couldn’t pop the confetti for her win and had to do it at the end of the episode - it almost feels more triumphant.
The initial audible gasp from the Audience at 18:06, then again at 19:51 when she wants to go for Henry II still gives me goosebumps! Thanks for uploading this classic moment of TV history. Was big news at the time, but unlike Limitless Win tonight (13th January, 2024) where £1 Million was given away, it was the days before Social Media and the news being leaked - made the news even more of a surprise to look forward to watching. Thanks so much for uploading this James! 😊
Even with her vast knowledge there's still a lot of luck involved in this show. If she'd used her phone a friend prior to the Shakespeare question, she wouldn't have made it and would have had to stop there.
It really isn’t like Ingram. There may’ve been coughs as pointed out by Ingram’s barrister, but Judith knew with certainty from the _beginning_ of each question…. She stuck to that & it’s more logical. She could deduce WHY the answer was correct, as well, & Ingram never did.
Yes he did. He read a book about Jacqueline Kennedy, he knew an Anthony Eden was a tall hat, he'd eaten ementhal on several occasions and it had "Swiss made" written on it etc. You've just been brainwashed by the media like every other npc.
That’s what he paid to do lol and plus it was the first million pound winner so expect that from any host you should see what the Chinese one are like then
I know. You really can’t say there are no coughs with this woman, in particular, but I think it was how certain she was in her answers and how obviously joyful she was in winning. Different altogether to Ingram.
21:23 *CHRIS TARRANT: YOU JUST WON ONE MILLION POUNDS!* *RYDER: CONGRATULATIONS, MA'AM!* *RYDER ZACHARY: ⭐ (CORRECT!)* *Ryder and his 14 partners were down to the stage to celebrating UK'S First millionaire*

She did a great job
Thank goodness i found this in time for the 20th anniversary of this episode!
Love the jib move and lighting work for the closing shot. I’m almost glad they couldn’t pop the confetti for her win and had to do it at the end of the episode - it almost feels more triumphant.
I wondered where the confetti went

There is no way they go to a commercial if she's wrong.
Sometimes, they did. But it wasn't the million pound question.
What a historical moment & episode!
Remember watching this live… years have gone way too quick..
21:23 "You've just won ONE MILLION POUNDS!"
You are Amazing! I can’t believe it. One Million Pounds!
Woooooooo! She did GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!
Now for all of you who is lucky enough to have a DVD version, Here’s a fuller look of A Road to Million Pounds.
Even with her vast knowledge there's still a lot of luck involved in this show. If she'd used her phone a friend prior to the Shakespeare question, she wouldn't have made it and would have had to stop there.
This is the better version of her second half, as the the DVD version uploaded is cropped
Jeff Gross from Surrey was also there for Charles Ingram’s “win”. 25:05
And he would later win $500,000 on the US syndicated version in 2004.
Judith Keppel (MILYONARYO)
The part where they said OH BLESS YOU!! At 0:11

This was my 3rd birthday lol.
Must have been an amazing birthday present huh?

Really annoying when Chris tries to drag out answers for suspense when she’s clearly very confident
That’s what he paid to do lol and plus it was the first million pound winner so expect that from any host you should see what the Chinese one are like then
The Australian version is probably the longest you'd ever see

After Norm Macdonald won half million dollars in US version of Millionaire.
Sadly while all this was going on, Victor was killed in a hit and run.
Who
I think Francis is referring to the show One Foot in the Grave.
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire si Joshua Dionisio
Does anybody know how the guy after Judith ended up?
Just like Princess Diana
Her ancestry includes Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine.
21:26 Judith Keppel she only person she won £1 million pounds

It always is. With every player.

shame no confetti
I didn’t like how Chris Tarantino kept making fun of the posh women by mocking their accents and words
He is British as well so not really mocking or intent to offend
No
I’d rather see a working class person win, not a snooty posh bird
Fuck up, she deserved that. She was as kind as can be and transparently nice person.
Just because your jealous coz it’s not you winning one million lmfao
