- Marble Race: Marble League 2022 Friendly Round | Jelle's Marble Runs
This time we return to The Pond for the friendly round! The qualifiers are done and dusted, we know who's going to the main league and who's going to the Showdown! But are not ready yet, as we need to see what the auto-qualified teams can do in this friendly round!
No actual prize for the winners here, rather to show their capabilities, strength and basically show off to their fans!
There is more! ML22 Showdown will feature 16 teams in stead of 12, and we added the brand new team "Wolfpack", brought back "Team Plasma" and the "Black Jacks", and a first appearance for the "Purple Rockets"! These four expansion teams will go straight to showdown, no qualifiers for them, but there will be a Showdown practice for them, get to know the events, and compete on equal terms with the rest of the field!

I mean yeah 'friendlies'. As if these marbles aren't taking this event very seriously. They'll want to dominate these events and get some momentum ahead of the opening for sure!

@@DelthinTheRanger I'm sure the coaches might like that, but try and not give it your all when you've got 10,000 screaming marbles cheering you on. Also professional sport is all about building momentum, marble league is no different. They'll be out to win for sure!

As far as I remember, these results never really translated into the main event.
Somewhat of a worrying outing for the Raspberry Racers but it is just a friendly, you’ve got to trust that they known what they’re doing

I remember watching the first Marblelympics way back. The timing of me finding this channel again couldnt be better. Watched the last Marble League and was sad that the Wisps werent anywhere to be found. Now they are coming back to redeem themselves

Besides hurdles which the showdown marbles dominated at, you can tell the skill and preparation differences between marble league and showdown marbles. It takes a lot of skill and effort to make the marble league and this just proves it! #RaiseTheBar 🍫

I mean Team Plasma has been around for years they used to be a regular competitor.
The balancing event says it all. No team cracked 300, meanwhile the green ducks break 400? Plasma better humble up real quick
Purple Rockets had the third best time, really nice. only beaten by Minty Maniacs and Pinkies in the qualifying. Funnily the Pinkies also are the only ones to beat the Green Ducks in balancing. Really good performance from the Pinkies!
Friendly triathlon times are ludicrous, the Gliding Glaciers came in third and still beat any team of qualifying and showdown!
exaxtly. last year i belive? the raspberry racers dominated the hurdles, but this year they fell so far behind. and the same with the 1st event as well. :(

I may have been wrong
I was sad to see how my Hazers wound up in the qualifiers, but glad to see the Purple Rockets back and the names of the Wolfpack are making me very sentimental. While I'll miss some of my classic favorites this year, I'm excited to see these new teams get to come play!
(Also, yay for a great opening from the Green Ducks! Crazy Cats Eyes beat the host curse and so can you!)

I also like that idea I guess it is to give the 4 pre-qualified Showdown teams a chance of competing in the 4 ML qualifiers events as well, also I believe Green Ducks chant is being updated.

Yellup just hasn't been the same after the fall in S2Q4 of Marbula 1.
The kid has a ton of heart though, there is no denying that.
There's so many teams now, that for next year perhaps you could consider:
Removing the classification system & showdown and instead doing two shorter leagues, for two separate divisions A and B decided at an initial random draw, that would award two titles of Division Champions
And after that there would be a second phase, where 8 teams (top 4 of each division) would compete in a much shorter league for the title of Mega Champions of that year

Okay on the Qualifiers I said since Momo didn't make it I was gonna root for the honorary Momo's Team Primary, but I changed my mind. Host curse be damned let's go Green Ducks!

I've been a Team Momo fan since the first MarbleLympics, but the only other time Momo didn't qualify, I found myself on the Green Ducks bandwagon. The way I was pulling for the Ducks watching this, it looks like they're solidified as my #2 team. GO DUCKS!

Sprint events have never been the Ducks' strongest suit, but this was a great overall showing. Need a shout out to the Racers for the exquisite streamlining in the balancing though.

Glad to see a friendly match between some excellent teams, and the new teams of course. Especially excited to see the Glaciers holding onto a steady performance, though I hope they shake off some of the nerves and really pay attention to their endurance this year. #GlidetoGlory

The gliding glaciers go from getting last in the qualifiers for like 4 years to getting top 4 in 2021, it’s CRAZY!

They just haven't recovered since momomomos injury. Sad. Once a great team is cursed now.
The showdown practice results show, that there is still a big gap to reach the top teams. They need to train hard, if they want to make it into ML 23
My guess is that the O'rangers will be the hosts in 2023.

Not a great first showing for the Wolfpack, but I know their coach is running some experimental tactics right now. They’ll get a good system figured out soon.
These are the friendly matches, but I think the refs need to investigate the purple rockets balancing run. The way the 4th marble managed to correct itself was incredible...too incredible don't you think? Look at the long arcing motion, these rockets better play fair!!

A funnel endurance marble in a speed event you don't wanna see it. But still great job Ducky!
Billy is the first one to fall as always, great job Ducky passing 100 and of course the captain and our best ML player Quacky making it in the catch basin.
As always still one of the best in league or atleast in Triathlon our Captain Mallard, if not for that sideways part there at the water portion our Captain could've easily passed Mellow Yellow.
