- Marble Race: Marble League 2023 Event 15: Sand Rally 🐝 Jelle's Marble Runs
16 individual marbles will chase down each other on a long sand course, the fastest marble athlete will win!
NOTE: This event has 2 runs where the fastest time counts. Due to strong wind, the race length is shorter than usual, so we decided to do 2 runs. We decided not to do 2 runs with 8 marbles and a final because of high DNF risk due to dry sand to give all marbles 2 runs.

and at the back for the final race - which is Marbula One...
You'll notice how often you hear the Raspberry fight song early on, and then everyone decides to just be quiet

I feel I have been way too emotionally invested in this whole thing while rooting for the CCE this season.
I didn't believe I'd be saying this 1 event ago, but we can still win the league! And it's not that unlikely, we just have to win from pole (which Red Eye, who for the love of god I hope is the chosen for the GP, has done several times) and hope the Speeders finish on the lower half of the table, knowing that even though they are very good at M1, they'll be starting far behind in the grid. And podium is definitely reachable. C'mon Cats!!! #eyesontheprize

If CCE win it will make for a fantastic Marble League story. They start off hot, then have a lot of disappointment in the middle stretch only to go hot at the end for a miracle comeback.
I'm so proud of them. I was so happy right at the start but then got very disappointed in them but now I'm happier than I have ever been for them.

It helps that the last events are their strongest events - giving them plenty of opportunity to catch up. They were probably banking on Red Eye carrying them through the race events, and now that they've got pole for the last race, they've got a good shot.

True, as a Cats fan after they dropped to 11th I was just thinking: "Couldn't you at least stay in the top places and don't ruin your great performance this way, even if it isn't for the win in the end?"
So glad they clawed their way back up. And given they are one of the top teams from Marbula One, they have a very real chance for another success in the last event, which would mean a very high finish in the league. Only problem with the fight for the win of the Marble league and a spectacular comeback story is that the Speeders still hold a big lead before the last event and would need to place very low in the last event, even if we were to win it. And even with them starting way down the order, they are also still one of the teams when it comes to racing.
We will see how it will come to pass, but at the very least I have high hopes for a great last event and a podium finish in the league, whichever place it will be exactly - and for that alone I am already very happy. :)
There needs to be a Marble League Hall of Fame for retired marbles -- Red Eye can be the first to join. Holy cow what a race!

Seeing yet another really successful years for Pinkies is making me really elated. They've been a team that had really unfortunate stretch of seasons, but they have come to form and are competing on a stronger level and I feel like the motivation is there.

2nd position for the final event gives me a lot of hope. I never counted them out, not even when they failed to qualify a few years ago. I will never count them out

Strange choice. They still have a healthy championship lead, but whizzy really looked at sea and now they’re going to start from the back at the finale.
I'm just glad we finally got a gold medal last event. After hovering around the top three all season, it was getting pretty embarrassing that we weren't able to get one for so long.

Been rooting for the CCE they had a long slump but they are making it interesting going into the final race.

Long races have always been the Cats' and especially Red Eye's forte, so I expect he'll place well in the next race. Probably a good shot at the Podium, but I doubt we're getting championship unless the Speeders have an abysmal race next week

Also, there needs to be a minimum weight or max smoothness check on the Crazy Cats Eyes. They seem to have a clear and somewhat unfair advantage in every race.
I think we should have weight and size stats on all contestants. Snowballs always look huge out there but you know what happens to snowballs when they roll downhill…
If they put in the time and effort to train their body to that legally, then I think we should be good. Then again, if they were to be using performance enhancers, that would be a vastly different story

As much as I would love for Crazy Cat's Eyes to win the championship, I'd probably be even more hyped if it went to Rojo Rollers. Imagine the underdog story that would be!

We started out great in race 2, but slammed a rock.
Momomo was doing so good in the second run and then they just… disappeared. What a rough go
After the DNF in the first run, I'd have thought Momomo would have placed a priority on completing the course on the second. Maybe he was unfamiliar with the lower part of the run since he was on that portion for the first time, but he was too reckless in my opinion.
I had believed history wasn't in their favor and I was right.
Huge, HUGE shout outs to Pinkies getting a DNF but then pulling together an incredible 2nd place time. It's not been common for them to perform well in races, especially in comparison to CCE, but we can ABSOLUTELY DO IT. All it takes is one good run and Pinkies can win their second ever Marble League, and win twice in a row, or at the very least they can medal. They can do it. #pinkypower

Events like this are unfortunate because it shows that the minute differences in the marbles’ weights fully matters.

Was it just me or were other teams working together to cut the Savage Speeders off right at the beginning? Both races begun with Whizzy's momentum being completely halted by other marbles and in a event like this where it is naturally hard to catch up to the front pack I wouldn't be surprised if it was planned... Regardless I am rooting for them to hold the lead in the finals!
Starry needs to be TGL captain. Carried the team throughout most events and M1 if she becomes captain we will beome the team to beat #reachforthestars

This was the opportunity for the bumblebees to really close the gap to the savage speeders but know Pinkies of CCE are in a better position to challenge for the title
How do you figure? Bumblebees are still closest in score to speeders and while we are lower in the lineup for the next event; we still have prty good chances if our bees can perform their best... Esp as the speeders may as wellve gotten last place
Like, its entirely possible that Bumblebees cud get bronze and still beat the speeders for the championship; ofc thats if and only if the speeders do place dead last, but obvs a silver or gold score makes it so theres five more spots each where the speeders can end up in the rankings and still lose to our bees

Savage speeders really looking to choke that lead I see. They are still 1st in the leaderboard with a huge point lead, so I have hope in them for the finals.
I was worried.
Especially after the O'Rangers forced Swifty off the track, but got no punishment for causing the DNF. I'm looking for the Speeders to close it out in the Grand Prix.
The Speeders are still at the top of the leaderboard. Can we stay there for one last time and give it all we've got in the GP? We oughta find out!
Well the Savage Speeders won the honey dome Grand Prix during Marbula one season 2 I hope speedy can do this again

What a race, and what a deceptive track! Glad Cat's Eyes is back in the running (great job to Red Eye, you could feel the determination they carried throughout the track!), but my main team Momo just got lost in the shuffle right as they were starting to come back. Just goes to show how close the League can really be, always keeps us on our toes! It's been a good run, Momo. Yall won gold in all your fans' hearts.

the pinkies . Caught in the slow corner race 1 and charged from the back group in race 2 with a flawless second half. Never really strong in GP events so P2 starting position is huge for them. Really hoping they can land on the final podium and stoked they have a shot at going back-to-back.
extremely disappointed that the raspberry racers just lost basically any chance at a good final result this season. but two DNFs should not have happened, something must be wrong with the track! i also sincerely hope that next year the starting positions for e16 are not decided like this, it completely screws with the independence of the events!

Agree that the track was an issue. When there are 5 DNFs, that's an issue with track design or maintenance. Also agree that the 16 events should be independent of each other. Having the result of one event put you at the rear of the next one is, at face value, quite unfair. Should place the marbles via time trials as in Marbula1. Sorry about the Raspberries; my O'rangers just had an off day.

Very sad in the savage speeder's performance (RITUAL SACRIFICE!) but this has been the BEST Marble League season so far! I can't believe we got to even 15 with 11 elgible teams, and that we're going into the final event with 5 contenders! What a wild finish!

Well, I didn't expect *great* things from Team Momo here, but DNFing twice was lower than my lowest expectations. Dropping to tenth place overall is *painful* :c
I'm not sure how well Honeydome will go for Momo, but they are capable of climbing and have been very decent there in the past, so I have some hope. The Razzies on the other hand...
Congrats to Red Eye (ugh-really! I think they might now have the best chance of beating the Speeders, though), Pinkies, and Snowballs on the podium!
I think it was a tremendous effort! The first run was going good enough until he tripped up. But damn, did you see the eagerness in the second run? Early lead absolutely stumbled because of a loos rock on track. And then fighting all the way to second again, but sadly, to focused on overtaking, so didn't brake enough for the corner and sadly DNFd.
Also of note. DNF 1 on both runs.
Very frustrating performance from Momomo. I'd have thought that he'd be very careful not to DNF again after the DNF in the first race.

I think Momo needs to send out a memo that their #2 for marbula one is Mo because i think all the other Mos this far have had it rough from DNFs to just lack luster performances in individual events (I kno RNG).

This was a very disappointing event, I must say. Not only is it not cool for this event to affect the next event, but the number of DNFs was far too high in my opinion.
Totally agree. The fact that over a quarter DNFed in the first run, and they didn't rethink the track is pretty unimpressive
Can I question the fairness of the positions for the final event being based off of the results of this event? CCE have a HUGE advantage now, as winning this event makes them far more likely to win the next one. You could have so easily just had qualifying, which would have been completely fair. But no. There seems to be no logical reasoning for this at all. Why must you ruin the climax of what has been an amazing season?

It's better than how they originally did it. They used to place them by position but backwards. First place starts in last and last starts in first. So this is a HUGE improvement so don't be upset about it too much

@@Hibenribey JMR avoids long videos for some reason. And the final video will already be long because of the medal ceremony.

Unbelievable what the Pinkies have done and achieved. I still remember the painful events where we finished dead last and had no hope of medals or anything else.
But what they’ve achieved so far is just incredible. Proud to be a Pinkie!
