      @@Askdoudou Is a 24" 2014 Apple Cinema Display worth getting in 2021?

    Hey, wondering if you can help. I just bought a display like this and plugged it straight into my 2015 MacBook pro retina. It feels a bit too low resolution to me (using it for graphic design/photography), could I have set it up wrong or do I need an adaptor? Or am I just being picky because I’m used to the MacBook’s retina display?

    • @Askdoudou
      @Askdoudou  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, well the best way to find out is by selecting a display colour profile (system preferences - Displays - Colour). Then you can Calibrate it accordingly. Of course you won’t reach the same Retina resolution but something almost near.

      Very good question, I haven't myself thought about the MacBook 12inch. Unfortunately If you want to connect an extra Display with your MacBook 12in, you definitely must use an External USB-C Hub (we should blame #Apple for this, not have at least 2 ports)

      USB C Adapters for MacBook Air with 2 extra type C ports: amzn.to/3pVtUH3
      HyperDrive Mac USB C Hub Adapter with 2 extra type C ports: amzn.to/3fvu9Up

      I have been using Zoom and other online conferences quite a-lot this year and haven’t faced any such problem. Tell me, have you checked from Sound preference which Output source you are using ? Then you can run a sound test to make sure the display is picking up the sound. Otherwise the cable wont be the problem unless its broken or frayed.

      Hey doudou
      I have a 2023 MacBook Air 15” M2 and my Thunderbolt Display only works with my old 2012 MacBook Air

      @@Askdoudou Wow! You're fast! You have to go through the setting menu? So it doesn't work from the keyboard ? Does it follow the automatic brightness adjustment of the main screen when it's set? Thanks

      From the keyboard it control the main display. So if you chose your mac as second display and main working screen is your display then you can adjust it from keyboard. Otherwise the keyboard only communicate with your mac. The same goes with the sound.

    Is it possible to connect my IPad Pro 2020 to this cinema display ?

    • @Askdoudou
      @Askdoudou  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes this will work with your iPad following the same steps and using same adapters. Apple’s Cinema Display 24inch uses Mini DisplayPort. So to. Connect this with your iPad you will need a USB-C to Mini DisplayPort adapter. amzn.to/3o7OJ0E
      This way you will mirror whatever you see on your iPad onto the your display. Let me know if you get it work 😇

      @@Askdoudou is this process the same with every cinema display ?

      Same process but each display requires its own special adapters

    If you got the latest M1 models 👌👌, I would recommend this adapter: *USB Type-C to Mini DisplayPort UPTab* 👉 amzn.to/3qdAK9U
    Otherwise, you can check ICY BOX IB-AD550-C by RaidSonic 👉 amzn.to/2OWDhEY

      Does a Thunderbolt Display work with M1 models?

      Thank you for this recommendation! The Power Delivery feature of the UpTab mini-DisplayPort adapter is a big plus with my new M1 MacBook Pro.
