    I have used Avios to book flights to Europe on BA with terrible points per mile. Will try booking on AA, following your rec.

      Oof British Airways to Europe is pretty rough because of those taxes and fees! Although there is a sweet spot if you can book Iberia airlines and avoid London.

      Partyyyyyyy, the bigger number of seats I’ve seen open on a BA award flight is about 7, so you may be able to all hop on a flight for cheap if need be, depending on how big the party is!

    Hello! Loved the video. Helped me narrow down my next flight. One question when you book an AA flights through BA (economy), are you able to select your seat for free or for a fee? Just curious before I book the actual flight I was able to find!

    • @NurseMichaelTravels
      @NurseMichaelTravels  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes you should be able to pick your seats. When you book it look for your AA flight reference number and plug that in to American Airlines' website and it should pull up the flight and let you choose your seat.

    With booking using AAdvantage miles, that route on those dates costs as little as 7K per way (w/ stop) but more miles (15K) if you want nonstop. I personally prefer more segments because I film flight experience videos for my TH-cam channel, but for people who prefer nonstop they can book the 7K w/ stop and then at check-in, just ask to be on standby for the nonstop which is currently free on AA.

      Great tip Red! I always forget to consider Standby options honestly, I've never used them.
      I do love AA as a program, they have a bunch of great allowances like the one you shared and the relatively regular cheap 7k fare!

    there's an AA flight to Tulum, however, British Airways doesn't allow for flight search to that airport? are all AA flights supposed to be available on British?

    • @NurseMichaelTravels
      @NurseMichaelTravels  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Unfortunately not all AA flights are available on British Airways. What kind of points do you have? I like to use Points Yeah nowadays to search for award flights (link below for video I made about it) they don’t search on British Airways, but they do search Iberia.

      I've searched the two biggest hubs in the U.S. for AA and it says no flights no matter what month. What am I doing wrong?

  • @MikeyPrice

    Does this work with premium economy?

    • @NurseMichaelTravels
      @NurseMichaelTravels  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So it looks like you aren't able to book premium economy tickets on American Airlines flights via British Airways Avios outright.
      But you can book a flight in economy and typically you should be able to pay for a better seat via the American Airlines app, or sometimes you might be able to upgrade your seat with British Airways after booking.

      @@NurseMichaelTravels Thanks I appreciate the reply I'll probably end up doing it like that. For some reason I'm not seeing American airlines on my British airways booking page just strictly Qatar which is weird because there's tons of flights with American from there so I'm sure at least a couple should be available for booking points.

    Why not book directly with quantas? As of today at least it seems to be cheaper there instead of BA.

    • @NurseMichaelTravels
      @NurseMichaelTravels  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great question, booking with Qantas is definitely a viable option now. This video was made prior to the British Airways Devaluation so it wasn’t typically the best deal at that time. But now, if Qantas charges less and you’re using AMEX, Capital One, or Citi points which transfer to them, then Qantas it is!
