I live in GA and went to the art museum when they had the Andy Warhol stuff, it was all interesting but to me the real art and beauty was with the oil paintings. Right now they have Monet which to me is a priceless piece because it is a 1 of 1, but if one printed it I would see no value in the print other than having a nice print to look at which to me is worth a few dollars. Then you could have an oil painter who does their own work and even though its a 1 of 1 I wouldnt pay the materials it cost to create because to me it has no value, its all individualized to a point In my mind. I would enjoy a paintings video

Seems simple to me. If you can afford to buy sealed when it comes out, buy it to the enjoy the cards. Whether that is enjoyment from using them or collecting them because you like the artwork. Don't spend more than you should on trading cards, don't treat it as a financial investment. Going back to what you said about sealed Rudy, if I ever were to buy more boxes than I need it'd be to re-experience the feeling of opening the packs or simply giving the box away to kids so they can see for themselves what card games I liked in the past.

You don't have to wait for reprint but if a $20 card shows up in a commander precon and drops it down to like $3.50 maybe consider adding it to your collection if you have a deck that could immediately use it.

The bottom line is that Wizards / Hasbro doesnt want to leave anything on the table value wise. Looks good on paper, but what they are missing is that people expect to maintain some value. When this mechinism is circumvented with constant reprints... some of the customers say I'M OUT, this isnt the only game in town.
I'm looking elsewhere, and taking the risky yet profitable move of buying into the FFTCG resurgence. They just announced their first reprint set and I'm ready to go all in. I know it's speculative, but my own results are already positive. That and the fact it plays like MTG on speed and there's a MTG UB set coming up, it'll bring much needed visibility to the game which is about all it's lacking at the moment.
