He wrote the music for many classic Hollywood films: High Noon, The Alamo, Dial M For Murder, The Guns of Navarone, Lost Horizon, Mr. Smith Goes To Washington, The Old Man and the Sea, and a bunch more.
Ned Washington wrote the lyrics.

Absolutely the best! I'm 62 yrs young,grew up with Gene& Roy,I even got to meet Roy jr. Dusty Rogers nicest man on the planet! But I am also a BIG fan of these guys! I have an autographed "Salute to Roy Rogers " Poster of theirs & a cactie tie,I bought from TooSlim himself!

Sad thing about this song .... first time I heard it was in "The Blues Brothers" ..... and I grew up watching westerns but I had never heard of this series .
