Allhamdu-lillah for your tips and guidance to memorizing the Qur'an.
I am a grand mother in my mid sixties and have been longing to memorize certain surahs such as Mulk, Khaf, etc.
So that I can recite at the times according to the Sunnah.
I listen to Hafiz Sajjad Gul lessons on proper pronunciation.
In-sha-allaah I am hoping to embark on this journey.
May Almighty Allaah continue to bless your parents and you for these tips.
Aaameen 🤲👍
What ever you do. Do not stop regular memoriseing in the mornings.
Memorize, understand, act upon, reflect, and convey the Quran to others. It will protect you on the day of judgement Inshallah❤️
Something I have found very useful is reading quran every day. I started this habit Alhamdulillah in class 11, 6 years ago. Alhamdulillah now I feel very familiar with the quran and memorization by the blessing of Allah swt has become easy.
May Allah open our hearts to understand the meaning of the Noble Quran and the Salaath !!!

It's too hard for me. I have memorized the whole quran and then forgotten it. I have started again and I am on juz 8. I feel like I am already forgetting it. If Allah chooses who should be a hafiz, surely this means not everyone can do it. I will not give up but I just feel so stupid. I have spent 18 years trying to become a hafiz. Anyway make dua
You have got this! may Allah make it easy for you and bless you with the station of a Hafiz again and make your journey in retaining it is easy for you too :) Ameen
you're not alone in this. It's a life journey. Just keep your intentions pure and keep striving towards memorizing quran with the understanding. I'm in the same boat but it's the best that has ever happened to me
Read your memorized paras in prayer...this tip really helpful for long term memorization...
Also make your routine to listen even a half parah.and revise it along with the reciter.....listening is really helpful...
Now that you have already memorised it once before, it will be much easier now inshaAllah

I usually listen to recitations and realise I know a good chunk of it, I go to the quran for the tidy up of any small parts and for a clean up of all the sounds. This is ok?
Also write down the portion / Surah you are memorising. It will help you remember it better. Use your own hand to write it in Arabic.
5:00 👍
Another tip:
Repeat fast, your tongue would have its own memory of words and you won't even have to think which verse comes next.
And as Shykh mentioned, create a chain of memorised verses
Sister Sarah, you can reflect on the verses and even listen to lectures on the verses that you are memorizing, but physical memorisation is a physical a
@Sarah Zafar May Allah make it easy for you. Ameen
Starting off slow is good but you will have to push your brain to retain for a longer period. So how you push it, is to recite fast and this is how you identify the gaps in your memorisation.
Please explain about stock market day trading Dr. Yasir Qadhi, if we can do it or not. I said day trading. Thank you
I memorized juzz Amma and tabarak what should I memorize next ( Surahs that are really important like surah Rahman, al kahf, yasin etc or 28th juzz??
Assalamualaikum Sheikh, how important is it to learn Quran with proper tajweed? My tajweed is not perfect but I want to go ahead with memorizing bigger surahs.
I am so hungry for it, i am memorizing my 7th juz. There are time i feel like i would like to have someone to partner with, that way we can both challenge ourselves by weekly bases. Anyone who is interested let me know

Thank you for your tips. I would like to know if it's ok to memorize firstly the short makki surahs and only then start the long madani surahs?
It is very common to begin memorizing the shorter Makkan chapters / the 30th Juz.
Yes im doing same going with short surah first
Assalamu alaikum

Where do we ask yasir qadhi questions?
The first hadith mentions nothing about a hafidh. The people of the Quran could refer to anyone.
The second hadith, I'm not sure if this is a derived meaning, but also does not seem to specify a hafidh, as oppose to one who adheres to the guidance of the Quran.
The third hadith also specifies nothing about the hafidh.
In my humble opinion, these ahadith focus more on those who are close to the Quran in every aspect, but not necessarily in memorisation.
All of this to say, I was hoping for more explicit hadith mentioning the rewards, specifically for the hafidh.
Where is everyone emailing sheikh Yasir Qadhi? What is the email?

Is it important to tell people that you have memorised the whole Quran or that you are intending to memorize? if we tell people then does it come under show off even though if we intend to inspire them through us? Please clarify
Aimal ka daromdar niyyat pr hy
When he says that he memorized a page, does anyone know if he means to read the whole page again and again or each ayah again and again?
Ayah by ayah, then connecting each ayah until you memorize the entire page.
Something I’ve found helpful is to first read the page from beginning to end, along with its meaning, then listen to an audio from a qaari of your choice recite that page while you follow along with your eyes from the mushaf you will be consistently reading from; then listen one more time while you also recite out loud along with the qaari.
Then start memorizing: start from the last ayah of the page. After repeatedly reading out loud, try reading with eyes closed (while trying to visualize that ayah) repeatedly. Once you feel you can comfortably recite, then move on to the next (meaning the ayah before the last ayah on that page). Do the same for this ayah; except this time, when you feel like you have it memorized, add the previous ayah you memorized. This way you can work your way up to the top of that page. Each time you memorize a new ayah, because you will also be reciting all the ayaat down the page, when you get to the to the top of the page, your memorization of the the entire page will have been reinforced bi ithniAllah.
Using memorization apps also help you select the ayaat you are memorizing. You can have those ayaat repeated throughout the day while you do chores - like Shaykh Yasir said- that will allow you to pay some attention without engaging in conversations or other things that will prevent you from paying consistent attention.
Then like shaykh Yasir said, recite that page in your salah throughout the day. I also remember reading somewhere that night prayer is the best time to review past memorizations. And that, right before fajr and right after farj are best times for new memorization.
A great book on amazon which will help you to memorise. Has tips and methods www.amazon.co.uk/Memorising-Quran-Muhammad-ebook/dp/B089NL13C8/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&qid=1591477053&refinements=p_27%3AMuhammad+Muhammad&s=digital-text&sr=1-3&text=Muhammad+Muhammad
