      I kinda agree. "Leverage" here just means "access". Its like having keys to open a door. The key is the leverage. U cant use that key to go buy a house because its just a key used SPECIFICALLY for the purpose of taking a position in a market.

    • @nafismridha997
      @nafismridha997 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think its important to distinguish between form and substance here. In form its called "leverage" but in substance its not a typical debt. If u go to a bank and say "leverage" they will give u cash to buy something that u cant afford. Thats leverage in the typical meaning of the word.

    There is a difference between currency trading and margin trading
    Forex is just trading in currency with 100% own funds
    Margin trading and drivitaves that is when you leverage your money.

      If you buy 1 lot of EUR/USD with your own money, you are actually buying 1 contract of EUR/USD. You are not purchasing 100,000 Euros or USD. Just a contract. Your money is kept as margin (security deposit) with your broker. After you close the deal, the profit/loss is adjusted on your broker account and your remaining margin (+/-) is released.

    On your first point about speculation. Speculation is short term and gambling. There's no guarantee that the price will rise/fall. One is predicting which way the currency price will move with no guarantee. You either win/lose. This is betting/gambling.
    If you exchange money and keep it long term and hopefully exchange it back for a profit is "investing". Investing is long term whereas trading is short term.

      In the stock market, you must get the number of shares in your name.
      After this, you can sell them. No short selling is allowed.
      When you use leverage, it is similar to forex as you don't own the stocks and only speculating that the price may go in your favor and you will earn x times the profit. Hence, buying stocks through leverage is also not permissible.

    Salam, I have a question about my PhD , how can I contact sheikh please ,
    I would like to ask a question about mixed martial arts. It is more of a fiqh question. There is a psychology branch called sports psychology. Psychologists of this branch mostly counsel athletes and help them perform better by improving their mental game/toughness. Mma, as long as I know, is not allowed in Islam. Is counseling the athletes of this field for their better performance permissible? Thanks...

      Derivative trading by its very nature is a form of gharar. It’s a zero-sum game where you’re “betting” that the value of the underlying security or asset in question will go up or down, while the person on the opposite side of the transaction is betting the opposite. If you profit, by necessity, the person who bought or sold the derivative lost money, and vice versa.
