I am 5'2" -- thanks, scoliosis -- and the fibromyalgia prevents me from walking any distance without pain. But if I ever took up golf, as a physiotherapist suggests, even I wouldn't drive a cart on the green ... that is sacrilegious. Even if -- and that is an almighty big if -- I opened my own course, I would still have far greater respect for the greensman that takes care of it, than to do such a knuckle-headed thing ...

To score well you need to be good around the green. Chipping and putting can mean the difference between shooting 80 or a 95. No matter how good you are with a wood or a using a 5 iron. The fact there are no video footage of Trump Chipping or sinking even a 5 foot put speaks volumes. I know plenty of 15 handicappers who can smack a drive and a decent iron near the green.

CTCS if you were actually a golf instructor you would recognize that you don’t have to have a perfect swing to shoot well, especially when you are older, they physically can’t swing it like the pros do. My grandfather is fairly good for his age, shooting a 83-87 and his swing is one of worst I have ever seen.

Erm. There's a huge difference between shooting a round of 73 and being one of the best senior golfers in the world.
I don't know why you emphasised *champions* tour either, as that would be on significantly more difficult courses.
A single figure handicapper could very plausibly shoot a 73. That could be 3 over par on many courses.

It is pretty absurd to compare rounds in a tournament to those just for fun with friends. Pressure changes things dramatically. So I i agree that MSNBC is off base with their comparison to pro golfers.
I also would point out, that based on the photographic evidence, his propensity for lying, and the accounts of numerous people including the staff at his courses. It is very unlikely that he is anything better than an average golfer.
His swing alone says at best he is a 12 handicap, which isn't terrible at all. It is just a far cry from being a 1. I am not even saying that he hasn't ever gotten a 73. I would bet that he has once, maybe twice. I doubt he averages better than 82-83.
He also certainly could be much worse... we won't know until he releases the footage of home playing multiple rounds. Which will never happen, because the tape doesn't exist, and as with other things he would have put it out there if it was flattering to him.

I've been golfing for 5 years and average 73 strokes per round. It really isn't that hard of a sport especially if you've played it for your entire life.
