Plain ol' hydrogen peroxide in the bleach dispenser (NOT with bleach!) works really well. Also, brand name OxiClean really does work better than any bleach. Bleach really just disinfects, it is not a "cleaner", it just happens to be a side effect of the chemical.
Also, as if I'm not mistaken...you can use powder in an HE machine. You just have to remove the liquid dispenser cup or put directly in the tub. Obviously, check your manufacturer's manual before trying.
You should try White Brite Laundry Whitener. It's like bleach on crack. I don't even need Oxy Clean after letting my whites soak in that stuff. I actually prefer the type of washer you have over my front load. No matter what I do that plastic seal around the door AWAY ends up with mildew on it. So annoying. Thanks for sharing.

Bought this stuff after reading your comment. It does whiten the towels quite a bit, but not all the stains come out even after soaking for 24 hours.
Oh no I hate when those stubborn stains won't budge.
Latifah , the white brite works, but i only found it to work if I scrub them to death. Some things are just too over sized to sit and scrub. I wash my rubber seal around my washer after each use with vinegar or even Windex with ammonia. The trick is to leave the washer door open to air dry , Latifah. My front loader is also self cleaning, but I still leave the door open to air dry. leaving it closed while wet will leave room for mold to grow.
my grandmother didnt have bleach, clorox, but her white cloths was spotless white, she used the sun light, it was free , not chemistry.

My grandma never used bleach at all. back in the day, she would group all of her whites for wash on a hot cold setting and detergent.
Before her getting a dryer she would line dry it. When she got her dryer she did it on a high setting

You saved my life. A very important item of mine was colored pink and I tried everything. I even soaked the item overnight in almost pure bleach and that didn't work. Then I followed your video exactly. I just didn't have Borax as I can't get it over here. But I did everything else and it is a miracle.... it worked!!!! You are a genius. hi I was always taught not to mix bleach and vinegar since it can cause a harmful gas. do you mix the bleach with the vinegar and if so is there a strong smell? otherwise thanks for sharing this!!

I was concerned about Mrs. Tan mixing chemicals. I have to find something because the bleach does not work. If the clothes remain in bleach too long they usually rip into shreds. It is annoying me and I have to find a remedy . I use white towels in the kitchen and white clothes on my face, because my skin is sensitive. My hubby's t shirts look so dingy I always throw them away and buy new t-shirts. It would be nice to be able to get them white.
That's what I'm looking for! I need to recover my nice white shirts without destroying the material. :(
Thanks for that overnight soak tip. I just disagreed a fitted sheet because I couldn't get it back to its original white color. I.change my sheets twice a week usually. Last week I waited for and entire week. It was dingy after the wash, I gave it to my granddaughter to use as a paint drop-cloth. At least I will know what to do next time

Hi. Great video. Do you think this would work on stains in white clothes? Let's say you washed with Clorox and detergent and there are still stains... Then you use this mixture...would it take stains out?
White is great to use as you will them quicker than coloured. Love your look🥰

I use bleach and Shout spray every time I wash and so far its working. I'll try the borax as well, didn't know about that. Thanks for the tips!

Actually I'm jealous of the top load most days! We skipped pedestals bc the last set never got used & made using the top of the washer & dryer so tall & not ergonomic. Now having front loaders w/o pedestals feels like I need a go-go-gadget arm to reach the stuff way back there.
Laundry cart with caster wheels is a must with frontloaders. More ergonomic with loading/unloading

HELP!!!!! so i used oxi clean spry bottle to remove some yellowing on a white tshirt and then washed them the traditional way. once i pulled them out of the washer i noticed that the yellowing was still there anDi think they where bigger because of the oxi clean. anyone have any suggestions on what i can do to get then white again?
Why do you have to use Clorox? Is generic Bleach not as good? The bottle says Bleach on it?

yep I know! What a video. She's blabbing on for over 4 mins yet doesn't say the most important facts... Lady - I don't care what washing machine you've got...
It's mentioned 1 to 1.5 cups in the video. I assume what is meant is 1 to 1.5 cups of each. I just tipped in as much as I felt though and it truly worked!! I left out the Borax as I can't get it here but did use the distilled vinegar. It worked perfectly!

Do you see a difference in your clothes with use of this product during washing?
I pour it on the damp shower floor and using a long handled brush (HOME DEPOT or LOWES) just brush it in. I have to say that the grout in my shower isn't too, bad. I just like doing this to stay on top of the grime. I've actually seen the housekeepers doing it. So, hopefully it'll work on yours. BUT~ I'd keep your handy guy's number close by, just in case LoL!! I love white too. Husb can destroy a white anything within a few days. Ugh. Mixing borax with bleach isnt recommended. Cant add oxiclean with bleach either. Look up what not to mix with bleach. Scary

I use borax, clorox and bartenders friend with boiling water. Inna pail with lid 48hrs and it's back to new white.
