Hey guys I eventually get around to fixing my broken nikon Z50, it took a while for the ribbon cable to come but happy I now get the chance to fix it! In this video I show you how I replace the cable which was causing the screen to go green and made it completely unusable, I am no camera repair expert so if you do try this yourself I don't take any responsibility if it goes wrong! I highly advise to take it to a repair specialist for peace of mind.

Thanks, that was very helpful. To everyone who hasn't done yet: There are little latches at the sockets for the cables - you can open then (with your fingernails or with a very small pincette). Then it is very straightforward to insert the cable. Don't forget to close the latch afterwards, it will keep the cable firmly in place.

I had the same problem with my Z50, with the flex cable breaking. I have replaced myself but now getting the green screen issue, guess I'll have to ask for a replacement cable as this one seems faulty.

Шлейф экрана я бы порекомендовал проклеить черным скотчем в месте сгиба с обоих сторон. Это решит проблему сгиба под углом 90 градусов и продлит его жизнь.

Hey so this is my second time trying to replace the flex cable on my z50 the first time I failed and damaged the cable….. but this time it’s was only a 50% change of success because when I did it again it worked clear as the sub! I no longer have the green death screen lol but IT UPSIDE DOWN! I took it apart and tried to figure out what was done wrong but I didn’t notice anything! So to sum up everything my question is ….. do you know what to do if the display screen is upside down ? And what cable to manipulate or fix?

Great video, my memory card slot got damaged after a heavy fall.. got a silly quite to fix it, do you know is it welded in or can a replacement just slot in ? Thank you

Hi I would recommend trying a new battery, other than that I wouldn’t know.
I done everything like on the video, but screen still not working, any idea what can goes wrong?
I could only think the cable isn’t inserted properly, this was all new to me.
I’m sure I’m having the same issue with my z50 and I saw on Reddit that the process of replacing isn’t too difficult. That being said and after watching the video, I don’t think I can’t gather up the nerve to self repair. But then again…a $300 repair bill 🤔😂
